You can't be serious. Neverwinter Nights, being built on D&D 3E, had laughable balance. No this just isn't true. I have like 6000 Nwn character builds compiled over a decade sitting on my computer somewhere. All classes and prestige classes were more or less equally featured. I only want to see half as much of that in PoE. There also used to be an online search engine for Nwn 1 builds ( a fact which speaks for itself). And Nwn was 3.5 btw, not 3

I agree on both counts Valsuelm. I do think however that asteroids (yes, asteroids) and the weaponization of space will come first i.e. justifying big military spending with anti-bolide armaments or somesuch.

It's not the Republic. It just says Dialogues and is thick as hell. I know 80% of it is basically Plato. He is confronting a dozen or so philosophers over the course of the book, half of them with names unfamiliar to me. This is just a small paragraph that has Socrates in it. It's some obscure Czechoslovakian/Yugoslavian publisher from the mid century. Let me check and I'll get back to you. EDIT: This book is pre-ISBN apparently :/ Printed in '56, Zagreb

I guess you're right. But I'm not complaining that the game is hard in this thread. I'm just saying there is a big (outrageous) efficiency gap between certain classes. And I don't understand how Obsidian missed this. I'm just saying, if no choice makes the completion of the game impossible, then essentially all choices are viable, despite the efficiency gap you mention. I'd have to agree. I never claimed the game is hard (at least not on normal) just that the class system is clearly tiered.

There are more unlikely places for the Russian troll army to prowl. I read once they invaded a Finnish forum for mothers exchanging child-rearing tips. Hah, where did you read that? Am just skeptical as Russia is the boogeyman right now. Given that the Blue team likely does this junk too this fuss is a bit much. The West needs to maintain an image of an external threat, an enemy if you will, so that it could keep the society together. And they need the people to vote for big military budgets. This is accomplished by scaring the American public with Putin the boogeyman. first it was the CCCP then it was the rogue nations then it was the terrorists then for awhile it was third-world dictators (Milosevic, Saddam) then it was terrorists again (round 2) then it was dictators round 2 (Gaddafi, Assad) now its Putin next it'll probably be aliens need to keep that war machine going

Hmm personally after these couple of weeks I find the title theme the most unbearable. I literally cant stand it xD -

Its not one person i.e. myself. Tons of people are opting for those choices due to getting disappointed or anally raped. What race/class did you pick? ... How does that mesh with your rankings? Not well.... It's due to those being everyone's first choice (made with a lack of judgment and experience) for the most part. No one is going to make the same inferior picks on subsequent playthroughs i.e. people will tend to go Cipher/Chanter/Druid/Fighter and so on.

Bro I said bugs, limericks, auto-leveling companions and messed up attributes were fixable. I didn't say perfect balance is achievable, I just said balance is the biggest issue in this game. Likewise, you'd never have ideal balance, but near-balance. Which is light years away from the current state anyway.

...Not really? I'm saying a classless system would perform better. But currently that is unfeasible due to the moral crisis induced by capitalism.

Yup dictatorships can be "benevolent" as you put it. Forget CNN. Just look at Gaddafi and pre-war socialist Libya. It had the highest standard in North Africa, even a lot higher than that of some eastern European countries like Serbia or Bulgaria. Free healthcare and education and all that.

There's a saying, you cant please everyone. And that's the central tendency of modern democracy - social liberalism. Do you see the problem now. You cant have social liberalism and class equality, if you have social classes. Democracy is a paradox. And we've combined it with liberal capitalism. That's one ugly marriage.
