KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Phaedra36 replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I understand Plano. I am mostly concerned with just completing the storyline. With K3, I want loose ends to be completed. Anyway, to stay more on topic for this discussion...what kind of mini-games should they have? Same ones? Different ones? Not any new games? -

Fine, I will give you that one. But Bao-Dur and Atton were definitely cool. Carth was not as cool as them, but he still is a memorable character that I like a lot ^^ -

Umm.. Jolee, Atton, and Bao-Dur was not. They were actually very entertaining characters, and I know there are a lot of Atton fangirls out there. I could see the reasons for Carth, but still. A role playing game deals with every character that was important, and Carth was important since not only was he Revan's lover, but he was in the second one as well. Anyway, a role playing game is about telling a story. Carth is a major part for the light side version and will continue to be until his story is finished with or without Revan. -

Oh my god. Who cares if a guy thinks Carth is dumb? Are you really going to be playing a Female anyway? Noo. You would want to drool over Bastila anyway. >.> I just get tired of being shafted in rpg's. Girl gamers are small in number, but they still deserve to have the same number of plotlines. If Bastila plays a major role, Carth should. If Bastila does not, Carth should not. They kept it fair the first two rpg's and should keep it fair in the third. -

You know, I just love how people forget their are girl gamers out there. Everyone mentions Bastila, but not Carth. Why should just Bastila be able to have a major role in there concerning Revan? Umm, we would like the female version love interests aka Atton and Carth (speaking for the general girl pop.) You guys are not being really fair in my opinion... say that Bastila should get a major role, but if Bastila gets a major role, Carth should as well. I know Bastila is a Jedi, but still. I would like to finish up my F LS storyline for Revan. -

Hmm. For the people that have not been keeping up with the endless amount of pages of Kotor 3, here is my currently revised storyline. Basically, you start as some good-for-nothing slave to one of the lowlier True Sith out on the Outer Rim. You only have one other friend and it is dependant on your gender for possible love interest. Also, you felt different from the other people since you could hear the Force but did not want to tell your Master for some reason. He always makes you do orders, and if you don't..he proceeds to electrocute you until you do what he asks. While on your various trips to deliver packages to other Sith members (a chance to meet prominent Sith in the storyline), you would see two figures covertly killing a few Sith here and there. Your character is in awe of their lightsaber, their robes, their very presence. You don't get to talk to them until a few times after you seen them. Once you finally do, you explain to them your situation of being a slave to a Sith and they agree to free you by getting rid of your master. You lure him out and they quickly strike him down. Realizing you are Force Sensitive, the Exile and Revan ask you to join their resistance group which happens to be a rather small group. They do not reveal much of what is really happening, just a brief overview and sends you off to retrieve a list of people to bring back that could potentially be useful. People that could be in there would be Atton/Visas, Carth,Bastila, the droids, and possibly Bao-Dur (basically the ones that were really important to either storyline or just generally liked). According to Revan and Exile's gender, only certain people would come i.e. Atton would come if Exile was female but not male but Bastila would come anyway since of the bond if Revan was male or female. You come back from your adventures, get raised up a few ranks and are manning a party of your own with a few new people as well as some old depending on what you want. A few reunion cutscenes would also ensue between Revan, Exile, and their friends..This is also the time you become an apprentice, and what job you choose is what master you would have (would pick from either Exile, Revan, or Bastila to serve as your master). And I think that is a good idea of what kind of direction the game should head off into. I apologize if people have already seen this post, but I am doing it for those that do not read pages and pages of this thread. -
Who would you rather have killed?
Phaedra36 replied to Darth_Onivega's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Bastila should die. All she does is whine throughout all of K1. I get really tired of her preaching to me :-p. She preaches to you throughout the whole game, and then gets turned anyway. -
scenes that would of never been put into kotor

Jolee is too old to be a party member now >.> -
1 project is unannounced from them though. I have a better idea anyway, after the 3rd one is released, make a trilogy game set complete with all the extra content.
-
Sorry, I think that they should stick with NWN2 and then work on K3 >.> The story, while cut out, is fine as it is.... Leaves a lot of room for storyline and plus, not everyone is going to play the Special Edition so when they talk about all this stuff that was not in the officially released, but was in the Special Edition in k3...people are going to be somewhat upset if so and so has died. I just say, let Team Gizka finish their work for everyone that wants a complete game, you know?

