  1. I think you're under a misunderstanding. That's to say, you could not opt out of the beta. It was still listed as "Pillars of Eternity [beta]" even when not in the beta. Any other time I've opted out, it will remove files and download new ones. (At least on Steam.) This time no files were downloaded and it froze me in beta (despite being listed as "none (opt out)" under the game's Properties. Edit: I'll grant you this isn't the beta bug report forum, but it's always good 'fax to keep people (who are trying to update that it won't happen the way they expect) well-informed so as not to look for their pitchforks. If you quit Steam and go back it will go back to normal after you opt out. I tried that before completely uninstalling, it didn't work. I even hard-booted my computer on the second attempt to verify and no luck.

  3. I had the same thing happen to me. I had to uninstall Pillars of Eternity compeltely to opt out of the beta tier this time around; it was frozen in that state.
  4. One thing I've noticed is that, in trying a new barbarian character, that Frenzy wouldn't activate unless I was in melee range of something. In fact, if I parked myself just out of melee range, clicking Frenzy would run me towards an enemy and then activate. (Note: It would ignore +reach weapons and instead make physical contact with an enemy as if I had a regular melee weapon. E.g., force me to disengage and risk retaliation.) Is that intended behavior? Because the risk vs reward makes the talent useless.
  5. I think you've got your math mixed up there. Scale armor has a base DR of 7, and its Pierce DR is 75% of that. 7 * 0.75 = 5.25, rounded down to 5 by the UI. Edér's armor is Pierce-proof, which means its Pierce DR is (7+3) * 0.75 = 7.5, rounded up to 8 by the UI. When you enchant it to Fine, its base DR becomes 9 and its Pierce DR becomes (9+3) * 0.75 = 9. Works perfectly fine for me as of 2.0. I probably have my math mixed up. Whatever the case, Piercing didn't improve after enchanting Eder's Saint's War armour with Fine; it remained the same as it was pre-enchantment, which is a bug.
  6. They broke in 2.0, but 2.01 fixed it. Might be a GOG patch issue. Anyone on Steam having this issue still? (I'm on Steam and they work fine.)
  7. "Proofing" armour has been broken since beta 2.0, and nothing between then and now (2.01) has fixed it. For instance, Eder's Saint's War armour is +3 piercing and base DR of 7 (6 for piercing), for a cumulative effect of +9. This registers properly. Enchanting it to Fine, adding a base +2 adds +2 across the board but now either ignores Proof: Piercing or doesn't stack them.
  8. Sounds good, but I've done everything *except* the main quest (I always do main quests last in an area unless it feels time-pressured) and there's no indication it's ready. So, it's not when you get to Defiance bay but when you end Defiance Bay. I do appreciate the clarification though. No spoilers, exactly. It's just that the documentation simply says "Visit your Stronghold after you unlock Caed Rua." That didn't work. Then I read you had to be level 7. That also didn't work. I've accepted the fact that there simply isn't a way to go there "early" in the game's story and I've got an idea how to access it now. Hopefully this time it works.
  9. As someone that uses IEmod only on rare occasions (after which I remove it until the next time), an emphatic yes here.
  10. After completing the quest and turning down the offer of additional coin, I'm not rewarded the Cloak of Many Feathers. I was under the impression that cloak was awarded for any outcome except siding with Serel (in which case you get her ring).
  11. I appreciate the lack of spoilers, but given that I don't know anything about which quests trigger Act 3 -- coupled with the fact there is zero information from Obsidian about how to access the White March with a new game -- I just feel frustrated. I guess that just means I do all of Act 2 before getting to White March then. It really should be listed as Act 3-accessible, not Act 2. Even if it's somehow one quest shy of the full act, it's a poor implementation. Nobody's stopping once the momentum starts.
  12. So I can't touch White March until Act 3 (post-Defiance Bay)? That'll be a *lot* higher than level 7. I'm already level 8, and I'm only half-way through Defiance Bay and haven't touched anything east of Defiance Bay as of yet. I also won't skip side quests. Will there even be anything left to do?
  13. Mine were retroactively changed (Gaun's Share, Oidreacht, et al), and I've seen them proc. So it is definitely working for some of us.
  14. Is the combat-fix permanent? Or until the end of combat? My fear is that your first shots go wild, unmodified by accuracy. The "inaccuracy" of your accuracy is just a character sheet thing. If you read the combat log on those files the game is rolling your correct accuracy not what it says on the character sheet. And yes it seems to be permanent after the weapon has been used. (3 hours of playing until 4am regretting it at work today hah). Permanent would imply post-loading; during the same session does nothing. Also, I'd be wary. It's been proven before that when something doesn't show up on your character sheet, it's not actually working. Accuracy is notoriously among them and actually sets the precedent for being problematic, back when weapon focus wouldn't show up -- it also wouldn't apply. Either way, this needs to be fixed ASAP.

  16. I don't know, I'm seeing half the accuracy I should have. I literally lose 30 points on every character, so it's not just one source. I don't want to enter combat to see if that fixes it, it's disastrous.
  17. Hello, I tried the beta and the problem persist. In my case, the problem started the day 31 with the problem in load times. As far as I can tell, it's got more to do with how many saves you have for that character. The less saves, the faster loading/saving is.
  18. To be honest, it should be creatures in combat with, not kills. Even if that character did not swing. This is a party-based combat game; anything less becomes ridiculous micro-micro-management and extremely tedious. Not everyone plays on "Easy" difficulty where this sort of shenanigan would be possible.
  19. To be honest, I've noticed this with Vigorous Defence (for Fighters) as well -- in live-2.0. I have to mash the ability constantly to get it to fire off and it's not very reliable. I was so annoyed with it I specced out of it on Eder and took passive Weapon Specialisation at level 5 instead.
  20. Out of curiosity, will this be a retroactive fix? Will existing saves with the broken weapons be corrected providing they are in their original state? Or will we have to start over again?
  21. Although clearly a bug, I'm thinking it's a little more isolated to your or your version of the game. My priestess of Eothas met durance in the usual spot post-live 2.0.
  22. I can confirm; same thing happened to my Gaun's Share, Oidhreacht, and other weapons with any sort of drain (even lashes are disappearing) to be replaced with a small 10% speed drain. Edit: Items are found in their normal state but lose properties after loading a save with them.
  23. Oddly, (a day and a half later -- don't think there's been a patch?) as soon as I found another item that gave me +1 attributes, the +2 started working. Not in conjunction naturally, but it seemed to break the +2 acting weird. Gaun's flail is still broken though.
  24. Quick rule of thumb: Passives always stack. Otherwise, it's one ability, one spell/effect, one item.
  25. I found a +2 perception necklace (Torc of the Falcon's Eyes), only it doesn't affect my main character (no +perception effects -- no effects AT ALL currently). It affects all of my companions fine; you can see their Accuracy and Interrupt increase, and the item appears under Active Effects, but not the main character. The Cloak of Protection (+5 defences) works fine on my main character, it's a problem with +attribute items apparently (or this one item in particular). Saved game: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gnng5nbr2zwlh7x/388cd75581ba42b8a311bc0b918b3a93%207852044%20Valewood.savegame?dl=0 Easily verifiable. The cloak of protection is on Eder for comparison, torc of falcon's eyes is on my main character.
