  1. Hehe thanks for input, I finally got dragon down but not with lvls 9-11 as I originally tried. Yea its all good on paper but it gets rather nasty if your priests gets stuck from one of the ghosts ranged attack or you get smacked in the face with unlucky breath. At those lvls I tried to do it it was down to RNG rly and it wasn't what I was ultimately wanting to achieve.
  2. Hey guys. So finally I'm nearing the end of my first playthrough. I'm mostly lvl 15(soon 16) on all chars and starting wm2 (just cleared stalwart mines), then thaos left and thats it. I had a blast! My party is OP beyond reason Wizard tank, Monk(something between juggernaut and fulmino), Backlash cipher, ranger(great white), priest, pellagina (support). Honestly this party just wrecks, sometimes I get nuked down on backlash if I dont know the fight but pellagina rez, priest rez... Most of the times I'm completely overwhelmed what action to choose becuase I have so many choices. Either by sending backlash into the fray and letting enemies melt themselves on her or just drown them with wizard CC but most of the times fight ends once I apply immunities with priest, throw champion boon on monk and reaping knives from cipher. After that cipher is CONSTANTLY at 160 focus, I can't even spend that spamming amplified wave O_o This is like ultimate I WIN combo so far. The only task I have is to CC to buy just enough time to start this. I'm leaning toward either new playthrough or a solo Potd run. Although I'm not sure I'll enjoy soloing actually, feels like soloing is testing how much you know to cheese the game and thats it although I guess you don't have to pause as much;p I feel like starting new playthough with some rly weird party. Like 5 rangers and a druid/chanter or create a church and have 5 paladins and a priest hah. What are your ideas for some rly crazy setups? P.S after killing radiant spore I'm wondering if its actually possible to solo full content including wm2 ?? I mean how would you deal with radiant spore encounter solo, lets say hard mode without freeing vithracks?
  3. Wizard Tank, as strong as it is for 99% of the game, crazy high deflection, being frontline for sick CC, I gotta admit its probably super bad choice for tanking dragons tho. Super low fortitude sadly;/
  4. Hah I love those forums already:P All it takes is throw a bone and action begins:P Thats insane! But following my op WOW! So you can actually use fist as "main hand" and dagger in left hand. Thats good to learn. As for reaping knives I thought I'm gonna get them at lvl 13 on cipher which is not the case so I'll progress with this dagger monk voyage meanwhile. Godbless respec option!
  5. I can't rly tell about story companions as with my first complete playthrough I opted for min-maxing self-made chars to learn about the game, mechanics and so on. In my eyes monk fullfill similar role to rogue although he's more tanky due to insane health pool thus require less babysitting, rogues on the other hand require a lot of setup for them to really shine, like enabling status effects on foes for sneak attacks... or even more status effects to enable devastating attacks, for me it was just too much hassle because in party with priest, tank wizard, cipher I had enough of micro to do so trying to squeeze the most out of rogue was a complete cluster**** for me. As to Monk tanking dmg, well the more dmg Monk takes the more dmg he deals due to wound mechanic, so thats what makes him interesting, you have to build around him with survival buffs so he takes dmg but sustain himself and destroy things. My favourite mechanic for Monk thus far is chanter phrase that makes Monk heal for 15% dmg he's doing and priest spell that makes char heal for like 5000 over 27 seconds after killing a target. With over 1800 hp my monk have at lvl 12 his endurance is constantly droping and toping but as long as he's not hard disabled by some **** he just carry my team beyond imagination. To give you example when I checked my stats on team, my ranger, that I build for a complete glass cannon had like 107k dmg done after 16h of playing. When I implemented Monk into my team at lvl 10 I think I played with him for next 6 hours and he catched up with my ranger O_o and my ranger is geared with Stormcaller so he's not like... bad. P.S pre lvl 13 i think Monk is just autoattack destroyer that you have to babysit with buffs, sustain mechanics, disable immunities. But he gets cool ability later on that creates elemental copies of himself or sth like that;P haven't seen that yet tho;p
