  1. Is CRP working correctly? I mean the stats and stuff that it displays..... Last night I killed Llengrath but it still keeps showing Radiant Spore as the strongest enemy slain by my party, now Radiant Spore wasn't even half as tough as Llengrath, there is no match actually between Radiant Spore and Llengrath in terms of difficulty.....and Durance is the one who scored killing blow on Llengrath but it shows that the strongest enemy Durance has slain is a Dominated Raider, are you kidding me? I don't even remember who that Dominated Raider was, I think he is one of those lame raiders who try to raid your stronghold from time to time and how come he is stronger that Llengrath? Seriously WTF is going on? Same goes for many other characters in my Party my main character killed Alpine Dragon but it shows Radiant Spore as his strongest kill, but let me tell you Radiant Spore was crap, I have no idea that how come Radiant Spore is the strongest foe I have vanquished and not Adra or Alpine Dragon or Llengrath or Concelhaut etc..... And this makes me wonder about other stats on CRP....if they are correct.....
  2. There is just too much content and the game doesn't keep up with itself, it doesn't scale steadily as player progress............. And hitting level cap when 1/3 of the game is still left, isn't a very good sign. Some people say levelling in this game is fast, which is not true, in PST or BG games, we gained levels at similar pace but those games scaled better with player's progress and had just enough content to roughly match with xp cap. We need higher level cap and better difficulty scaling in this game..........
  3. In your life.... But what about your soul's life? Or the hammer's experience. This is basically magic and soul magic at that. While a silly argument, I'm not seeing it as so completly out of character for the setting. It is out of the setting and not well thought about..............I made a post in this topic a yesterday, that specifically talks about what you said, you might have to scroll up a bit
  4. OK so in this campaign, after WM2 release, I hit level 16 before even starting Act 3, so how does it work out? Even if I up scale the enemies, will it be challenging? Because I found the last parts of Act 2 very very easy, too easy, that I don't see any point in keep playing this campaign, may be I ruined it by completing events of WM2 before ending Act 2............
  5. Yea I don't want them to take away item descriptions and the background stories of various items in the game or the books, I mean I love that stuff that contributes to the atmosphere and environment.............but the text of actual dialogue between characters, the questions and the explanations... that can use some polishing......I hate it when I ask Durance a dozen questions and then after half hour of reading lines upon lines, I realise that I didn't learn anything special, its just the same **** that he's been saying in different words, since he joined me and more or less the same stuff that everyone else has been telling me about........there is just too much redundancy at some places. Same thing that could be said in 50 words, is said in 200 words with a load of non-essential info detailing every slight action of the character you are interacting with......there is absolutely no need to go into that much detail, leave some room open for player imagination as well..........BG did a lot better with concised approach, although it could have used a bit more text but PoE has too much of it, imo.
  6. The same weapon focus gives you mastery over flails, estocs and wands. Honestly, it wouldn't shatter my suspension of disbelief even more if it applied to a greatsword or mace bound to my character's soul. Yea because these weapons are popular among a certain profession, and that would be Adventurers, they all fall under Adventurer's Weapon Group and a player has to spend a talent point to achieve mastery of this weapon group, however, with Soulbound Weapons you do not have to spend talent points in the corresponding Weapon Group Focus Talent but you still get full grand mastery based on your skill in an entirely different Weapon Group. e.g. if you have the Weapon Focus in Adventurers Weapons Group and if you try to use a Soulbound Weapon from Noble Weapons Group , say e.g. a Scepter or a Mace, you do not have to spend any talent point in Noble Weapons Focus to master the weapon instead you will automatically get the bonuses in using that Soulbound Mace on the basis of your mastery in Adventurers' Weapon Group.....................this makes Weapon Focus Talents more or less useless as this mechanics defeat the purpose of having Weapon Focus Talents and gives away free mastery of some of the strongest weapons in the game, its probably the cheesiest mechanics I have seen in any cRPG..... But this is all mentioned in the original post of this topic, did you read it?
