While I can't speak for SA max damage as I only tested it on I think 63 focus and wasn't impressed with it's damage but the advantage of full attack when we speak about low recovery two weapons builds like Monk or Rogue is actually pretty huge- that straight up double done damage when using Two Weapons. Can't be use as much in row as SA of course, but so far didn't meet anything which would require that. Though if someone is planning to use Two-handed or Single/Sword Shield build then Soul Blade definitely is better option. Bit of off topic: But it's kind of lame when whole build depends on spamming one ability only :D. Not to mention your pretty much take whole Cipher subclass only to use ONE ability since it eats whole focus :D. I think that design behind Soul Blade is really lame. But lets now do Devoted/Soul Blade. Probably most boring melee class in game imo

Since it is different from pure powerbuilds I want to create sperate thread to gather your experience about this topic. I will share so far my unkillable Votary build (it has two version, still testing which I like more). Still testing stuff around but general idea works so far really well. Version one - Pillar: Race: Moon Godlike Class: Votray (Shattered Pillar Monk/Kind Wayfarer Paladin) Stats Might 17, Con 7, Dex 14, Perc 16, Int 14, Res 10 Start with: Swift Flurry, Lay On Hands. Version two- Helwalker Same but with Helwalker to take advantage of high might= high heal transfer and boost damage at the same time. So the general idea is to stack as much healing as possible: we have Silver Tide from Moonlike, White Flames from Flames of Devotion, Lay on Hands + Second Wind from the start. Which is why we can get away with low Constitution. The amount of healing is really huge. Later the game it's even better once we grab Greater Lay Hands and Practiced Healer. This combines well with monk high DPS from Swift Flurry, Turning Wheel and Torment Reach, which gives us strong AOE and later AOE stun vs enemies. Paladin provides healing, Flames of Devotion for single target burst (Full attack so works best with Two Weapon Style and so with fists) and great passive bonuses to all defenses and resistances to various bad things. Also once we Grab Aura of Focus we have +5 accuracy perma and FOD gives +10 acc anyway. With upgrade and Uncanny Luck we will also have 10% Hits to Crit, which is not a lot but this is not DPS build. The idea is to ensure we can tank through game while still doing very good damage. Now, the version with Pillar is easier as we have constant Wounds to spam Torment Reach and still have decent bonus from Turning wheel and good heal. The Helwalker version is more risky as you take more damage but you also heal much more due to +1 Might per Wound which can generate insane healing. But at the same time we take 5% more damage per Wound and deal more damage. On Max Wounds we will also deal 50% dmg as fire from Turning Wheel as opposed to Pillar 25% on Max Wounds. Still don't know if its worth over Pillar. I just like Wound Generation from doing damage instead of taking it. What are your so far solo builds for PotD? Please remember I don't talk about builds that can one-shot boss. I talk about builds that can survive soloing a lot of group fights and encounters in game.

Monk has great burst with Swift Flurry- I hit many times 5 attacks in go and Torment Reach + Rooting Pain can generate a lot of focus. But if you wait for a lot of focus to do that over 200 SA I will already kill all enemies from basic attacks and torment reach. I sometimes hit over 200 from Swift Flurry crit (few attacks) so... Figher can generale enough focus for 200+ SA with one charge, no need to wait. True, but if you can do 150-200 dmg with simple attacks with almost 0 recovery or using a FoD/Barbarian blow which are Full Attacks instead of Single Attack then I don't see a point in SA. I played a little with Soul Blade and so far it doesn't seem to me as impressive as other melee combos you can get from multis. It's of course definitell a strong subclass for melee, no doubt.

Why are people so obsessed with other people being obsessed with finding the most overpowered thing to streamroll the game with? Wait, maybe they consider it fun? Or right, that's a different point of view on things which seems to not ring a bell to you. Well, imagine that- many people have different view on what is "fun" and not. I can't think of anything much more boring than playing with some random inefficient build and struggle in game. Imagine that....

Easy and straight foward- Monk Shattered pure. Fighter Devoted or Rogue Assassin. Multi class: Easly and simple to manage: Devoted/Paladin, Devoted/Monk, Devoted/Soul Blade etc. Generally Devoted is easiest, most boring straight foward dps boost. More complex and more fun: Monk/Zerker, Monk/Paladin, Paladin/Zerker, Paladin/Chanter, Shapeshifter/Monk, Rogue/Soul Blade. There is a lot a lot of dps option in this game. Just pick what you want really. I started game couple of times with different melee builds any one of those can easy break game fast.

I hate this argument against balance in single player games. It is the designer's responsibility to balance the game, not the player's. Avoiding content is not a solution to balance issues. Players who want to feel more powerful can lower the difficulty. Players who want a challenge should have access to that experience on the highest difficulty, regardless of what abilities they want to make use of. Man, it's a Single Player RPG- you play broken build ONLY if you chose to do so- you don't want, don't do it. If someone will want he will just use console or cheats, god mode, one-shot everything. It's single player RPG- you are broken as you want.

Playing Zerker/Bleak Walker I avoided that, I recommend for Kind Wayfarer to multi with Shattered Pillar instead. Anyway you can offset confusion with: Mental Fortress, Snef drug (very cheap to craft), any sort of Immunity to Intelect Affis. Actually Zerker/Bleak did not give me that problems at all, but I was playing it with Nature Godlike as I figure out I already have enough damage. Stack Snef as much as possible.