I think there was too much going on in between the 3rd and the 6th movies for much of it to be fitted into Game 3. First of all, lets talk about who dies. Darth Vader, Padme, Mace Windu, and Senator Palpatine. Now for your idea to work most efficiently, Revan would have to fall again to the Dark Side by promises of someone like Senator Palpatine because they are afraid either Carth or Bastila is going to die. So far this is ok, but this would kind of force Revan to be a Dark Sider. So someone has to die in order for them to prove their worth and pretty much Revan would just watch <insert name here> destroy <insert name here>. Preferably this could be an NPC because the Exile is too strong to just get electrocuted to death imo. Carth/Bastila board the Ebon Hawk and find Revan being all darkish and perhaps the Exile and him fight because Revan is mad Carth/Bastila boarded the ship to see Revan. Exile and Revan fight (and this would make people mad) that the Exile wins and pretty much Revan is obliterated but not dead all the way. Carth/Bastila winds up dying anyway, and everyone else lives so far. The 6th episode would be a mixture of Exile and the apprentice (think Luke) trying to destroy Revan. No one else dies, and in the end the apprentice almost dies from <insert name here> and Revan kills that person because he does not want the apprentice (your char.) to die while Revan is dying because of the apprentice's blows. This would make people mad because they put revan on such a high pedestal. Anyway. Revan's ship is destroyed, and people celebrate down below. Why did I say Revan? Revan has been in the very beginning, and Han Solo lives with his love so thus the Exile would live lol. While this is a good idea, forced alignment changes and someone lower than Revan killing him/her in the end would make people pretty angry, don't you think? -

I don't think we need a whole new cast for K3 either; I agree that the previously established characters need to have closure. However, and i think you'd agree, there should probably be a new PC and maybe some other new characters because of that, since people like to have a new customizable character for a new RPG. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, I whole-heartedly agree. Yes, I do want a new character, new friends, and at the same time want the other main characters from 1 and 2 to end. I personally do not care on who dies, who marries, who breaks up with you, etc. etc. as long as I see an ending to Atton's, Bastila's, Revan's, etc. story-wise. Not saying I don't mind happy endings! -

@ TheArchitect Ok a few of problems from my perspective. First of all, when did Bao-Dur die? If he died during the cut content, it does not count and neither does Carth dying either. The official game was released without the cut content, and not all of us are going to go and buy the computer game if we have the X-box game to see deleted scenes that will not matter anyway. Second of all, I am sorry but it is not fair for us girl gamers to get shafted if there is going to be a continuing romance storyline and only Bastila is there and not Carth. I know a lot of people dislike Carth, but a lot of people like Carth as well. I also know that guy players outweigh heavily on the number of girl gamers, but hey.. I would like my fair share too. It was fair in Kotor I and II, each got 2 possible "love interests" and it should stay that way. Another thing is, I highly doubt Mission, Juhani or Zaalbar will be in the next one simply because they were not there in the second one. And also, Revan went alone so Mission and Zaalbar could not be there to honor the lifedebt anyway. Characters that should be in there prominently in K3 are Carth, Bastila, Jolee, Canderous, Atton, Visas, Disciple, Handmaiden, and the droids. Carth/Bastila to complete the Revan Storyline. Jolee because everyone seems to love him. Canderous because so many people like him as well and the devs will give the fans most of the time what they want. Atton because not only he is like Han Solo, but to complete the Exile's storyline. Visas look above minus the Han Solo part. And finally, the droids have been in the 1st and 2nd. They deserve to be in the 3rd. I, however, think that Canderous, Disciple, Handmaiden, and Jolee should be NPC's. Why? Canderous is always getting sidetracked to save the galaxy, he needs to come to his senses that now that is around 45 that he needs to focus on the Mandalorian clans instead of teaming up with you. As for the Disciple and Handmaiden, their fates were told by Kreia about they would become a part of the future Jedi Council. I think Jolee should be there if Revan was LS because not only he is even OLDER, but would do a good job being a big part of the Jedi Council. @AstroCreep Why not? The story is based off of Revan, with the Exile leading to it. You are heading to the same place, and usually the trilogy marks the end of things. People will want this game to be epic, and I do not feel it would be as epic if we had some of the characters in 1 and 2, but not involved in 3. I mean, how nice would it be to actually have Bastila or someone else that you really liked fighting by your side again? I mean, in the movies you had the same people.Han Solo and the droids stayed all throughout the latter part, and Obi-Wan stayed as Anakin's teacher. They did not just fade off in the background, and I would not want the same for the characters I have really liked. What did everyone else that fought so loyally by Revan's and the Exile's side have no more interest in wanting to help save the galaxy or even care about their friend of even lover? That does not seem logical to me, since this is an rpg game and storylines play a major role in rpg's. We would be left with all these holes that would make hard-core rpgers (such as myself) quite mad at how crappy of a job they did wrapping up the story. Why do we need a whole new cast? What is so wrong with keeping the ones we already like? What seems logical to me is, we keep some from 1 and 2 depending on alignment/gender choices and get a few new people concerning alignment/gender choices as well. At least it would be easier on the game developers to only make a few extra characters instead of a whole slew of them. To both of you or anyone else that wants to agree/disagree on my criticisms..feel free to do so. -