  7. Wrong absolutely wrong......you are only looking at the attack and damage numbers (even though they are not so different) and you are completely ignoring the massive edge soulbound weapon procs and spells provide, which make soulbound weapons overall better, not to mention they provide much greater utility and you can build your party around the soulbound weapon procs and the spells they provide...... And BTW there is a massive cost associated with making your unique weapon numbers comparable to soulbound weapons as you have to enchant those weapons with, quite hard to come by ingredients, as the game has very limited ingredients available for superb and legendary enchantments and you have to kill quite hard enemies to obtain them and then you have to make a decision as to which weapon you want to upgrade......... With soulbound weapons you get full grand mastery right from the point when you pick them up, on the account of your skill in what may be an entirely different weapon class (which is entirely ludicrous, how the hell does my excellent skill with wands, make me an excellent war hammer wielder?) and it takes may be less than an hour, even 15 mins in cases of some items, to fully unlock the spells. This is so un-cRPG like, cRPGs like BG or PST would never have given us full mastery of best weapons in the game without any cost.........
  8. Thats kind of stupid though that ranger pet kills do not count as ranger's kills on the records page......
  9. And how the hell am I able to bind a weapon to my soul right then and there and then sever the bond whenever I want without suffering any penalties that may or may not go away........ The penalty of severing the weapon is that it reverts to how it was when you found it and all the time you spent levelling it up was wasted. Yea but what about my soul, how can it withstand the severing without any cost.........
  10. To you may be........ I have defeated the game on PotD and I can safely say soulbound weapons are definitely the top class weapons in the game, although 14 / 14 durgan steel enchanted weapons are more or less same in power. But here the issue is different and it is about getting free and full grand mastery with soulbound weapon on account of a character's skill in an entirely different class of weapons, it just not right RP-wise........
  11. Its a poor game design thats what it is ............. soulbound weapon is meant to be bound to your soul, but you shouldn't know automatically how to use it with maximum skill on the grounds of knowing how to use an entirely different class of weapon........ I am excellent with wands, how the hell does that make me excellent with war hammers the moment I pick them, soulbound or not? It should work like, I picked up a war hammer, bind it to my soul and now I should work to make myself skilled at its use because I am bound to the damn thing, i shouldn't become grandmaster of war hammers right away, I have never used one before in my life........ And how the hell am I able to bind a weapon to my soul right then and there and then sever the bond whenever I want without suffering any penalties that may or may not go away........ EDIT: Also according to your logic a player shouldn't encounter any armor penalties from the soulbound Breast Plate then, because its bound to their soul, shouldn't they be as proficient with its use as they are without any armor, because its not really a separate piece of metal, its part of their soul....
  12. Well this is a seperate problem, you should ask Obsidian to include soulbound versions of these weapons if you want.........but giving away full grand mastery of a weapon that is already one of the best in the game is just aweful........and seriously why would a blessing for arquebus work for a war hammer? is that diety stupid or something? Also if you enchant a unique weapon to 14/14 it does become more or less similar in power as a soulbound weapon...... But giving away free and full grand mastery of a weapon that is already one of the best in the game on the basis of your skill in entirely different weapon class, is just nonsense. My wizard excellent skill with a wand is allowing him to use a great sword with full grand mastery bonuses.....how does that sound?
  13. Hmm......yea but what I am saying is that this rule is not right RP-wise and kind of defeats the purpose of various blessings and weapon specialisations in the game and the fact that player can pick up and bind and unbind a soul weapon without any cost and use it with full grand mastery bonuses without any cost just doesn't seem right.... Its probably the cheesiest mechanics that I have seen in any game that claims to be cRPG genre......
  14. What are you talking about mate? Blessing of Eothas is only for Flails and Morning Stars, why do you want it to apply to other weapon categories, soulbound or not, it would defeat the purpose of the Blessing.........a true disciple of Eothas won't even use much of any other weapons knowing that his diety does not favour other weapons.....remember this is a role playing game.......and we want it to make sense roleplaying-wise........ If you want soulbound flails / morning star then you should raise this issue to Obsidian seperately, but a blessing for flail should only work on flail and not on short bows and wands etc....... This is absolutely ludicrous.......goes against everything that cRPGs are known for.......I would never dream of using any other weapon (soulbound or not) than flail or morning star on my Priest of Eothas because it will just kill my RP spirit and defeat the entire lore of Eora, my game wouldn't make any sense....... P.S. 14/14 enchanted unique flails and morningstars can be better than many soulbound weapons.....
  15. Respec cost is nothing.......I still have about 145k gold left in my stach (even after buying almost every magical item in the game), and to retrain my level 15 / 16 characters it only cost me 1750 gold . And it was not like I was trying to make gold in this game, I wasn't even thinking about gold and then I noticed that I have about 150K accumulated over time from quests and random loot, so cost of respec'ing is super super cheap in this game. I believe they did, although I am not entirely certain but I believe they did have respec'ing tool available before WM1, because I vaguely remember myself respec'ing before WM1 came out but I could be wrong...........but still even if they didn't have respec'ing available back in vanilla they still had plans to introduce it and they knew, so it still doesn't make sense to make soulbound weapons universal? Or perhaps they did it to popularise soulbound weapons among players, you know to sell the idea to players.........
