  1. That's what they've done with it now?! I know they'd moved some weapons around and such, but that's just stupid. *Considers reinstalling Bloodlines and downloading patch*
  2. The pre-release kind, like the ones Reviewers get?
  3. I had encountered Xor when I landed on Manaan. Being thrown off it meant I couldn't meet him a second time. And then I couldn't be bothered with a fourth playthrough. I didn't know about the story in the first, in the second I learnt too late, and in the third I was thrown off the planet. Yeah, I'd got burnt by the GenoHaradan quest on my first two playthroughs (was thrown off Kashyyk, so I couldn't get back to the Shadowlands, and Dantooine had been bombed in the other, I think), but I got it in the third.
  4. You CAN stay. Just threatnen to tell the world that they cannot ship Kolto anymore if you are not allowed to return and they allow you! (and not even have a grudge afterwards ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really? I don't remember that option. I played through that part countless times looking for a way out. Because I was thrown off Manaan, I never finished Juhani's story. I know what happens, but I wanted to play through it. Damn Selkath. Also, I'm disappointed with myself that I didn't get away with such wholesale slaughter.
  5. Do you even need to be a prestige class?
  6. Malak. His saber skill was too much most of the time. I was a DS Sentinel with no heal. I had to use stacks of medkits and such. If you're LS, you can free the Jedi using Force Breach. It's useful power to have late in the game, what with a lot of Dark Jedi using Force Resistance and Malak using Force Immunity. Traya was probably second. She would spam Force Wave sometimes and make a complete fool of me. Force Crush worked on the sabers, though. The Tank Droid never caused me to die (I think) but without piles of grenades, I'd never have beaten it. Ever. The Greater Storm Beast? Was that in the Onderon Palace or on Malachor? Either way, it can't stand up to force powers.
  7. Always was restriced by armor. I noticed in the DVD that comes with the Priam book, they don't mention it once as a "must have" power. Maybe they aren't as good a guide as they think? It's a must have, dark or light side. two extra attacks, and you get places much quicker? I'm sold. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very true. Makes the game much easier and the travel distances more tolerable. Use it with a Double-Bladed Lightsaber and Master Flurry and you'll get like six attacks in a turn. Prima must be drinking.
  8. Install the official patch. I heard the unofficial patches cause problems. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The official patch leaves LOADS of bugs unsorted, because Troika closed soon after. Unofficial patches are still being released on the official forums. I think 1.5 was a good one. My 1.6 turned almost every NPC in the game to kindred, making it impossible to feed or successfully obfuscate. Only bums and hookers were still human, and since the patch also messed up my blood gauge they'd always die. Corrupted my savegame and messed up my hilarious Malk playthrough. This was in the middle of last year, though - I've since uninstalled the game and a new patch was in the works even back then. Either way, it's a member of the forum who does the patches, so any problems would be highlighted in a thread. I'd still be playing it now, but my load times were often up to 30 minutes for just for entering new areas. At least I'd get useful things done while playing the game.
  9. Also there's a delightful scene of a moderately graphic throat-cutting. You see the head teetering to and fro before the person falls. I was pleasantly surprised at the detail.
  10. I found KOTORI to be a much more enjoyable game. Better character interaction, more variation between planets, more evil... KOTOR2 did a lot of things well - Better interface, configuration/upgrades, deeper roleplay and what remains of the story... But it's not as much fun. Simple as that. The blandness of the environments and frustration as nothing is ever revealed or resolved leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention that many of the characters are dull and underdeveloped.