I think the current state of the Republic should be fragile, but better off than in Kotor 2. The Restoration Project should be well under way, Telos should be finished, and start off on other war-torn worlds. In my eyes, the Jedi Council should be reforming in Corsucant with Jolee, Handmaiden, and Disciple as the new founding members and not party members. After all, Handmaiden and Disciple were both destined by Kreia to be a part of the Council anyway. Jolee would be there since ... he's just bad xD. -
In What aspect is Kotor I better than II?
Phaedra36 replied to extracheesy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Spoilers ~ Kotor I had better romance? >.> I only played through Kotor I almost twice (at the Star Forge) and Kotor II once. Bastila conflicted with her emotions so much, I didn't know if she was ever going to love Revan. Carth and Revan had a better romantic storyline, but he spent half the game hating me and then when I finally got him to tell me about Dustil..then he began to like me at a much more rapid pace. In Kotor II, Atton and the Exile had a much better beginning and middle stages of a relationship. It never got to where they said they loved each other, but there was flirting and the,"Do you think she and I...?" I mean, it was made apparent but at the end Kreia just wound up saying that Atton knew he was never good enough for the exile and was a fool. Doesn't leave a lot of closure to your average rpg gamer. >.> In my opinion, I don't think that I or II were epic at all.The first one was getting to know the characters, getting to know the problem at hand, and taking your first steps in dealing with it. Friends and enemies are made. The second one is heightening the problem at hand, meeting new friends and enemies, and left very open-ended so when the devs make it, they have many options at hand. -

I agree with this. My own suggestion for a K3 plot tried to play very specifically toward these qualities of Revan and the Exile, with Exile using his wound-in-the-force abilities as a "new" Nihilus and Revan sacrificing himself to the DS in a strategic maneuver to stop the true Sith.... My main concern is that I really don't want to see a plot where those characters *again* lose all their power/memories and have to start over. That said, if they are to be groupmembers at one point, I do think their powerlevels may need to be adjusted down slightly to fit with the rest of the group, but they should not appear until the main PC is at least level 15+, and they should both be set to always be higher level than the main PC, I think. This is agree less with, if it means giving the new PC some special powers, because it again brings us close the mechanic of the "chosen one". That said, I did give the PC an ususual ability in my own plot, but that was just to gain an understanding of what had happened to Revan and Exile and facilitate their eventual redemption. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree as well. I do not think that Revan or the Exile should show up until the second half of the game. Perhaps you will be going around trying to find them. As for whoever dies, I bet it would be Revan as well because he/she is more memorable than the Exile since we played Revan first. I also hope that I could go in as my third character, knowing everything about myself. How I was raised, where I am now, etc. etc. You know for my third character, I would just kinda like him/her to be just a regular Jedi/Sith. Luke was not anything special, he just got swept up in the midst of things and became an ordinary hero. Sure, he was good at being a Jedi but he was not some renowned person. Not saying I wouldn't mind another important character, or a character that could develop an important trait. In my opinion, the thing I am most worried about is the storyline. So many people seem to want to hurry up and kill Revan and the Exile. Just because they are great does not mean they deserve to die. I am not saying, "Lets have an happy ending with ponies and a big rainbow!" Just I want an ending to their stories and to the people that stories have connected to them if they perish. -
