No reason to ever let Sten out of the cage.

"Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game" doesn't start with 'I'.

This is why you don't take steroids, kids.

it's too bad because that character(Kai leng) had potential and i heard that was totally different in the books he used guns and knives and instead of being a space ninja he was a total badass, written the same guy who did the first game's story but in ME3 If you count stealing breakfast cereal and peeing in vases to be badass, sure.

1TB Blu-rays have been mooted...

You're good to go, definitely no point in upgrading Sandy Bridge for a number of years yet.

I don't feel ME1's combat was meaningfully worse than its sequels, indeed it's superior in a couple of ways - less dependence on cover and better-feeling biotics (Charge aside). And it's not a case of rose-tinted goggles because I played ME2 first. The worst time I've had with raw gameplay in any ME game was playing an Adept in ME2: aside from a few telegraphed "hey, you should totally thow those enemies we'ce placed on this convenient balcony" moments, all my spells felt more or less like slower, weaker bullets.

So I've tried to think back on this year and there aren't actually very many games that I can say I'm 'done' with and therefore am in a position to rate. Indeed only three, and one, The Banner Saga, I can only give an N/A because I abandoned it less than an hour in due to the gamey "don't kill anything" strategy it demands. So, er, yeah, MM10 6/10, MK8 7/10, everything else score pending. It's weird to think about because it's no contest in that it's a no-brainer to say that this year has been a much better year in gaming than 2013, which may have been the worst gaming year I can remember. But I gave Monaco an almost perfect score, and I don't feel any single title will even get near it this year. So lots of good games, but no standout as of yet.

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Humanoid replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
Well, if it was any other MMO, they'd probably 'fix' the issue by banning anyone who used it, so there's one point for EA at least...- 505 replies

Now that's putting me in a weird position of wanting to defend Skyrim. I can flat out say that Skyrim is the only Bethesda game I can say wasn't a complete waste of money. Might seem a case of damning with faint praise, but hey, it's an achievement no matter how many issues it has. Oblivion, on the other hand, handily makes my 'worst games of all time' list. (Morrowind and Fallout 3 bored me, but not to the point of pure loathing)

Should have just stolen the Sims 4 CAS tool. Use it as standard for all EA games. Hell, Madden with a bunch of Sims would be awesome.

While I assume it is indeed easier than before, Aard was the only thing I used on him back in the day too, after more elaborate strategies failed. Just spammed attack then hit Aard the moment he blocked one.

I was more or less away from 2004 to 2012, but not sure that counts.

The BS1 re-release was a "Director's Cut" with additional content, mostly involving playing as Nico and covering her backstory (in the original release you never play as her). Some people feel that compromised the pacing of the game, but I didn't mind it, more puzzles are more puzzles. The BS2 re-release on the other hand is just a graphical enhancement and update of the UI.

It was the one game in the series where the development was largely outsourced. Rights are probably a bit messy for it, took ages to appear on GOG as well, and physical copies also hard to come by.
-
The last one that's arrived at the moment is Unrest. Excluding Kickstarter projects, it'd be Mario Kart 8 I guess.

CA should just go back to making Australian Rules football games. They made AFL 98 and 99.

The plus side is that we can also safely say that Black Isle didn't make Descent to Undermountain.

The KS box will be a Steam copy, backers who request a DRM-free copy manually will be sent an additional set of DRM-free discs.

LGA1150 will support Broadwell, being the next release, but the next release, Skylake, will absolutely use a new socket. It's a business decision: people don't realistically upgrade on consecutive CPU generations, but it's in Intel's interest to ensure people buy a complete new platform every 'upgrade' (which is a word that is rapidly losing meaning). Drop-in CPU upgrades are effectively a dead concept, and given the noises about BGA packages coming to CPUs in the near future - i.e. CPUs coming soldered to boards - it's certainly the direction the industry is heading. The Crossfire point is completely valid though. EDIT: Indeed it's confirmed that Skylake will be on the LGA1151 socket. Yep, one extra pin, it's like they're taunting us.

I'm tied to Media Centre because of the annoying licencing scheme for BD menus, which can't be displayed without officially licenced software players. You can now play decrypted (using something like AnyDVD or DVDFab) BD streams on XBMC without menus, so that's progress, but paid software like TotalMediaTheatre or PowerDVD is still required for full support, and they plug into Media Centre. The vendors, regardless of whether it's software or an actual hardware BD player, have to pay a royalty to the Blu-ray overlords to be able to support menus, so it's something that's not realistically coming soon to any free software.

Well going the other way then, you can save a little by going for a B85 motherboard, assuming you also don't plan to ever have more than one video card. EDIT: Might need a BIOS update if you're unlucky and get a board manufactured before the Haswell refresh was released early this year.

They'd need to partner with a third company to do the QA though.

I like that Valve has discovered that colours are an actual thing, yeah, but the actual implementation is horrendous. The search bar in particular, good god that's awful. Fortunately I don't have any reason to ever log into the Steam store anymore other than for quick checks of release dates and whatnot. Are the colours actually customisable, or is this whole 'discovery' thing just the ability to control what type of game is displayed on your front page? I have memories as a kid of making my dad change the colour scheme of XTree/Gold over and over for my amusement. I didn't even know what XTree was in those days...