  11. Making Zaalbar kill Mission was a favourite... The Sandral-Matale feud was HILARIOUS! "Casus is a kath hound chew toy". "Ahlan really DID kill Casus". "Kill them, kill them all!" Poisoning the kolto didn't make me feel guilty at all. I hated Manaan. They can all die. The inevitable sharp increase of casualties of war was of some comfort after they booted me off the planet, though. Killing Zaalbar's father and telling Zaalbar "I butchered him. Is there a problem?" The line "I've always wanted a Wookiee slave!" on Taris. But my favourite of all: On Manaan, that worst of planets, taking the mission for Shaelas to find his daughter. She had been recruited by the Sith for training, and I decided to slaughter her and all of her little friends. When I went back to Shaelas, I charged him extra for the information, then told him... "I killed your daughter, Shaelas. And I'll kill you if you tell anyone else about this. Now give me those credits!" I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed. You could be so ridiculously evil in KOTOR. I'd played KOTOR2 first and was delighted at the difference.
  12. Taris. Not backstory, as such, but I'm sure that doesn't make it any better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Also Juhani's surrogate home world. She throws a nice little hissy fit about that, you and your precious Bastila. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Taris-s City was destroyed, not the planet...they didn't shoot it with a Death Star ya know ^_^ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was mentioned that the whole planet more or less was the city. But I think "No building over two storeys was left standing" implies that a lot of the characters are probably grieving over nothing. I'll bet there were plenty of survivors, or that line wouldn't have been added. Then again, most buildings, including apartment complexes, were huge... Oh! The question. Juhani has the most heartbreaking story, but Kreia, Visas or Handmaiden probably has the deepest personality.
  13. I loved Gun. It's simple, quite easy and fairly repetitive when it comes to side missions, but it's a lot of fun. Very gory, too. Shoot a man in the head and watch his head split apart. Or, if you left his head intact and he's still alive and struggling to survive, kneel astride his suffering body and scalp him (For no good reason, there is no tally of scalps in the game), listening to him scream "HE'S TAKING MY HEEEAAAD~!!!" This complaint is based only on early parts of the game, before the PC realises that I played it again immediately after I finished it. But my laptop died before I could finish.
  14. I don't think HK's influence is a factor. You just need high influence with Handmaiden. Not sure if you need to be DS.
  15. Also... HK-47 - *delighted voice* Optimum targeting ratio achieved! Handmaiden - This will teach you! I loved that. The only thing better was Canderous' 'DIE!!!!'
  16. Nar Shaddaa, but only for the interactions.
  17. yeah it really disturbs me a bit on Kotor. Iif you kill his son on Korriban, Carth screams "Down you go!" while he shoots at his son, and afterwards he get's all sad. i know that it's all in the programming, but it's just strange. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, that was hilarious. I tortured Dustil to death. Plague, choking, insanity... I made it as slow as I could. I didn't like Carth much...
  18. Atton is the lapdog of the game. Both dark and lightside acts influence him positively. He'll love you as long as you listen.
  19. Alignment only affects appearance.
  20. The 'Love' definition. "I heard there was a some kind of Sith Lord in the Western Square, killing people with his mind" - Random Onderon peasant after I'd come from a scuffle in the Western Square. Only ever heard it once in three playthroughs. I think I was a Marauder, too... Other than those, my favourite lines are all from KOTOR I. I crippled myself laughing many times at that game - Mostly for the cruelty.
  21. The Dark Jedi in the temple aren't a plothole. Malak has authorised them to enter long before. As for the Krayt dragon, Bastila says in-game that it nested in the cave and became enslaved by the Star Map's dark power. This could have happened at any given time. One flaw I noticed was Bastila using Force Wave to repel your party on the temple summit, yet her not having it when she later joins your party. And no, it doesn't matter if she had it before, after she's turned her Force Powers are wiped and replaced with a new (less effective) set.
  22. Jawas, then Twi'leks. I hate Sullustans. Their faces look like masks and the way they speak is irritating. Maybe it's because it was really obvious with them that there were only two or three sample alien dialogues per species.
  23. Visas has empty eye sockets. Sure you don't want the veil?
  24. LOL, well its better then K1, in K1 your choices would have been 1) talk them outta collecting 2) Attack and kill them! Least K2 added that option that was worth a laugh and different <{POST_SNAPBACK}> K1 had much better choices... That's the only really innovative choice that K2 had.