  6. Yea by the time I was try-harding to take it down i had 4x11 1x10 1x9 in party, at some point, im pretty sure fight totally glitched out because I saw nearly 200 defenses on dragon and he started using his breath like minigun. At this point I nerd raged because it was a try I pretty much nailed with trash, positioning and buffing up, at this point I didn't even try using confuse scrolls so I've been killing all the trash by myself and used figurines to distract dragon as long as possible. Imagine how upset I got after killing all the trash, and having just dragon left, already "injured", all my party alive and well, minor wounds here and there and then "breath... breath... br...br... breath" I honestly downright alt f4'd the game
  7. Cipher: Twin Sting or Bow/Warbow? Twin Sting seem uber good on paper right? But Time Parasite buffs only attack speed so reload on crossbow kind off **** block it right? On the bright side it fires 2 projectiles as I've read somewhere so its instant amplified wave/whatever u need. Can't make my mind here. Monk: Stick to unarmed + reaping knives later or try some dagger builds? I have The Unlabored Blade in mind and some other good dagger. Wondering what would be better actually as I don't rly understand mechanics on monk... does Turning Wheel and Lightning Wheel stack with Scion of Flame / Lightning Talent / Weapon Lash enchantments? I've heard unarmed + reaping knives is ultimate combo as you can stack weapon specializations to achieve some crazy accuracy and that it also turns all sort of dmg Monk make into raw? Is that true? Mind blown... On the other hand it relies on cipher skill which is already unfair to compare...
  8. Ok, Mourning Gloves that is:P 1 more level and ill be able to test monk with reaping knives from cipher... cant wait;)
  9. Wondering which of those to use on monk. How Mourning Gloves work? They stack with itself? For example can you stack like infinite attack speed etc? or it just refresh duration for defenses, atk speed, concentration? but give u 15 endurance heal each kill?
  10. Yea i guess so, well I guess I've done pretty good being able to get him down to badly injured atleast:)
  11. Meh this is impossible, clearing trash is easy but dragon alone reks my party to shreds, theres is no possible combination of buffs to let anything tank this ****er, if I follow advice to just send my tank and priest left the dragon just spams breaths becuse he can't reach them with auto attacks... I dont need to mention how it works for poor tank and priest right? Its literally breath after breath after breath if he can't reach anything to hit in melee. My best bet for clearing trash so far is just to spam figurines while buffing up, hexing with wizard and **** like that but then as I mentioned, I'm left alone vs dragon and he just destroys my party alone. My monk doesn't seem to do ****, the only dmg that I can get thru is from ranger and cipher thru tactical meld and body attunement but its just too ****ing slow. Getting tired of this crap... I guess ill just come back here when im proper lvl. One breath just ****ing kills half of my party right away... this fight is 90% reload galore, what a joke. I think something is wrong with my game actually, I watched how ppl do it on youtube and if this worked the same on my game it would've been such a breeze. First thing I noticed is that alpine dragon ppl fight on utube have like 120 defenses, 130 will etc. Mine got nearly 200 O_o no wonder I can't ****ing land **** on it. I think something bugged out with scaler I forced to use via console. It got scaled to oblivion apparently. Oh well... rip my playthrough, gotta restart... I tried to cheese and trap it behind Withdraw targets, it works but as I mentioned dragon gets pissed off really hard that he can't reach anybody and starts shooting breath like m45, its literally SPAMMING breaths non stop, one animation isn't done yet, he already cast another.
