Actors to KOTOR I-II part II
astr0creep replied to DarkAngle's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Keanu Reeves for Carth!!! :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Keanu Reeves for a rock on Korriban's surface. -
Miyamoto was working on one. Although it would be more like being inside a room of TV screens (walls, floor and ceiling) than an actual holodeck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It has to start somewhere. They still need to discover that energy and matter are interchangeable. Humans are so primitive.
-
I don't know about you, but if they ever discover how to teleport a human being from the surface of the earth to a space station or a ship orbiting the planet, they better know exactly how and why it happens or I ain't EVAR stepping on that teleporter pad. Unexplained science is only speculation, no?

What about the story, world, graphics, and the combination of space/land fights (is it possible, or are there seperate lvl-s<maps> for both?) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've only completed the tutorial and the first mission. Mission 2 I made a mistake and the Empire overrun my forces. :">

Yes, we're all Vampire henshmen here. <_<

@Jorian: I am playing Empire at War right now(well, when I'm off my stupid job). It's a good Star Wars RTS game but nothing all that original. When you build units, they don't come out of a hangar or something. You need to call them, like reinforcements and then a dropship lands with your units. It takes a few seconds so you have to plan it right or you'll get crushed. The first mission(Rebels) has you protecting R2 & 3P0 with infantry while a swarm of AT-STs attack you, supported by legions of stormtroopers. Space battles are very standard and that first one is very easy.

Am I the only one who played the new SW RTS in these forums?

I'm still waiting... <_<

Character development vs. Character freedom
astr0creep replied to Ginthaeriel's topic in Computer and Console
1)I've worked on now released games(good and bad ones) for which QA didn't start until what the publisher considered the end of developement and dropped a complete POS on our lap and we had to make sense of it all with the devs. Believe me when I say it WAS NOT the end of developement as the pub thought... 2)Ok then away with deadlines! Let the devs do their jobs! -
What smart thing has bushie done so far? Name one. Just one. Please, to give me hope.

I can agree with this. I imagine Star Trek somewhat bridges the gap. Sure, it's based on science...fantasy science. If something doesn't work, they'll make up something that will make it work. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Isn't this how science and technology works? It's been "proven" that all the tech in Star Trek is theoretically possible. How many scientists are currently working on warp drive tech or phaser tech or teleportation or, best of all, a holodeck? Those are all currently researched technologies and they are all from Star Trek. About 10 years ago, me and a friend we wanted to start a PnP game in the Star Trek universe. We tried basing our system on D&D and it mostly worked quite well. Our main problem came with magic vs. science. Magic is like chaotic imagination. You can come up with anything and call it magic. With science, you MUST explain it. That limited our "science powers" pool as we didn't have the scientific knowledge to invent new sciences or confirm theories. Not enough to make a good PnP out of it anyway. All we had were classes like engineer or science officers and command but had almost no feats or skills for those. Not enough to make a game. We went nuts with the potential of space though... All I'm saying is that science in games is limited by the capabilities of the writers to explain the theories. you don't have that problem with magic.

Using Keanu Reeves would be like making lemonade with potatoes. -
Character development vs. Character freedom
astr0creep replied to Ginthaeriel's topic in Computer and Console
Hence the need to start QA at the beginning of development, not at the end, and make deadlines more flexible. -
Shouldn't you be playing WAR of the SPIDER QUEEN or something..... I sincerely apologize I didn't realize it was ought to amuse you. On topic: Can someone direct me to the best review of the Empire at War in their opinion please? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Try Gamespot. If the official reviewer doesn't help, there are users that write reviews as well on the site. It's rated 8.5 by Gamespot and 9.0 by users on average. I would give it a 7.5 if it wasn't Star Wars but that adds a point. I tend to usually agree with Gamespot's reviews.

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
astr0creep replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think it was somewhat of a warning perhaps? Like :"I'm here checking you guys out so you better be on topic or I will close this thread Memento Mori". " I would like that if I go Darkside, I get mutilated by a Jedi and I get to build myself appendages to survive or find some way to keep my body together and fight another day. Choosing a bodytype, adding tech and stuff and a special little gimmick, like shooting out charged lightsaber crystals or transforming into a car or something evil like that. -

Keanu Reeves... <_< He was the only bad element in FFCoppola's Dracula. he also wrecked The Matrix. He has the looks for the roles he gets but as an actor, he's a JackDonkey. -

Can't say I do.. :"> Have you changed your name ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No but I believe you have.

I do recall. I actually stopped hoarding money to buy a 360 BECAUSE Oblivion didn't make the launch. I'm a Morrowind fan if you recall

Fuel for Telos, Criminals, Game-stopping Telos glitch, Game-stopping Onderon glitch, broken Force Powers, Crashes (look for the start of "Technical"... damn lot of crashing on the box)? Most of these are fixed for us PC gamers by Gizka... and you guys got nothing... Yes. Kotor2's patch was a pain to install (96% anyone?) but you got to be lucky if the patching bugged out since 1.0B must be among the top 5 of worst patches ever. Funny, console port.... no-patches needed quality, no? " Oblivion? Have you seen it anywhere then? Specs Oblivion BTW; Recommended: 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor 1 GB System RAM ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card Minimum System Requirements: Windows XP 512MB System RAM 2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor 128MB Direct3D compatible video card and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver; 8x DVD-ROM drive 4.6 GB free hard disk space DirectX 9.0c (included) DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card Keyboard, Mouse <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stupid technology advancements!!!

That sort of thing tends to polorise people even more. It makes some more moderate and some more fanatical. I'm sure the idea of blowing up mosques of what ever sect is pretty sickening to a lot of muslims. All in all though I'd rather be in Ireland than Iraq. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For the beer... right?

I seriously went off him after EP II-III. Prior to that I saw him as very much the soldier/warrior,not a nice guy by any means but one worthy of respect. Now I see him as a clueless, child killing, whinny cry baby. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's why I personnally disregard the prequel movies. Star Wars was a big part of my younger years and I won't let some rich crazy man-child destroy what little good memories I have of my childhood by making such a beloved universe completely moronic just for the sake of keeping his tech toys popular in the movie industry. He single-handedly destroyed Star Wars, like killing his own child, by turning it into a tech demo. Very special thanks indeed <_<

I think she has the hots for closing this thread yet again...
