  1. I'm sure, I already move normal controllers around making funny faces. But naw, I was talking about fat, slobby, pizza-loving lowlives.
  2. Do any of us actually look/play like that?
  3. Um... they do that for every product on earth now, including toothpaste.
  4. Often the same with retail. In fact, with retail it becomes more difficult to find a game than DD, flat, especially outside US/Canada. Also, when direct download becomes the 'norm', I'm sure stores dealing exclusively or significantly with DD sales will become commonplace, increasing general availability.
  5. Actually, it's still a pretty good game, especially so if you've never played the Xbox version. I only got to try Xbox version later and I could appreciate why it was better... but still.
  6. i wonder how they will handle unorthodox movement: e.g. climbing, rolling, dodging, grappling, ducking, sliding... it'd be pretty cool if the controller acted as the person's axis of movement, then you slide the controller in a direction, or roll your wrist over, etc. And, we'll have some great videos of people trying to play 4-player tennis.
  7. I don't know, I don't think Satan himself could stop China's population going up.
  8. The 3rd screenie looks quite bad, actually, and there are generally spots that need AA, but oh well. Graphically, pretty good.
  9. Would that be the same guy as the one in your sig?
  10. Meh, Quicktime screws up and plays audio only due to missing some plugin or something that's unavailable. Is there anything worth watching on it?
  11. I will comment when 90mb finishes downloading at 20kbps. I love New Zealand!
  12. Volourn: fair enough. And that's the reason I can't criticise you, merely disagree - DD needs customers' cash to grow, but right now many games not offered via retail are sub-par, and here we go in a self-perpetuating cycle where neither party is really to blame.
  13. But how many of them have you tried?
  14. Meh. Social perception of accepted practices. Discussion over.
  15. I don't criticise, as in I don't think it's "wrong" per say: I am simply saying one of its effects will be to slow down the development of direct download. I would prefer it, but I'm not saying taht is the universally right way to go. Again, you have no obligation to help developers. That is why I am not telling you to change what you do, etc. I think the only point where I might suggest anything to you is this - your primary interest, for YOU, is buying games that you will like, correct? How do you assume that all or even most games you will like will be offered retail? Aren't you putting your own gamign experience at a lower priority?
  16. Yes. And having played it once, I see no reason to, myself. I guess it's a good buy for others who missed out on Oblivion or are finjished with it already.
  17. Sawyer wins. Hades / Volourn - I'm not criticising your purchasing preferences at all here, but the majority of gamers and potential gamers have the same expectations as Hades seems to have - that games, or "real" games, or "worthwhile" products (not "pieces of junk") come in physical copies with a box and a manual (even if 90% of all manuals in the last 3 years have been completely useless and boring.) This is stifling the development of direct download and other alternatives to the traditional publisher for obvious reasons. 'course, you don't mind, do you? You wouldn't buy those anyway.
  18. Those bullet points really sound like it could be anything from "Virtually Nothing" to "A lot". New fighting styles, for example - it might either be one half-assed style or one-two well done ones, same with monsters, combat AI (that might not even be noticable), etc. Still, any new additions are good.
  19. Oh, I think he does.
  20. 2 million units before profit would mean we'd only have about 5 game companies on the planet left... also, dev salaries / maintenance isnt mentioned either. Still, it's not false, just exaggerated. It would be pretty accurate if you applied it to music labeslt ho.
  21. Oh, I assure you, I find you funny today.
