  1. Hi does this game have aim assist on consoles? Someone told me that gun play on consoles is not very good because aiming is virtually impossible with a controller in absence of aim assist, is this correct? I have both, a strong gaming PC and PS4 Pro. I myself prefer M & K/b for FPS (RPGs). However I wanted to get this one on my PS4, to be able to play this in my living room and share the game time with my family. But if aiming is an issue on PS4 then I would rather get it on PC. Pls advise
  2. To OP, no point in criticising anything about this game on this forum, its teeming with fanboys and 5 year olds... Come to reddit to have meaningful discussions and to get realistic and useful tips about strats and builds........ This game's difficulty curve and scaling is badly messed up as the devs failed to manage it properly, its a known fact so there is no point in wasting any breath about this......many gaming websites have also highlighted this in various articles and online shows......
  3. Well? Only the highest, highest level of detail has been provided about the game thus far, and I assume a lot of that has to do with the fact that there's a publisher in the picture this time. It might be a while before you get any information about the religious leanings of the game world. We still don't even know if this is going to be a real time vs. turn based game, 2D vs. 3D, Isometric vs. some other perspective. We're a powerful evil guy though... so likely not going to be making attending Sunday morning church services too great of a priority. Well the Devs, surely know, they can say either 'Yes' or 'No' to what I asked, not asking them to divulge any more than that....... Honestly, not looking forward to suffer any pontification from Josh and his people about their personal convictions, this time around.........PoE final act was a bad enough experience already.... There is nothing wrong with being evil, I have played evil characters in other RPGs and served evil gods and enjoyed it very much but my problem is when someone start shouting their personal convictions in my ear, pushing me into the dark narrow corridors of their personal ideologies with no windows or doors to an alternate or opposing thought system. PoE final act was literally a horror in this regard, definitely not looking forward to go through such horror all over again....... That is why I asked what I asked and would sure love to know the answer with either a 'Yes' or a 'No', don't care about any details.
  4. I hope not, but if it is then people must know...... EDIT: I just hope you guys don't roll with another pulpy cliche posing 'Gods / Deities as Tyrants' in this one lol.
  5. i think its more about how confrontational his tone is which, if you were wondering, is what makes a troll a troll Beyond just macho swagger I don't understand why people feel the need to trash games for being WAY TOO EASY BRO when I'd say about 95% of the people who play this game find it plenty challenging. So you've mastered it. Move on, do something else. Stop acting like its the game's fault. I'd love to see a chess master moan about how easy chess is. OP is right, specially after WM release the game is piss easy, those atheists messed up badly on difficulty curve in this game and someone who did not play this game before WM, is pretty much going to be dumbfounded by absolutely crappy difficulty scaling in this game......
  6. Don't try to make sense of things in this game, there is just so much out of place.......just play it with your mind's eye closed.
  7. Because its awesome to see your characters intelligently moving / manoeuvring around the battlefield, and you know that you made it happen by setting a particular combination of strategies. Its not like a movie at all. It imparts an enormous sense of accomplishment and fulfilment to the user / player.....it makes you think about countering enemy moves in advance and prepare yourself for upcoming battles in unique ways, it also allows the game to offer players more difficult and challenging encounters (as it provide devs more room and options to play with) and allows the players to have an excellent tool to better manage these intelligently designed superior challenges. Can't imagine why anyone would consider current AI setting options sufficient for this kind of game, most of the settings are dumb and make you waste your spells / abilities in one way or another. One should never do anything half-ass, either give us a comprehensive AI strategy setting system, or don't do it all. I normally keep the AI settings turned off at all times, i even forgot that it exists, its simply that bad. Not sure why its so 'completely beyond you'? There must be a lot that goes beyond you, I am guessing... Thats funny Brimsurfer, for someone who has like 4 threads running where you refuse to change your opinion about something and repeat the same arguments over and over to rile up the other members, I assumed you were our resident forum user for whom things are completely beyond understanding. As for the AI, I think pathfinding could have been resolved better, but I dont really need a beefy AI. I agree that Dragon Age's AI system was FUN to play with, but I ultimately exercise to much control to care if such a system is implemented again. Thanks for the reminder of that AI system, I kinda miss it, might visit Dragon Age again. If DA:O was your only and best experience with such an AI system then I don't know what to say to you......... P.S. First paragraph of your post is misguided and has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

  9. game play is good but writing in this game is entirely bogus and unrefined and the world philosophy is flawed and has wholes in it......doesn't feel like a proper professional and finished product in some regards.... .
