I just love the smell of spoilers in the morning. Smells like... poodoo.

Just saw Over the Hedge.

K1(PC) had a nice little bug that made the game crash when loading the next area when going up the elevator to meet Malak for the first time. There was no patch for this(still isn't I think) but it could be bypassed by playing with settings and different systems required different fixes. All I had to do was lower the res, take the elevator and then bring it back up.

Well I got the Xbox bit. My reply was bad though. :">

Maybe you and Alan should do the same...

Most patches aren't needed to play a game.
-
None. But they're still patches.
-
But there are many patches for Freelancer. Granted the only official one is the server patch but saying "there is no patch" induces your fans in error. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's not a patch

Patience...

What PC game isn't overwhelmingly buggy nowadays? "Publish, then patch" is SOP in PC gaming now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Almost all of them? The vast majority of people seem to be having no problem playing Oblivion. It's just the vocal minority you hear on their forums. Civ 4 ran fine, as did Call of Duty 2. Space Rangers 2 has no problems. And that's just the last 4 games that I have had time to play lately (well, Freelancer as well....but that's an older game. But it never had a patch released for it). The last game I can remember being unable to play until completion was Bloodlines. I'm at work right now, but if you want, I can compile a full list of games I have bought since Bloodlines. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Freelancer patch 1.1 from the official site. And on Gamespot Only small stuff though. It's a great game

Heh, currently the only console that I have is the X-Box, and no games for it (I tend to rent most console games that I play). I play primarily on my PC for the moment (that may change). Won't affect me too much, anyway, as my gaming hours are decreasing and decreasing (still haven't beaten Oblivion, and I've had it since release). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well very soon(I say 2-3 years tops) those games that you rent will be buggy and you will need to patch them to play properly, just like PC games. On-topic: I'm slowly switching back to console gaming(PS2) as my PC is outdated and I don't have enough moola to upgrade(like for NWN2 and Oblivion). The only downside to PC gaming.

No, but you're guaranteed that they'll play. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope. God of War, Final battle with Ares. My killing blow resulted in the game "crashing". Everything was moving, sound was playing but I couldn't hurt Ares anymore and the cutscene didn't start. I had to reload from the last checkpoint and rebattle it out. That's God of War I'm talking about here... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't know that game. PS2? Anyway, how many console games have you played over the years? How often have you had that problem? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've seen much worse but not often, you are right. However that is because all(not including LucasArts') are fully patched when they are released. For a long time now PC games are patched after release. This fact is about to change though because console games are now patchable so expect to see a lot more bugs in your console titles when they ship...

No, it doesn't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's a counterintuitive, unsubstantiated claim! I want proof! :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I got married almost 2 weeks ago. And that doesn't suck. Not in the way you meant anyway.

I have bits of the first statement. Seems to be about Generals and deserted areas. That is all.

No, I count them as attempts of communism and they failed therefore communism failed. It is the inherit nature of greed and lust for power that will constantly make communism fail. It is an utopian dream that will never be achieved due to mankind's twisted and beastial corruption. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hades, this is very scary for me but... I share your point of view completely. And a word of warning: Everytime I talk about it I get bantha poodoo shoveled in my face...

Asians. Is there anything they can't do?

Kiddy games won't sell me a system either. And Mario has been more overdone than Star Wars. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Calling games you have no clue about "kiddie games" doesn't instantly give you adult points. Just for the record. Last time I checked the only thing you could call "kiddie" in those games was the art direction. Challenging, quality products all of them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Alright, "Kiddy-Looking" games. Better? Sorry but art direction is important to me. Just like gameplay, story, character design, sound, etc. The art direction of most games on Nintendo's consoles is enough to turn me away from those systems, even the GBA. And that doesn't mean I don't buy Nintendo's consoles. I make mistakes too. As for the quality of the games on Nintendo's systems, I've tested enough of them to agree with you. Most are top notch because Nintendo's standards for the games they allow to run on their systems are very high. They still have some lemons though, just like the other consoles. And for the record, RE4 and Harvest Moon are on PS2 as well. That makes them Multi-platform.

Everybody says that? Then why are they still working so frakking much? *I need friends* I finally saw History of Violence last night. I was apprehensive at first because DC is usually too twisted for me and I didn't like most of his previous work(post-The Fly). I recognize his talent but what he does usually leaves me cold and sleepy. HoV is a very good film though with solid performances and a good story. The visuals are average, no fancy lighting or special effects but some shots are very nice to look at. I recommend it. Highly.

@Hades: Don't listen to these people dude. We should form our own political party and blow it all to space. Thing is, money is the cause and solution to all of life's problems.
