Do you mean that player skill or character skill has been removed in the "to hit factor"? Either way I think that's a positive thing though. If I am forced to physically connect with an attack, I don't want my skill invalidated by an incompetent character (and vice versa). Either use my skill, or my character's. Regardless, I definitely don't see going in either direction as dumbing down the game. Also, Morrowind was definitely pausable. I don't remember how much you could do when it was paused, but I know the option was there. I'm still not a fan of the series and I don't expect I will like Oblivion overly much, but at least they change enough things to warrant me giving it a fair shot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know the details, as is said it was jus my impression. Anyway it was a move from character skill to player skill, wich for me is not a positive thing. Most games are pausable, what I mean with "with pause" is that you can give orders while paused. qwb, <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean like Baldur's Gate 1&2&expansions, NWN&expansions, KOTOR1&2, ToEE, IWD1&2&expansions? What about Wizardry, Ultima Underworld, Lands of Lore 1, Might and Magic, Betrayl at Krondor, etc There are a lot of other RPGs that don't have the same design as all those D&D adaptations and that are just as good if not better. I'm looking forward to Oblivion because it is a RPG, a big one, a good one(all signs point to YES) and those are very rare. It's a single player MMORPG? Maybe but it's a free MMORPG and mods will abound that will allow us to fix whatever we don't like about it, just like Morrowind and NWN.

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
astr0creep replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
On another KOTOR forum, me and another poster had this idea about bounty hunting. On most planets there would be either a bounty office or a "shady character" that would give out bounties. Some would be kills, others captures or even scavenger hunting. The good part was that each bounty's location would be random across the K3 galaxy/region so the player would need to actually investigate, look for clues, interrogate witnesses, etc. Some bounties could even be quest related, like starting the game as a bounty hunter and picking up the job to bring in Revan or something... AIRWOLF!!! I used to LOVE that show! BEST. THEME SONG. EVAAR! And Millenium was another fantastic show nobod watched.

The first season of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is already available on DVD. It also includes the 4 hours pilot miniseries. Reruns are not the best way to go because each episode follows the other and unless the network broadcasts the reruns in order instead of the "viewers prefer these episodes so only show those" way like they often do, get that box set

it is... In the comics Superman has had some recent trouble marrige wise because he got the crap beaten out of him and Lana nursed him back to health and ended up leaving a pair of panties at clarks house. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I find it disturbing that Superman is married. That is so "down to earth" and boring for a Superhero. It makes it all seem like one of those afternoon soap thingies.

I wasn't being sarcastic. And I know she knows. She's not the only one reading and neither are you.

The Founders of OE are from Black Isle and/or Interplay. With all the recognition that comes with it. They are to be respected at the very least, preferably worshipped.

You had no problems playing an elemental Druid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> -
See, I always found Buffy very sucky and Angel even worse(except for Charisma and then she left) so I was never interested in Firefly until a friend made me watch it and I c*** in my pants and I've been a Browncoat ever since. "Watched parts of its entire run"? You have to watch it all. Again, I didn't like X-Files at first until a friend made me watch a continuous stream of episodes. Granted, the last season sucks, especially the "finale" but everything that was shot in Vancouver was brilliant.

Watch season 2-3-4 and tell me again X-files wasn't good. As for Firefly, may you burn in deepest, hottest fires of a special kind of hell.

List 5 that have no patches Solitare (sp... just woke up so ) and Tetris don't count <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I could list you hundreds that don't need a patch to be played, enjoyed and completed. Patches are tweaks, FREE tweaks, that make the game more enjoyable. Some do cover game stopping bugs but as Alan pointed out numerous times, those cases are rare.

In pre-lizard form perhaps? And he comes back in #4 all scaly and mean. 1 Bad guy with maybe 1 or 2 sidekicks is plenty in a movie. Otherwise you get Batman & Robin. The Exception is X-Men but that #3 will suck popsicles.

There are those that would kill you for that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sorry but it is boring most of the time. And you know what? COME GET SOME <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You have just made it to the black list... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OooOOooooOoo the black list, THE BLACK LIIISSTT! <_< I was just annoyed by the MONOTONOUS music. I actually like the games the first time I played them. And the second. But it's been years since and I guess I'm more dependant on technology advancements then I thought thats all. I'm hooked on Torment again though... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe you are just hooked by actual storyline? But seriously, don't talk smack about Fallout... These people don't take to kindly to it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe they should go and read the "freedom of speach" thread... <_<

You're just supposed to know, thats how ::runs off crying:: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ghaey! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now THAT is what I call a constructive argument. <_<

 I suspected as much. Takes some of the bite out of the joke though I still wonder about the beginning of the game though, what *are* you doing in that old rundown motelroom bed (besides getting nice dental punctuation marks on your neck). I remember them not having old fashioned sex from somewhere. Might be conversation, might be the manual, but they apparantly havent quite lost the power of seduction. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bloodlines. I was never able to make my machine show me those bite marks in my neck in the intro... So that bit seemed kind of stupid to me and it was not a good first impression. And then the other bugs, the clunky combat, the camera problems, I could go on. Thankfully the story is very good and the voice acting is simply wondrous plus the levelup scheme is also interesting although I would've liked more skills, abilities and powers.

I think it probably will failing any catastrophic buggyness. It's fallout Jim but not as we know it :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> More like: "I'm a game designer Jim, not a slave to fanboys!"

Well, they are dead. They have no heart beat. So technically, if blood is not pumped through their veins, males can't get it up. Right? So Vampires can only be cuddlers. :D

I would've been very happy with a remake of Fallout 1&2 in one package, developped by the original team behind the first. The reason for this is that I recently tried F2 again and the bland graphics and iffy controls put me off. I don't like the conversation system either and the pacing is too slow for me. The music doesn't help either, being sleep inducing and all. Wether a Fallout3 ever sees the light of day... Meh.

I stand *somewhat* corrected. Could still be a clever way to introduce a teaser poster or to announce the coming darkness of Venom. Whatever the true nature of the pic, we are talking about S3 a year before release so it is doing its job. Hype building.
-
Yes, copy all CDs on your HD and edit paths in Torment.ini You would still need a disk to start the game, if you don't use No-CD patch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was hoping for a way to get a true "full" installation(I guess it is, in a way) but that will do fine. Thank you.

How are we suppose to know about that email from the link you posted? To me the pic from the link looks like a teaser poster for the movie. I find it hard to believe that they would simply change the colour for the Venom suit. Something more fancy would make more sense, like a black slick that covers Peter's body, with CGI-added moving/swirling weblike whitish lines over it. Or something else but not a simple color change. Too cheap, easy and amateurish. So, I speculated.