  10. ^ that's what I said, I have realised that Paladins in this game are not my cup of tea, I find them disappointing.....IMO its a very bad class design, although people may disagree and that's fine with me, but some how people are not fine with this....... I just wished that Paladins were some how viable, but I find them useless.........and I want to play many classes, 'nobody has any right to tell me that if I don't like a class then I should play another....', and whoever thinks that they can say this to me, I'll tell them to F themselves..........you did not pay out of your pocket and bought me this game, I paid my good money for this game so I had some expectations from this product, it passed in some regards and it failed in some....... but for some reason people on this forum only want to hear good things about this game and any criticism is greeted with evil scorn....... but still if I don't like something about this game, I will make sure to post it here and fanboys will just have to deal with it........
  11. Pallegina Order Abilities > Protagonist Orders Abilities And you get Sacred Immolation at level 13, that's way too late, that's almost near the end of the game and so we can safely say that protagonist paladin is pretty much reduced to zealous aura and the exhortation.......and honestly i don't find exhortations appealing....... so its basically zealous aura that they are sort of good for......I find this class quite underwhelming, don't see any reason to play it..... I think its a bad class design, some think its good but I find it quite bad and unappealing.............not my cup of tea, an utter disappointment for me......
  12. And why do you ask this? Did you not read my last post? Does it suggest what you are asking?
  13. Developers don't know how to balance the system they created so they are dumping stats over which ever attribute, no matter how nonsensical it is, trying to make the system work..........but its all nonsense........ Character Resolve has never played a primary role in enabling someone to deflect incoming hits in physical fights, may be it does contribute some what partially because a person's strong mental and emotional state does contribute on some level to all his actions, but there is no way that Resolve should be the primary attribute dictating entirely, if a character is able to deflect incoming hits or not.......it must be either Perception, Dexterity or Might or perhaps all three of them partially..........
  14. I just wish that we stop rationalising and stop using our imagination to try to make sense of something nonsensical .......... You can't stop or deflect a blow with low Perception or Might or Dexterity......how will you back up in hurry with low Dex or how will you block it directly with little physical strength or without acute awareness of enemies' movements, specially when you are surrounded with them? Next time when someone try to punch you in the face, lets see if you can deflect it with your inner determination and emotional intensity......or perhaps you can but I can't do it.........
  15. I still can't get my head around how Resolve contributes to Deflection instead both Constitution and Resolve should partially contribute to DR.........
  16. Yes, I must have imagined an extra 20 Fort/Reflex/Will on my paladin. /s Since your opinions have no basis in fact, you can only falling back to ad hominem attacks as a last resort. You have not at any point during this thread grounded your complaints in logic or facts. You're not after help, just a soapbox to make irrational rants. No point feeding a troll any further; it's what the ignore user feature's for. Your perceived degrees of usefulness of skills are entirely subjective, what I have seen myself in the game negates that......