Berserker/Skald is also crazy good. AOE Paralyze-> Leap -> Ton of damage and crits, zerker passive with Sklad Phrases and buffs. And fits nicely from roleplay perspective .How does this work outside of solo play? Chants buffing the enemy/hurting your party is a significant downside. You mean Berserker friendly fire from confusion? You just eat snvef before fight or make rest of your party range. When I was playing with party I was using everyone to buff/heal me so I can destroy enemies. Also what buffing enemies? Berserker only makes Carnage work as friendly fire. Everything else works normal lol. You sure? I'm pretty sure it has been discussed in other threads and chants/auras should affect enemies aswell while you are confused Description says only about Carnage. It wouldn't make sense that it affects other subclass spells. Unless there is some bug. Also by taking drug Snef (or hows its called) before fight you counter confusion anyway. Or taking Mental Fortress.

That 6 con is kind of imo worrying, but on the other hand he is using Moon Godlike which can offset that and Fanatic can be quite tanky. I personally don't like having penalties to any rolls so I try not to dump stats unless after beating game I will see that there is like 2-3 fights where my XXX rolls were required so then I will maybe dump it. Also that is the last subclass I would take for Paladin- imo Kind Wayfarer or Bleak Walker offers much more. One gives superb healing and other one additional lash + debuff to enemies. But like the general idea behind building fanatic is correct.

Ok. Also I don't think Turning Wheel is gamebreaking. It's only really strong if you play Monk and have 10 wounds which means you take a lot of hits and generate wounds either slow or loose HP rather fast. For example Turning Wheel on Shattered Pillar can deal only maximum of 25% more dmg as opposed to 50% on other monk classes.

Oh wow, okay, I had no idea Shattered Pillar could generate wounds that quickly. Side note: I'm kind of curious how a Shattered Pillar/Skald multiclass would work. It's obviously not going to be as offensively powerful as some of the other multiclasses in this thread, but it seems like gaining phrases on crits (plus cheaper offensive invocations) could let you spam offensive invocations to a comical degree. The paralysis cone one even gives you more chances to crit, which means more phrases, which means more invocations... Not sure if it's better than Shattered Pillar/Barbarian or even just pure Shattered Pillar's ability to spam Torment's Reach, but it seems like it could be really cool. It could work, yes. Skald is generally strong with any melee, but since he has 50% chance to get +1 Phrases on Crit I think he would work really great with Zerker and his 30% Hits to Crit passive. I generally think that Shattered Pillar is best class to combo melee multiclasses right now. Second would be Zerker and Rogue and 3rd Bleak Walker/Paladin. They just give so much good stuff to melee combat it's crazy. Rogues have crazy single target dps, but they rely on stealth, which I don't like as it slows combat for me and they struggle vs group of enemies, unless you combine them with some AOE classes like Monk or Devoted.

Out of curiosity, why Shattered Pillar for solo? If you're going to get hit anyway, wouldn't it be better to get Wounds passively from that and have a higher Wound max for the "stacks based on how many Wounds you have" buffs? Or is Shattered Pillar just faster at building up Wounds and/or better in some other way? It's because the only thing that really benefits from Wounds stack is Turning Wheel or Iron Wheel. And both are imo not worth loosing super fast wounds building of Pillar and it's definitely not worth takin 5% more dmg per wound from Hellwalker, since it's just not worth at all. Nalpazca could probably beat every monk in end game with max investment in Alchemy. But so far I am not sure if you are able to craft dugs all the time to use it every fight. Because if you can spam drugs- then nah, I prefer things that are available to use all the time, not from time to time. Shattered Pillar wounds on damage means that pretty much one attack generates max wounds, so you can Spam Torment Reach all the time as it will also generate wounds, which will each time proc Rooting Pain. Rooting pain proc each time you get wound- so all the time with Pillar. Combine Rooting Pain with for example Carnage and you have constant AOE raw dmg around. Also stacking defense/armor etc. has no dimishing return on Pillar because you don't have to be hit to gain wounds. If enemies miss you too much- you get less wounds- less Rooting Pain, Less Torment Reach- less dps. While on Pillar you can be glad that enemies miss you or graze you :D So imo Shattered Pillar is the best till I find method to have infinite drugs. It's reliable, has always max wounds and don't rely on taking damage to do more damage.

Is bleak walker/zerker (or zerker/skald) soloable (potd diff) do you think? Or not enough healing? I'm ok with some deaths/reloads as long as I'm not dying constantly. Was planning on trying one of those but I primarily solo. Thanks for your input!! In my opinion is, especially if you take Moon Godlike because it heals you 3x times through Hurt, Bloodied and Near Death. But it's not a must. It will struggle a little sometimes and in early game it's hard to play with Frenzy. However later in game it has great damage potential with Blood Thris + Bloodlust and 40% hits convert to crits: Beacon + Spirit Tornado -> Brand -> FoD -> Barbarian Blow (all proc Carnage) is great combo. You still have Lay on Hands, its upgrade later, Second Wind and Savage Defiance so heal is there. However, since I did not yet finish game, the question is if end-game will be CC heavy like it was in POE endless path. The reason some classes were not that good for solo was the amount of CC enemies could dish out. Hence why Paladin might be great choice for end-game as he has tons of passive talents that makes him immune or resistant to many things. Generally I think everything is soloable, just easier or harder.
