I want to say it was like 125k for the birth and care of my son because he had to spend about a week the NICU. I had great insurance at the time but it was still like 5-7k out of pocket.

Some things just go together. Like lamb and tuna fish, peaches and gravy, and white bread and cream of mushroom.

I've watched the first 3 episodes of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace thanks to @Chilloutman It's hilarious

Have you tried being rich? I highly recommend it I've been on a major hummus kick but last night I made some chicken thighs with cream of mushroom soup. It's a cheap recipe my mom used to make for me when I was a kid where you season and pan fry the chicken thighs until the skin crisps up nicely then dump that into a baking pan and pour in the cream of mushroom soup and bake for a bit. I made rice to eat it with but I much prefer generic US white bread like god intended. My son loved it but my wife not so much. She has a thing about pre-made soups and basically anything that comes in a can so this was never going to be a winner for her. My son and I broke out the white bread and polished it all off

But they can't just hire an expert?

I don't disagree and I'd actually be okay with banning all handguns even though I own a few. Something about how haphazard (not sure that's the right word) most assault weapon bans/proposals are bothers me. Like they don't have anyone that can read it over and be like this seems unenforceable and this is basically pointless or anything else. The obvious flaws and loopholes make me question if it's intentionally so or if they're just incompetent.

It actually doesn't make much difference. The firing mechanism and general operation is exactly the same E: Barrel length will actually make a difference but more in a target shooting way than in a mass shooting
-
A lot of "assault weapon" bans do focus a lot on the look of the guns as opposed to the function which is something I've always had a hard time with. For me it's a lot like breed specific legislation for dogs, typically "pit bulls" being defined by physical characteristics as opposed to genetics, and they both have a tendency for the worst people to gravitate towards them.

It really depends on where you're at. In my area there is a massive shortage of starter homes. Almost nobody is building new ones and existing ones often get replaced or upgraded with something that will bring in more money.

I actually just bought and sold a vacant lot in the middle of nowhere. I dabble in real estate investment but lately it's been absolutely crazy.

Now I'm curious if there are any reports of a good guy with a gun accidentally killing someone. Other than cops because I know that's happened. CO just passed a law making it mandatory to report a lost or stolen gun.

Now I want to go fire up an emulator and play Countdown to Doomsday

I believe they are using the Mandarin, the real one this time (and also trying to tone down the more problematic stuff), in place of Fu Manchu but I'm also not very knowledgeable on Shang-Chi

Yep, the plan was for her to have that role but she was supposedly not all that interested. I read somewhere that they kept reducing the role to try to make it work for her but in the end they just gave up and went with someone else (Visitor) playing a new character (Kira). Another interesting casting story was that they originally wanted Famke Janssen for Dax and even though she ultimately turned the role down they ended up using her spots from The Perfect Mate in the Trill redesign.

Watched a show called the Baker and the Beauty on Netflix. It's light standard rom-com fare if you're into to that and if you're not then it's an easy skip. We've also been slowly making our way through Better than Us which is also on Netflix. It's a Russian show about robots that's really, really heavy on the drama.

Standard checkups are normally included in your premiums. In my own experience, I've been told to be careful what you say because it can cross what's covered. Anyways, my previous post about this is gone but everyone that I've known who has gotten some kind of mental health diagnosis has specifically asked to be referred or had their parents do the same. I've heard, from a friend that's a psych doc, that your GP is unlikely to refer you or even suggest such without you asking.

And nothing of value was lost

Falcon and Winter Söldner. Finally all caught up. I feel like Marvel always makes sure to make revolutionary villains do something irredeemably evil to undercut them.

Sticky Bandits in training

Yeah, here you generally have to seek out any mental health help on your own. Your normal doctor isn't likely to try to diagnose you or even refer you unless you ask for it or are in such bad shape that it's obvious and unignorable in the 15 to 20 or so minutes that they are with you. Still, I dunno if that chart it accurate but it's believable.

Found out about the FedEx shooting when I was checking the status of my delivery. That's a terrible first.

Solasta official release is May 27th. I haven't bothered with the early access as I've been waiting for the full release

You made it further than I did. I was done after the first episode. We watched Legally Blonde on Netflix. My wife hadn't seen it in a long time and I hadn't either but had fond memories for some reason. I still like it way too much.

Denver cases are up 27% and hospitalization is up 100% but the mayor announced the end of outdoor mask mandate and gyms and restaurants can go back up to 100% capacity.
