From my experience game is fine on PotD till like 10 level. You can even go and have nice and long fights with 3x Skull enemies around. From like lvl 12-15 you start to basicely cut through enemies and from lvl 15-19 you are walking god. I think PotD suffers from enemies with broken scalling, weak enemy weapons and from Player damage getting too big jump from gear. Just think if my Legendary weapon gives me +60% dmg, +4 Penetration, +16 Accuracy + My gear gives me 0 Recovery, god Armor etc etc. And you take enemy 2 levels higher than me who wears simple brigadinne + basic sabre. Well....... I am aslo talking not about some super OP build- just simple fighter with two sabers on Level 15. I don't even use anything apart from Vig.Def + Disc. Strikes and Charge. Enemies hit me for like 4-8 dmg and I am wearing medium Armor (Devil's). Imo it's gear which gives too much power. Imo Superb and Legendary weapons break game. I even nerfed mine to Exceptional using mod....

Meh, I soloed that Area on my lvl 10 or 9 War Caller. What you see here is not that broken on strong at all. Guy is at almost max level and everything dies so slow. If I went there on his level with Fighter It would end in 3 Charges probably... My post wasn't meant as a kind of chalenge to you to tell us that you can solo the area, or to fill your need to diminish someone else's build. Frankly I don't think that's very important to the discussion and if that's the only feedback you have about the video then that's kind of boring. Please do better. Well, you obviously called that build broken and you brought it into "builds" sub-forum so you pretty much challange in some way people here to take a look at the build you presented. Also you could just say "Auto Summon Skeleton from Chant in best on Troubadour" as this is discussion about summons. Not that I think you did something wrong, just explaining. If you call some build broken, you kind of need to be aware that it will be put vs other really broken builds discovered here. So while build from that video is ok, it's far from broken or even being optimized. Anyway, let's just get back to summons.

I would not say infinite as it does proc often but not all the time. But yes, during duration I have 0 recovery and it can proc and rest timer, though I had it happen only once. And that doesn't kill all your fun? I don't even need to test this with Swift Flurry... I know it'd break the Game. I don't play RPGs to be weak . Do Monk/Fighter with Swift Flurry and there . A lot of fun :D For me fun is to feel strong. If I want to struggle- I already have real life, job and small kid :D

This is biggest what I got for Fighter/Devoted for Sabers: BLADE CASCADE ON SCOREDO SABER: It's 10% Chance on Hit to ignore Recovery for 0.0 sec. HOWEVER - this is base duration and it scales with INT. So for me on 20/21 INT it was 4.4 SEC! Enough to make 4-5 Charges without any Recovery. And it procs (as all effect on HIT) with Charge and Cleave, so the more people you hit, the more chance you have to proc it and hit counts as ONE HIT, so Full Attack with Dual wield is Two Hits (so 20% Chance to proc). I charge through several enemies It proc and then I just Charge->Charge->Charge while procing Cleave all the time.

UPDATE!: I updated Sabers for Scoredo's Edge "Blade Cascade" enchant effect! It's great enchant on sabers for Fighter/Devoted. With High INT it gives ZERO RECOVERY for 4.5-5 sec on everything if proc! More in my first post under "Weapons". Also explained how Effects on Hit works with Dual Wield and Full Attacks.

For me in early game those were of courese Skeletons with upgrade as their were useful as hell :D. Later in game however I really loved Wyrms (Gernisc Slew). There is 3 of them, they are quite tanky and have range attack. My favourites. Ogres were cool but I didn't think like they were doing something special really and Wyrms were 3, instead of 2 so I game me more engage options (like one wyrm per one range enemy if there were 3 of them etc.). Drake is epic, can't deny that but I sort of didn't want to waste slot on him, since there I think Her Brige, Her Courage and Seven Nights (if you like to sometimes deal some damage) were more fun and useful to me. Animated Weapons are cool, but they did not seem to be worth level IX skill over Wyrms and there is of course Dragon :D :D. Which I think is so epic that not many people can resist :D. But my favs so far were Wyrms. Yours?

Chanter Troubadour with all debuff chants. High Int and you can passively debuff enemies constantly with Linger and you can also take Debuff invocations like: And Hel-Hyraf, At The sound of his voice, Rebny Daret's voice (later you can just upgrade At The Sound to apply terrify too and ditch this one) and few others later.

Brute is just BRUTAL. You combine 30% Hit to Crit with Disciplined Strikes (another 25% Hits to Crit) + Helemet that gives you another 15% + Lucky Strikes + any weapon that give you such bonus and you have at least 75% Hits to Crit. With Frenzy you always pop Nature Godlike +2 Power Bonus. You take Devoted for another pentration bonus. Then you have Cleave Stance + Carnage + Charge + Barbarian Blow. He anhilities screen. And fighter helps him not being squishy as much (Rapid Recovery + Vig. Defenses).