  17. Paladins are not (designed as) tanks, simple proof is that they do not have any class talents dedicated to tanking, they are meant to be resilient frontliners with support abilities in combination with some offensive skills........and now their base deflection and endurance both are dumbed down to average in comparison to actual tank classes which start with high or very high base deflection......in my experience this whole package is pretty underwhelming, they are only good for removing a couple of conditions and casting their zealous aura, which ain't really much in comparison to other classes and how they fill their roles........ I guess I must have imagined the time my paladin tanked Alpine & Adra Dragon alone, sans buffs, for over a minute while the rest of my party cleaned up the adds since you insist paladins can't tank. I assume by "actual tank classes" you mean classes like fighters? Let's have a look at their tanking abilities then: 1. Constant Recovery - worse than Lay on Hands 2. Knockdown - see Overbearing Guard 3. Defender - got nerfed into the ground and now lowers deflection. Worthless. 4. Guardian - a wash with Reinforcing Exhortation 5. Vigorous Defense - so warriors have to take an ability to get a temporary +20 fort/will/reflex buff that paladins get for free all the time with Faith and Conviction. Okay... 6. Overbearing Guard - ok, I'll give you this one. Yes, paladins have no crowd control. Oh well, they can't do everything. 7. Fearless - frightened/terrified isn't as annoying as the confuse/charm/domination handled by Aegis of Loyalty, but either way you can use scroll/priest 8. Unbending - see Constant Recovery 9. Critical Defense - by the time you get this talent, your deflection should be so high that you'd only get crit once in a blue moon. Not terrible, but that strong an ability either 10. Unbroken - in my games, tanks are always the last to die, so if my tank is dying something's gone terribly wrong and I'm reloading anyway. If your tanks are regularly dying, you should do something about your tactics instead. I don't use "second chance" gear (like Argwes Adra) on my tanks either, so this ability's of no value to me 11. Take the Hit - good ability to protect a squishy rogue. Paladins would probably use Reinforcing Exhortation + heal through this, so I'll call this a wash. 12. Triggered Immunity - this is a nice ability. I'll give the nod to warriors here. So 1, 3, 5, 8 are straight up worse than paladins. 4, 7, 10, 11 are basically a wash. So it's just critical defense that's marginal and crowd control & triggered immunity that's better. Ok, so fighters have better damage spike protection. But you conveniently forget the fact that some of the hardest hitting bosses like dragons or Concelhaut do Fort/Reflex/Will attacks (like dragon breath attacks vs reflex, for example) and that those abilities are there to help fighters make up the 20+ deficit vs paladins on those defenses. You simplistically count up the number of tanking abilities and conclude fighters are "better tanks" because they have more tanking abilities without taking into account the underlying mechanics or take into account how strong a fully levelled up Faith & Conviction is. You look at that "low" base deflection paladins have, but don't include the deflection bonus that Faith & Conviction & favored dispositions will add back. As for base endurance, paladins & warriors are the same, so I don't know what you're talking about. Monks have higher health, but they need it because of the wounds mechanic. As for crowd control, it's definitely one point fighters have over paladins. But actually fighter knockdown/prone is not a particularly strong CC, and many classes can crowd control better like wizards or ciphers, so I'm happy to defer that job to them. Also paladins have skills like revive or haste buff that fighters don't have. If you're going to say paladins are a weak class, at least base it on the facts. But it's clear at this point that it doesn't matter how good or bad the class is, because you've already made up your mind that "paladins suck", based on some very narrow, preconceived, arbitrary ideas of how the class is "supposed" to work. Ideas that have nothing to do with in-game mechanics or lore. So just do everyone a favor and reroll, because you're never going to like this class. That's exactly what I meant by unrealistic advice, this topic is not about the usefulness of skills according to your imagination. PS. BTW I lost interest by the time I got to middle of your delusional post, didn't read the rest.......you can probably wake up now....

  19. You're the one who's complaining that you can "barely hit anyone". Bumping perception is the obvious solution to fixing that. But your counter-argument is, "no, I won't fix my perception because the game says so" even though that info is way out of date. Yes, the game should change that advice, but others have tried to update you with current info. If you won't be helped, stop wasting everyone's time. How can you say info is out of date, game is being updated on regular basis? He should have abilities that will allow him to be successful in melee with average Perception, specially if its not a preferred attribute (not expecting him to be DPS or anything but at least pull his own weight on the lines) the enemy just skips him or just simply disengages from him and he can't do anything to stop them, he also mostly miss his disengage attacks and just stand there watching them run by....... I do not expect him to hit enemies like a rogue or a monk but at least land couple of attacks once in a while, I don't think I should need high perception for a low dps character like this........
  20. For what it's worth, I recommend anyone to look up other posts by Brimsurfer on these forums and see whether you can't discover a pattern. In various other topics too, you will find a similar dynamics: complaining in a vague or obtuse manner;refusing to accept advise or criticism; refusing to clarify his own position; only to then repeat his same old argument and thus'stirring up the pot' again. As for me, I find it entirely unproductive in so far as that no matter which topic, Brimsurfer will refuse to advance the argument beyond his own original position. The sun is up and about and specifically on this forum a group of people tell me its midnight, what should I do? Should I believe them...... or trust my own eyes? There is a trend on this forum to blindly take sides with several lackings of the game and accept them as quite valid....... Its a game with good gameplay no doubt, but when I find something lacking or underwhelming and I come on this forum to talk about it, there is a group of people who give me unreal advice while glorifying that underwhelming aspect of the game .......... so I just simply stick to what I have been saying until I find something useful.........
