Then you must be deaf, because if you pay attention, there're also new musical pieces and sounds as well. Overall, I like the new music more than Soul's old NWN pieces. It's just so overused. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To the game's defence, I only played about an hour, until I met the Dwarf. The only music I heard was from NWN1, same sounds. I was dissapointed. -

NWN2's music was brought from NWN1. So were the sounds. It's one of the best example of how lacking the game is. Graphics are bad, animations are bad and the entire thing runs like a crippled elephant. Use of creative license? Obs did a much better job with KotOR2 in this regard. But Morts was being sarcastic so... -

You haven't played Fallout this year? -
that's not entirely true. many men that frequent prostitutes do so for a variety of reasons... off the top of my head 1) don't want the hassle of hunting for a reasonable "score" in bars/usual places to pick up women 2) coupled with 1, would also rather get "quality" women (high-end pros, for rich folks) 3) don't want the wife to find out about infidelity (the dumbest thing a guy can do when cheating is to take a girlfriend... she'll tell eventually) 4) out of town and need a quick fix (military comes to mind heavily here)... i'm sure there are others. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All this can be bypassed with either hand or both, some lubricant and kleenex.

What bugs me the most about Oblivion's VO is that Louise Fletcher(I think it's her) does all the women voices. Or when I'm talking to an Orc about some quest he has a gruff voice but when I choose Rumors it's the VA's normal voice that pops up. Weird. But Patrick Stewart does a very decent if not too short performance, as does Sean Bean. But NWN2 voice acting was the best imo, at least from what I heard in the short time I played it. It almost compensates for the horrible graphics and other sounds. Almost. <_< -
Pff. As post-Apoc Mad Max creams any Kevin Costner post-apoc. <_<

I make less than 20k/year with a baby on the way. Survival. :'(

That was the point I was trying to make. Such a high level of realism is not needed to get the message across. Disney has been doing it for decades in their movies. Many ressources could be better utilized in other areas imo.

The tech is trying to reproduce reality, to make 3D models looks so real that a player can barely see the difference between the real and the virtual. I'm saying this level of... dedication is too much. For a movie or a tech demo, sure. For a game? No.
-
Three words: Battlezone Two RPG. (w00t)
-
So you are implying that you can have a 3D model in a 3D game without vertex or texture mapping data, based purely on 2D sequence of frames? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. I'm saying the level of realism shown in the pics above is useless in a game. Sure it's a demo for a card but I for one will not buy it because it can render this kind of graphic quality. Skin pores and realistic hair/fur is useless in a game, unless part of the gameplay.
-
"Significant issue: You can't make 3D games with shots of real people." Tell that to George Lucas!
-
I'm pretty sure Baltar will be Ares.
-
Exactly. So why not just go back to real people? Wouldn't that be more cost effective? Also, name me 1... ok 2 games that allow the player to come close nough to a character's face that one can see the frakin pores.
-
I remember in the 90s there were these games made with real people in them, filmed against a blue screen. Why are people trying to simulate this? I mean, the girl's face is obviously scanned from a real person's face. I have a rock on my desk and I'm making a fake rock so that I can throw it. Why?

I think The Five are a tool to help the writers through another season or two. I think the writers have no idea who are the other 5 models(out of 12) and The Five are used to keep us guessing and tune in every week. With The Five, they can choose important characters that we know or new ones and just insert them in the story as they see fit. They restarted the debate of "Who is a Cylon" in a new way. Maybe The Five aren't Cylon models at all but prophetic figures in Cylon beliefs? I don't know enough about Greek mythology but isn't there a pantheon of Gods with top figures(5?)? Zeus, Athena, Apollo, Hera and Ares or something?

I think most people forget the other half of the equation... I have never used the "service" myself. And I don't understand why some men can't just ****. I can understand even less some men who use the "service" while in a relationship. To me having to go to a prostitute is for instant gratification and nothing else. What's more instant than jerking off? It's cleaner, cheaper and you don't have to worry about disease and laws. Interesting question.

I noticed that too. There is a nice scene in this Eye of Jupiter where the Cylons are arguing over what to do with Aegea and the humans following Adama's "proposal". Cavil seems to want to exterminate them all. His argument is that the Cylons will still be there in five thousand years and there is plenty of time for them to search the galaxy for earth without the Eye of Jupiter. The other Cylons(all women) disagreed, probably because all three of them(Boomer, Caprica and D'Anna) have had direct relationships with humans(Boomer/Tyrol, Caprica/Baltar, D'Anna/Hera+Oracle). I also found it interesting that each Cylon model seems to have a "top" model who speaks for the rest. Like when D'Anna says "Us 3s will not let the Eye be destroyed" or something. What I find most interesting about The Prophecy is that it could concern Humans or Cylons. I mean, imagine if the Great Leader spoken of in the text is Baltar or D'Anna, a Great Leader but of the Cylons, not humans. Visions of snakes could be Baltar's devious #Six messing with his brain. I love it when shows make us question everything. It's fun.

that last episode was indeed a good one....my fav so far. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, the best since Exodus II.

Although I would be so very happy to do horribly painful things to this Anwar Sallahudin or whatever, perhaps simply forcing him to destroy his own 600$ XBox with various tools would do the trick?

Eragon. Better than expected. Can be summed up with three words: Lack of Experience. The editing for example is severely lacking in the first half, with no scene transitions and some dialogue that can be heard but not seen... when the camera is pointed at the speaking character.
