one-for-one the fighter has more damage output right off the bat because of their damage buffs. Buffs that monks do not get. Torments reach is great in debuffing and AoE damage, but the output is very similar to the Fighter if you count the passive buffs. Plus a fighter requires nothing to get going. I think they're very similar overall, but the ability Charge on the fighter just puts the monk to shame. The monk has nothing in his/her kit that can destroy 3-4 enemies in the first second of combat. And even though I enjoy the monk immensely I can't get passed the fact that their passive wound generation is completly counter intuitive to what an actual assassin style character should bring to the table, which is to decimate enemies without them being able to respond. That doesn't make any sense, Charge is not early game. Monk has torments reach, fighter has what? Knockdown? Please.

Oh wow, that breastplate. I already don't miss even on upscaled Sky Dragon with higher fort than the bog dragon's I didn't graze with "only" beast chant and camping bonus. So I guess with that breastplate I'll just disintegrate as always but maybe even crit. I have coordinated attacks but no marking weapon but I guess too much overkill won't be necessary.

I don't use traps but I also never used them, found them cheesy back in the day when they were good and since I'm a creature of habit I stayed away from them after the nerf. There is still situations were they are good in my opinion, mostly low level, for example soloing Raedrics asap. But in a non solo party I don't think it's worth the time at all.

Yes, if you go melee you need less DEX, 10 is absolutely fine if you dual wield. CON and RES are fine at 10, too Tbf even tho maxed Int is nice it isn't absolutely necessary either, PER is your main stat by far because of your many awesome FORT targeting spells and the crazy Fort defenses of so many enemies.

Yea true, but the priest has so much support, lol. Charmed enemies do indeed profit from it, tested on the broodmother on upscaled rRussetwood, for Cleansing flaming her companions I mindwebbed her twice. (I still had dragon chant switched of or the fight would have been quicker.^^) You can easily avoid that tho by going out of range from the charmed enemy, only allies in close proximity (I think something like 3m) profit from the web.

I voted no, because reload weapons are fine if you switch. It was mentioned in another recent thread, that using several loaded weapons after another is historical correct and reloading on a battlefield was a dumb idea in real life history. Apart from that using 3 weapon slots, 2 guns and 1 bow is an ideal way to use a cipher, using a gun for FoD on paladin is as awesome and I'm sure there are other applications like the already mentioned rogue. If something is to weak it doesn't get used, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who heavily relies on guns in this game.

Yea I think chanter, cipher, barb is actually better than my trio, since you can get chanter def almost as high as paladin. It's jsut slightly more work with scrolls in certain situations like fampyrs and dragons since you need protection from terrify or charm. I'm pretty lazy and even tho I don't mind microing a single char, microing 3 sometimes feels like a chore, if I had 6 I probably would go 6 chanters, lol. I wonder if priest chanter cipher is actually necessary, sure you get the highest defense + priest spells, but what are you gonna use your support spells for if you have 200ish defenses in all 4 catgories?

So even though I took my time to get there (started end of march, lol) I finally got to level 15 with my Trio party, paladin, Kana and GM. I've got to say defensive mindweb is no less than op, but also I feel it's still alright for such a high level ability and doesn't need a nerf or anything. Till level 15 I ran GM as ranger and Kana as tank, now I respeced to almost purely offensive dual wielders (took Superior Deflection as only safety talent) and start the fight with an arquebus shot to get 80 focus. I quickly build 80 again for reaping knives, cast it on kana and then wonder wtf I even did that because now I build 170 focus in seconds but since the fight is almost over it's a waste of time to cast abilities, since melee GM reks so much it is a beauty to see. Haven't done the dragons yet, nor Cragholt or half of WM1 (and ofc all WM2) but from what I've seen vs the fampyr lord (my 1st test) no fight is gonna be a challenge.