  16. But you can respec, so what's the point of this free give away full grand mastery of a weapon...........doesn't make sense even roleplaying-wise........
  17. Thats what respec'ing is for ............... And to be honest i think it also adds to the replayability of the game, you can always replay the game with another class or another variation of the class designed for using the desired weapon you want to use (e.g first time a dual wielding cavalier and second time carsomyr wielding inquisitor, in case of your BG example) if not then PoE also offers respec'ing tool as mentioned above ........ So giving away a free full mastery of a weapon is kind of cheesy, imo.
  18. OK can someone explain to me why Soulbound weapons are universal and receive accuracy bonus from any category of weapons proficiency focus talent and doesn't require player to actually specifically spending a point in the proficiency talent for weapons' category that's actually related to the soulbound weapon or doesn't require a proper soulbound weapons specialisation? E.g My Paladin is wielding the soulbound war hammer (which is a soldier's weapon) and she doesn't have soldiers weapons focus talent but she does have adventurers weapon focus talent and she is getting the +6 bonus from adventurers weapon focus talent with this soulbound war hammer , even though a war hammer is a soldier's weapon and not an adventurer's weapon. Someone told me its because Soulbound weapons are universal.........to that I say its lame.....what's the real reason behind this? Because it just simply doesn't make sense, it makes weapon focus talents lose their significance......feels like soulbound weapons specialisation is sold for free...... Pretty sure PST or BG games would not have given soulbound weapon proficiency for free....and I thought this game was meant to be spiritual successor to such cRPGs that would make you break your back for good stuff.......
  19. Actually I'll just start another topic about soulbound weapons because this topic title doesn't reflect where this discussion is heading. Because at first I thought its some kind of glitch with weapon accuracy mechanics .......lol.
  20. To help you with your secondary weapon or if you don't want to use a soulbound weapon at all, or before you get one. I dont understand, what do you mean? how does it help before I get one or with my secondary weapon? i think it just makes weapon proficiency talents useless......care to explain? thanks........ What do you mean why wouldn't I be able to respec for that? And why would I wanna respec for it? I could just take one more proficiency talent related to diety weapon or soulbound weapon? It just seems like its a cheesy way to avoid spending points in weapon proficiency talents......
  21. Are you sure? And if its true then why is it so because this seems kind of dumb, whats the point then to spend a point in a specific weapon proficiency talent?
  22. Is really the strongest enemy in the game? I have killed Alpine Dragon and Adra Dragon too but my Party Records tab keeps showing the above as the strongest enemy vanquished by my party............ I mean I didn't really find it that difficult.......I still think that either Alpine and Adra Dragon are the two strongest enemies in the game.
  23. Just found out that I am getting +6 Adventurer Weapon Proficiency Talent bonus even with two handed War Hammers, although War Hammer is not an Adventurers weapon its a Soldier's weapon according to the game...
  24. I have noticed some inconsistencies in weapon accuracy stat on character details page, is there a known bug associated with it? Or am I just simply missing something.......... Now my Paladin has Adventurer Weapons Proficiency talent which gives him +6 Acc with Estocs, and she is wielding that soulbound Estoc Greysleeper which gives +12 (superb acc) and the Paladin's total Acc score with Estoc is '111' But when I wield Abydon's Hammer (soulbound warhammer) which gives +18 (Mythic Acc) her total Acc score becomes '117' even though I don't have Soldier Weapons Proficiency talent, which is the weapons category for war hammers. So I lack the proficiency with war hammers which means I am missing +6 bonus from the proficiency talent for war hammers but I am getting additional 6 accuracy from Abydon's Hammer being a Mythic weapon (i.e. +18 Mythic instead of +12 Superb)................However, with Estocs, I have the +6 proficiency talent bonus but I am only getting +12 Superb from the Greysleeper.................so my total Acc should be same with both weapons i.e. '111' but I am getting '117' with Abydon's Hammer and '111' with Greysleeper, so now I am wondering where am I getting these additional +6 points in my Acc with Abydon's Hammer even though I lack the proficiency talent with war hammers....... I have noticed similar differences with other weapons on other characters........is there an additional mechanics here that I don't know about or is it some kind of bug? Thanks