Hey, with party as main healer- Paladin. As main tank- both, but paladin more. As front line damage dealer- War Caller. But both will work well. CUSTOM PORTAIT GUIDE: http://www.notra.fr/portrait - Clock on POE and then create portaits. You put custom portaits using this site above to create two portaits from whatever image you want, one large (_lg) and one small (_sm). You then put them into folder: Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\gui\portraits\player (female/male subfolder) POE2 however use two more portaits in game, one for dialogues windows and one for another. So take your _lg one and make copy of it and name _convo and also make copy of _sm and name it _si. Put all 4 into above folder (either male or female) and you have custom portait. Important: or four images (_lg, _sm, _convo, _si) must have same name before endings so for example (Malebrute_lg, Malebrute_sm, Malebrute_convo, Malebrute_si)

Reducing classes power gap is a good start to make the game more enjoyable. If some classes are way powerful that the rest, how a designer should balance the encounters? Oh sorry I forget, as Zeitzbach, just make the game both easy for strong and weak classes, leave hands from mouse and keyboard and let AI play it There will awlays be weaker and stronger class, best weapon/spell etc. Nerf one, another one takes it place. What you are saying is gaming utopia never achieved in any game even with biggest studios. There was, is and always will be "Meta". There is always strongest build and weakest class. That's how it works. And I am 100% sure Obsidian do not have both time and manpower to balance the game the way you want. And by the time they will- most players will already move on. It's impossible to achieve "perfect" balance, but it's quite possible to achieve decent balance. Obsidian did, in PoE1. I have faith they'll do it again. They had the time and manpower too apparently. Even Tyranny got the worst offenders like material enchant stacking or volcanic weapons fixed, even if it took a long time. Tyranny already "died" at point when they did fix Volcanic weapons. I managed to finish game 3 times and then there was quite some time before that even happened. It's not online game where you have to constantly worry about balance.

You do realize that "balancing around solo play" makes no sense in terms of bringing difficulty up. Solo play is more difficult, so balancing around difficult situation makes it easy for a party. Let's assume the game would indeed be balanced around solo play. Then the expectation would be the party play (which is a lot easier) would be ridiculously easy (like, 5 times easier). Fun thing is, game is too easy even solo now, let alone with a party. Currently it's already balanced around something like 0.5 character play. It's like that because enemies can only deal damage or soak damage. No other options. It's like going into a rock paper scissor fight where enemies can only play rock and paper. You need to give your enemies scissor, not take away your own scissor. You do realize that there's also internal balance, right? Why should I take barb when fighter is tankier and has better AoE? Why should I ever use spell X (e.g. concelhaut's corrosive skin) when spell Y (e.g. meteor shower) does 5x the damage and in AoE on the same level. I'm all for enemies getting smarter etc, but it won't fix internal balance and it won't fix inherently broken combos that just can't be fixed by smarter enemies. You could of course argue that all the stuff that does not do 2k damage should be buffed and then all enemies should be buffed on top, but that's just stat bloat. There's no real difference between these buffs and nerfs, except that nerfs are way easier to do (It's much less work to nerf the smaller number of outliers) and "feel bad" for some people. 1. Because it's fun? I played now my Paladin/Chanter PotD solo knowing that later Fighter is better but I wanted roleplay Paladin. I picked Pale Elf, not nature godlike- why? Because i like how they look? 2. Why should you pick another spell? Because you want? If game is so super easy as you say it should not matter right? You are forcing yourself to not like game cause you want to run only most optimal stuff, that is how you drain yourself. Take barb and play him. Why do you care if Fighter is better? Does that mean that Bard is bad? There is always something better, stronger, faster etc. If that bothers you that much - that is on you, not on game. If you will make PotD so only most optimat, super min-maxed builds can be played- that is a big fail from marketing perspective. You don't make games for small playerbase. You try to meet in the middle, with more of a shift towards bigger playerbase part- casuals.

And here is thing- adjusting PotD instead of just nerfing everything. I already said I understand Inner Death or Empower spells because I think here just numbers are broken and it's easy fix. But when I hear about nerfing Chanter Level VII invocation, Paladin defenses, FoD, Meteor Shower (freaking level IX!!! spell), Fighter Cleave stance, Racial bonus (WHO THE HELL FORCE YOU TO TAKE NATURE GODLIKE??!!!) etc. - this will actually affect whole player base who play on all difficulties and just want to have great time and it's bad, selfish approach from "hardcore" players. I don't even now what hardcore player do in single player RPG..... So I think the discussion should not be about nerfs to some strong things in game, which are better then underpower ones but about how to adjust PotD itself to make it challanging. Because never seen a game with succesful balancing with just an approach "hey this is very good, let's nerf it. Nice, now we have 5 ****ty skills to chose from instead of one good and 4 bad. Balance". PotD should be balanced first and foremost. Also there is far more skills that need buff instead of very few that might be too strong.
