Although I'm surprised the Necromonger way worked. I wouldn't think the entire organisation would suddenly accept him just like that. Well damn, I completely forgot about that. You're right. According to show information, Lannisters at their best can raise about 60k and they're not at their best and likely had to leave sizeable contigents to defend the capital among other things, while house Tyrell fields 100k. How the hell did the Lannisters beat them? I don't remember their fancy army being decimated in the plot. From the show's Wiki: Unless the Tyrell's were somehow incredibly damaged by that march, I don't get it. I doubt the defection of House Tarly closed a gap of 40k. EDIT: Hold on, wasn't the Tyrell army deployed to siege the areas supplying King's Landing under the belief the Lannisters would be defending Casterly Rock? That could make up the difference, and I suspect a portion of them were lost while being carried by Yara's fleet. Still, incredibly unclear and unlikely, especially since we saw the Lannisters march upon Highgarden without siege weaponry.

I have several things to say about that person but the language filter won't let me, so instead I say +1 to Azdeus' suggestions.

Varys lost his touch.

Omg. The story of GoT is actually progressing? Shock!

Yeah, here it always ends up being party A vs party B. Which parties are A or B varies, but the issues of the day and who most easily takes advantage of that generally cause an unintended two party some time before the election.

Movies You've Seen (or would like to see) Recently

Eh, agree to disagree. I thought Pennywise turned into a bit of a wimp when they were adults. He taunted them a lot with creepy things but it always felt like posturing. Took a lot of the tension and fear away. -
Still on my nostalgic Linkin Park kick since Chester Bennington died when I came across this: A mashup of 12 different songs because they sounded quite similar. Hey, I never said they were original. But it actually works quite well.

Nerdgasm: Movies and Shows for Geeks and Nerds

I don't know what to do with that. Can anyone clue me in on Ready Player One? Is it good? What's it trying to be, pop culture the movie? This has such a cool look. Bit too many moneyshots though. Shoulda saved Fenris and Surtur as reveals in the film, IMO. -
Yeah, I always figured he wasn't very important to the story because of that. In the show, so far anyway, I feel justified in that. I don't know if he's ever had a bigger role to play in the books. I've read a lot about the books, but I haven't read the books. I got halfway through the first book before I realized that it was only 25% story and 75% those for-fans books of extended universe stuff, and if I want to know THAT MUCH background stuff I'll just get an encyclopedia or go to the wiki. I realize the point of grounding the world in realism and history to make it immersive as hell, and it works well, I just thought it was overkill and made the book a slog to get through for me personally.

Director, when asked if Pennywise true form in this is a spider, gave a firm NO. Hints are that he's going more Lovecraftian with it (for example, in this trailer the originally described "spiderwebs" seem to be people levitating in eerie light). I think the new It trailers look fantastic, and the director's debut "Mama" was visually stunning despite producer Guillermo del Toro's meddling fingerprints. Normally I love Guillermo, but I feel like he imposed a bit too much fairy-tale horror feeling on that picture and didn't give the director enough space. His short film that was based on, also titled "Mama", is pretty terrifying. Not many short-films manage to create a horror image that I can't forget. It's a great story, I hope they can do it justice. Much more worried about the intended sequel about the children coming back as adults, in both the book and mini-series those were the weakest parts. -
Man, I should go for my driver's license some day. I'm getting close to 30... but mandatory driving lessons here are pretty expensive, and I have a slight traffic-phobia that makes me not trust myself with a combustion-driven hunk of speed metal. >_>

I'm giving Euron the benefit of the doubt, but my patience is wearing a bit thin. I'm hopeful because the actor emphasizes that Euron is someone different for every situation. Now he was a screaming, intimidating pirate. With Cersei he was a confident rock-star. When killing Balon he was stoic. When he confronted Theon and Arya alone, he was a serial killer. With the Ironborn at the Kingsmoot he was the ultimate expression of the Ironborn way of life. When he faced Theon, he channeled the provoking nature of Ramsay Snow, who never forbid Theon from stuff, he just provoked him into making mistakes to forcefully punish him. The problem is, he always seems a bit thuggish while doing so too, and that makes him seem more one-note. So I'm hoping we'll see some more different sides to him, and that they go a bit into his history as the most feared pirate, the myth of him being the only one to sail beyond the known sea and coming back, and his reputation as something of a magician/warlock that he has in the book.

I can't imagine how, since the Spawn comics make me cringe by themselves.

On Chris Cornell's birthday no less, and Chris and Chester were good friends and as far as I know, Chris was his idol.

Chester Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park, reportedly committed suicide. I spent a significant part of my angsty childhood listening to his angsty screaming, so that makes me a bit sad.

Michael Keaton wasn't in Antman, was he?

Man, I saw a negative review of Dunkirk and Nolan fanboys were ripping into the reviewer. Then I checked Rotten Tomatoes and found the few negative reviews have the same thing. I try not to have other people's opinions or actions influence my enjoyment of movies or games, but that kind of behaviour makes me sad. Also, so many accusations of being clickbait or paid shills - is it so hard to understand these days that someone might just have a different opinion? Doesn't affect my decision to skip the film for now and wait for home release - Nolan movies (the non-Batman ones anyway) tend to be attention-intensive and I prefer to watch them in the comfort of my own home where I can pause and rewind at my leisure. I enjoy them more that way. I had to take an emergency bathroom break during Interstellar's theater showing and completely didn't understand the rest of the film at the time. Nothing worse than one and a half hour of trying to catch up with what's going on.

Really? Hm, I find those films some problems but I didn't think anything was wrong with Chris Evans. He ended up being a much more solid Captain America than I expected, but maybe those expecations made me appreciate him more.
