Who Kriea actually could be?
SSgtSniper replied to SSgtSniper's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
But see, there are members of the council over the years who have had families. The need to raise a family is a strong one, and even Jedi training cannot always curb it. Which is one of the reasons I think while they frown on it, they've never exiled someone for it. Which is why I don't buy Kae being exiled simply for having a kid. -
Kriea is getting irriataiting

Get used to it my friend, it's never going to change. -

When the Restoration boys get finished, (and I will be donating them some moeny for their time even if they make it a free download) it's going to be a whole new experience. Can I get a woot! -
Astrocreep, he was referring more to you actual physical dexterity in your hands, not the stat in the game.

NVM. The little turd gets me all excited and then says, oh, phone call, I'll get with you a bit. Tease.

I have a somewhat similar experience. I have an injury that effects my left hand quite a bit, (if you notice I edit a fracking lot) and sometimes the fingers don't do what they are told. Now on xbox, this isn't AS big a deal, but it does limit my ability severely on PC. (read my rant on being stuck on the Ebon Hawk. I had to find a way to port a USB controller to the game to get off the damned ship.) So a mash fest real time system is going to be a problem for me, as sometimes even my thumb doesn't do what it's told, and I lose focus of other things I am doing to have to consciously think about what I want my damned left hand to do. Morrowind was annoying as hell because even the little critters could hit me two or three times before I could get it together enough to kill the things. And then there was all that running........ Curiously, the one game that isn't as effected for me is Halo. I'll never MLG it, but I have some suprisingly good levels for as crippled up as I am. Well, I did. Before I canceled my original live account. (During the whole cheat fest insanity before the last update) My new live account I haven't really fiddled with nearly as much, but I still have a 14 in Snipers playing once a week. Why? Because Snipers is a game where I can step back and think for a second and decide on a course of action. Speaking of Halo, I just got invited to play some snipers on IM. Catch you in a bit.

Well, I won't be scrapping it.
-
By the way, it's worth mentioning that I am a big time stat whore. I have a comp book full of stat lists for every character I ever made for both games.

I knew it was D20 turn based. The word was out on this already. Goof. They annouced it as a Star Wars RPG using the turn based D20 system from the PnP setup. I liked the combat in that I could stop at any time and re-evaluate my plans, I liked that I (in the first game) could set the three party people to deal with differing aspects of the current predicament, (I would love to get the other two in my party to not automatically attack whomever I decide to in the current game) and I liked the level system. In a sense, because it was a system I already understood and had a fair amount of experience with, but because it was SOOO stat based, you could expect it to do things fairly consistently, and you could go into the feedback and learn things about how the system was performing. And yes this is off topic at this point, maybe we should have them separate this into a further discussion.

Dynasty Warriors is a great series. Although since you have an Xbox have you checked out Kingdom Under Fire ? Which is part RTS/Part Dynasty Warriors hacking and part RPG. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bleh. It lasted about an hour and forty-five.
-
Note that I will still at least rent and try a K3 without the D20 system, but if I don't like it it won't get bought. And I pre-ordered both KOTORs previously (the xbox copies that is.)
-
LOL alan, im exact opposite, of all my friends only ONE likes morrowind and (as sniper puts it) RTS crap over D20 rules. D20 makes sence in a RPG, after all your playing your character, you character is not playing you! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pfff. D20 rules or some other rules set, it's all numbers in the end. Numbers decide who will hit for xdamage. It's always like that underneath any RPG, wether it's Fallout, KOTOR, Morrowind, Wizardry. Any game where you get to levelup a character is a RPG, you play a role. Some RPGs are deeper than others but it's always YOUR character. You say it like only D20 let's you play your character and thats just not true unless you, yourself, have never played anything else but D&D based RPGs. In that case, you need to open your mind to other things. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I shouldn't have to be forced into something I don't enjoy to continue particiapting in a franchise I have dutifully supported. (K1 and 2 on xbox, K2 on PC as well) I like the D20 system. The rumors they are abandoning it frustrate me. Especially when it's made them so much money. Why kill something that sells? I never will understand that. Btw, I only OWN (read: did not rent and return) two CRPG's, that's the two KOTORs. So that should tell you difinitely how much I find the other RPG formats utterly annoying. I do not want real time. I'm not here (playing RPG's) for buttom mashing madness, I'm here to THINK. If I wanted mindless button mashing, that's what I have Dynasty warriors for. (My wife loves that franchise, and I find it fun to play games with her.)

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
SSgtSniper replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Um, I already said it was a T rating Jediphile. I have one and only one want for KOTOR III, if they do this, I will purchase the game: Keep the current turn based D20 system. Do not go flirting with realtime nonsense, or half breed systems. You do this, I buy it on Launch day. You don't, I will rent it first and have a VERY skeptical view going in. (I've only ever managed to find two games I rented that I viewed worth buying. And both of them stiplulated to wait until they went platnium hits on Xbox.) -
And your point is?
-
I loved KOTOR's combat. D20 system FTW. They change that, and I'll rent KOTOR III instead of just summarily purchasing it. I hate that crap like what you see in most of the RPGs, half-breed-turn-based-to-real-time-vomit-goes-back-to-the-video-store. (Did I make my feelings clear on the matter?)

So you just assumed he was quoting you? Oh the drama (w00t) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DUN DUN DUN!
-
Rational thought, on a Forum board? Oh the humanity!

I think I'll skip both and be just as happy as the whole lot of you.

I seem to recall speaking to this last night. Something about weird hats and long coats?

I wondered how long it would take someone to ask that. Not that long.

Who Kriea actually could be?
SSgtSniper replied to SSgtSniper's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes, that's 4000 years later - of course the rules couldn't have changed by then... Again, I don't believe it would have happened this way. Corran Horn's grandfather had a wife, and child, and was not exiled. Having families has always been frowned upon, yes. I have never seen an actual exile in literature or other that has been for the choice to procreate. I don't think they like it, but the exile for it is self-induced in all the situations involved. The person in question always tries to hide what they are doing, fearing something that has never happened. Sure, they'd try to talk you out of it, but in the end, they aren't going to throw you out for it. -

Or for Yusanis taking her child away and sending her to his home? Maybe? Also, Yusanis was prominent even before the Mandalorian Wars, and Would have made more than one trip to Corusant over the years.... Who says they didn't meet then?
