I'm power-reading a 100-page book for tomorrow's seminar whilst listening to some soothing jazz by such greats as Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane and Charles Mingus. I'm skipping past quite a lot and try to take note of noteworthy little passages from this otherwise ridiculously boring book of gargantuan dimensions.
I think it's fair to say the YouTube people are pretty pleased right now regardless of what happens. If Google make a big profit out of this, they (the YouTube boys) will still know that such a feat probably wouldn't have been possible for them, what with being a much smaller company and all.
Wow, there wasn't already a thread on this? Considering it happened like two or three days ago... Anyway, yes, this hardly looks very good on the Russians. How is the government going to explain this knowing it was them she was criticizing?
I remember playing game as a kid where the refs were intentionally stopping passes with their skates and stuff (albeit halfheartedly trying to make it look like accidents). They were deliberately helping the home team, but the pathetic thing was that I played on a team full of beginners who could barely skate. We lost every game like 17-0 anyway, so it's not like the kids on the other team needed a whole lot of help from a couple of 15-yearold refs. Stuff like that makes you wonder what some people are made of.
I had an album for the 90-91 season that I actually filled, which was quite the achievement for an 11-yearold in Sweden back in those days. My fav was Mess...
This is getting a bit frustrating. The Oilers let in late goals in both the first and second periods while their divisional rivals grab late winners. Oh well, at least Lupul scored his first goal.
Those 'Nucks are starting to annoy me. They're supposed to suck and they come back with a late Sedin effort.
I watched New Jersey-Carolina and took some sort of perverted comfort in seeing the 'Canes shut out. I really have a hard time liking that team for whatever reason.
Pittsburgh will be a roller-coaster and so will MAF. I saw their game and even if he played well and shut the Flyers out, he wasn't perfect and it was a lot down to sloppy finishing from the Flyers (the way Forsberg handed out sitters to Knuble and Gagne in one of their PPs you have to feel for the guy; Knuble couldn't have got a clean shot on a beach ball last night).
The Pens looked more enthusiastic and their quick goals in the first ensured they won this one pretty easy, but I suspect they'll get mauled over the long haul.
Yeah, I like Cohen too, but his version of Hallelujah just sounds really bland next to Buckley's.
Regarding Tim Buckley, I must say I find Gypsy Woman the least interesting song on "Happy Sad".