  12. Oh that withdraw trick is super smart, but I don't wanna do it this way, I'm sure with that approach I could just trap poor dragon between Withdraws forever and just shoot him to death but since I didn't kill Adra Dragon but freed it instead I want to achieve a legit kill on a dragon:P I feel this ain't gonna be my last playthrough tho:P
  13. Hey guys, what was the lowest level of your party when you killed adra/alpine dragons? I just managed to scale up WM I (problem I had in my previous topic) and I gave it a try with alpine dragon. My party is 4x lvl 11 - wizard tank, chanter off tank, priest, cipher, lvl 10 ranger and lvl 9 monk. I don't have much problems clearing all the adds with all the summons (ogres from chanter, essential phantom from wizard, bear pet from ranger + 4 figurines to buy time) not to mention confuse and hex spells from wizard, meanwhile at the start of combat dragon cant rly touch any of my chars because he's blocked by his own adds. But once I clear some adds and dragon actually get to my tank... ugh... with all the buffs stacked I think im touching like 250 deflection on him and he still lands hits... and im telling you... getting hit on wizard is not fun, I can survive just 2 hits, seems 250 deflection doesn't impress dragon one bit. Any idea how to actually tank this guy? Is there anything in game that would allow me to stand toe to toe with it for atleast 10 seconds? I tried few times and everytime I have a clear room with just dragon left I have my monk down, pet down and I just don't have enough tanking time to get it down, most of my tries ended with injured state on dragon, best one was badly injured but thats it. Is it just I'm too low lvl for that? Ofc Im talking Potd difficulty
  14. Oh nice, ill dig that then, if nothing I can always just leave my lvl 9s in stronghold and just hire a lower lvl party for WM:) tho I think that lvl 10 wizard tank alone will make it too easy:) Actually... Maybe ill just solo it as lvl 10 wizard tank? Its not a build for solo as it has like zero might but still? what u think guys?
  15. Ye I ****ed up then, I went WM just to grab the bow and then I went on to do bounties and endless paths, I completed mostly all side quests in defiance bay and surrounding zones, dunno when but it got me to lvl 10 on main and 9 on rest. It was time to returd to WM, I was pretty confident ill be able to scale it up :/ I guess I just have to faceroll it then ;/ too bad alpine dragon will be super easy right?
  16. So if I once entered WM it will stay scaled to level that I originally entered with? There's no option to scale it up now when I came back there?
  17. Nah honestly I wanted it to be some AI function for my lulz future playthrough with like 6 ciphers:P imagine 6 ciphers spaming thrusts on its own, nothing would reach them
  18. Hi. How can I scale WM I difficulty? I went to WM on lower lvl becuse I rly wanted stormcaller bow so back then I didn't get option to make it harder. But now I got lvls 9-10 and im going back to WM, but I'm not getting option to scale it up
  19. I think normally it does. But the one from the cloak doesn't! It is the best stronghold item I know of, when you put it on a low deflection character. I put it on my low deflection monk with shod in faith, and that cloak goes off every fight and pretty much wins every fight it goes off in. Lots of damage, long duration stun, hits usually all of the enemies. It is now officially my favorite item. One time it went off when my monk was charmed, though. Killed my party and didn't touch the bad guys. Oh, and the wave reflects off walls. In small rooms it absolutely murders everything. I also got this cloak, its imba, i actually put it on my wizard tank as I don't rly like keeping an eye on all his defensive buffs, when cloak effect goes off I got instant indicator "Oh my wizard tank got hit? some buff must've wore off"
  20. What do you mean? Like there is a way to do it or you mean devs should implement a filtering system like that?
  21. Just got it from stronghold adventure: Gives 1 per rest dimensional shift +12 reflex Gave it to my rogue and i gotta say it works soooo GOOD, leaves a stun beam behind me that stun for 5 sec, with rogue high accuracy it lands on everything
  22. Ah ok it works, have to have focus for multiple thrusts before issuing commands tho. I hoped its possible to line up commands for like 4-5 thrusts even if cipher got focus just for 1 at the time of issuing them (because thrust generates focus on its own if it hits hard enough) p.s or am i wrong?
  23. Any way to force my cipher to spam Amplified Thrust like a madman with some AI setup? Using agressive setup makes him use some utterly **** abilities sadly. I feel like this is the ability that takes the most of my time babysitting, I'd rather manually operate my wizard tank, priest buffer and rogue and have cipher just casually nuke whenever he got focus, which is pretty much all the time once he start using thrust.
