The Battlestar Galactica Thread
I love the Marines idea! And I don't have any objections to fillers either but Moore needs to speed up the pacing of his stories a bit more. Drama and introspective episodes are fine, even the CW relashionship is fine but like anything else, in moderation. The last 3-4 episodes were way too slow for this series and what made it worse was that they were all one after the other. Can't they write and shoot eps with faster pacing and broadcast them in-between the slower ones? It's like for season 1, they could do whatever they wanted, make it spectacular and all, no strings attached as long as their is no profanities. Season 2 it's like they wanted to do the same but the suits at Universal were begining to give them some restrictions. And Season 3 is like the suits have taken over. I just don't know anymore. I'm still excited about sunday nights and the "Previously on BSG" but when the episode ends and I sit back and think about it I'm like "WTF is going on???" :'(

TV: Heroes
Peter going bad? I think he's just obsessed now with saving the city, time is running out and he has trouble with the pressure. He was led to believe that HRG is a bad guy and Isaac was under his control for a while. If I were in Peter shoes I would also consider Isaac an enemy, under the circumstances. It is very obvious that there will be a showdown between Peter and Sylar. They both absorb powers in some way and are both learning to use them. When they face off next it will be one heck of a fight. The $$$ episode for sure!

If a baby will grow up with Superman-like powers...
Yes. Her feet are totally gross, even if you are completely indifferent of someone's feet, you will be grossed out. Then you will notice her hands are the same, with long, gnarly fingers like the branches of an old tree. Then it's the skinny, dangly limbs that just hang on there like boiled asparagus. Finally the face, with the huge jaw and fat nose, the really nice lips that look like they were kidnapped from some other girl and stappled on her face. Etc. It all started with the feet.

Possible armageddon if deep impact not avoided
Thats debatable. Many reptiles such as crocs and alligators, the Komodo dragon, some sharks and fish and most insects are considered dinosaurs. Again, the fittest survived...

Do you prefer the Fantasy genre for CRPG's ?
I would like a CRPG in the very distant future. I guess KotOR could count as a that but it's still too magicalish. I'd like to play a being that is radically different from a humanoid. Like a big blob of goo or a being of pure energy like a spec of light flying around super fast. Gain levels, abilities, etc.

X-Com - the revenge?
Or troop morale. Or destructible environments on the same scale. Or the ability to intercept enemy ships. Or funky weapons. Or land and sea combat. Otherwise, just like Fallout: Tactics! Similarity does not equal identicality. If I wanted to make an exact comparison, I would've said "X-COM can be compared to Terror from the Deep". Besides I wasn't comparing the two, simply pointing out similarities. I played FO:T mainly to get a similar feeling from playing X-COM. I got my wish in some respects and FO:T was the closest I felt to playing X-COM. Thats all.

Possible armageddon if deep impact not avoided
It isn't the first time in the last 10-20 years that a threat from space has come around. When Armageddon came out, NASA was looking for funds to launch a counter-asteroid project. The main theory was what was explored in the film, both a nuclear missiles strike and a manned mission on the asteroid itself. I've read that some consipracy theorists were saying that most of the profits from the movie were used to fund the project. A few years ago an asteroid of similar size passed a few thousand kilometers from earth, we barely survived they say. This is another one. Will we be so lucky twice? We need Armaggeddon 2 : The Astero

The Battlestar Galactica Thread
This show is so dropping in appreciation for me. I had more fun watching a rerun of Doctor Who than last sunday's BSG. One would think that more background on Zeus Adama would make for a great epiosde but man was that boring. Was he projecting like a Cylon? Was his wife a Cylon? Unless his kids are hybrids and Hera is NOT the first of a new race making the entire series fall apart completely, than no. So why the "Head Wife"? Did they avoid an actual flashback to cut down on Lost comparisons? Useless filler episode when more detail on the upcoming trial of Baltar would've made much more compelling storytelling. What the frak is happening with this show? And Heroes is moving to sunday nights?! Bye bye ratings! I'm very sad. :'(

Rome
Ok that purge episode was awesome. That's how you do serial drama - I'm looking at you BSG! For once my wife watched it with me and she was a bit impressed by the gore :D And we finally get a battle scene! One of the best episodes of the series imo, right up there with last season's finale and S01E08.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
Jack did another film called One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest which, Volourn, you should watch and learn some tips for when somebody puts you in such a place as where this film takes place.

X-Com - the revenge?
hmmm. Nope. Saying the same thing twice doesn't make it any more clear. I was hoping for a little more explanation on how you were conencting the two. To me it seems as if you are saying that: the closest thing to a Porsche I've experienced is a Yugo. I mean, technically, I see the accuracy of your statement since they both have two doors and four wheels and an internal combustion engine, but it's not a connection I would immediately make since there is too much difference between them. XCOM is a pretty hardcore, grognard-friendly dynamic campaign game with both well implemented tactical and strategic areas. Tactics is a linear mission-based rpg mixed with lite squad combat that isn't particuarly tactical. XCOM is much closer to, say, Close Combat than it is Tactics. I never played Close Combat(should I?) FO:T is a TBS with RPG elements. You deploy your troops and explore a map to find baddies. You position your soldiers for maximum efficiency and kill everything thats trying to kil you. Just like X-COM. FO:T doesn't have research or base construction, which is a big part of the strategy in X-COM. I love both but I prefer the eldest and I would be very content with a simple remake with better graphics and maybe a deeper storyline.

If a baby will grow up with Superman-like powers...
I don't wear glasses. Instead I untie my hair when it's time to save the world. Nobody has ever bothered me with trying to do experiments and stuff. In High School I had to control myself a few times and I almost killed a guy once with a wall but... Meh. I don't see the relevancy of your question Eddo. We live normal lives. Just like you puny humans.

Who has been the best US president in recent years?
Martin Sheen FTW!

what frightens you most?
No. (actually yes but I lie to myself as Ariel is so darn hawt, how can such a creature be inspired by devils of the sea? Same for Darryl Hannah.) Disney 4 Ever!

X-Com - the revenge?
- what frightens you most?
I get sleep aptnea.- What are you playing now?
Bully. All I can say is- Who has been the best US president in recent years?
I ain't American but I'd say Bill C. Canada usually feels pretty much any repercussions, good or bad, from things that happen in the States and from memory I believe Clinton's reign had the least bad effects on my country.- X-Com - the revenge?
You probably wouldn't like the game anyways, it's not an RPG. Well, actually, it was. Level upping characters, merchants, xp points, etc. Plenty of RPG elements for sure anyways. The closest to X-COM I've experienced was Fallout Tactics(for PC) which was deeper but without research or aliens, unless mutants count as aliens. UFO Aftermath and Aftershock were ambitious duds, the more recent one came very close to light the torch again but in the end it's just so boring. I do consider them sequels to UFO: Enemy Unknown, which was X-COM in Europe(and, oddly, in Canada - Qc - as well).- Movies You Have Seen Lately
The Prestige Most of the film keeps you guessing but there is a point where everything is easily discovered but the movie tries to keep you guessing anyway which seems pathetic to me. It's a very good film nonetheless however with great images and great acting, although I thought Ms. Johanssen's character was somewhat wasted. 8/10- what frightens you most?
But there's also mermaid! - what frightens you most?
