I'm not picturing Master Kavar and Talia having children. However, the exile and atton... (The exile could also be a man, you know ).

60 Hours of Hopeless Romancing
germi91 replied to subnubilus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, i like Kotor I generally. Here's why: -Kotor I offers a unique and more 'Star Wars' based story. Kotor II had too many elements which made it look like real life. -Somehow, it felt like Kotor II was missing... action. I don't mean killing Sith and soldiers. I mean, the fact that it doesn't feel like there is an enemy. I know they're supposed to be hidden and all, but it just didn't feel like the Sith weren't really a problem. Like there was no danger at all. -Kotor II had a more complicated story which is easily misunderstood. Even if you play 10 times over, you'll still be missing much of the story and will stil lbe confused with many aspects of it. -I really don't like the Influence system. It is impossible to get all the influence with all the characters, making you have to repeat the whole game just to listen to Mandalores' stories or to get GOTO to tell you everything he knows. -The game can be sometimes too easy or too hard, making it unpredictable. However, i have to admit that many things were improved in Kotor II as well. For example, the clothes, force powers, lightsaber forms, etc. I also like the Random loot generator. I also like the new feats and that you get to have a prestige class and you can level up to 40 (I really love Force Crush). This is just my opinion. I'm not trying to say this game sucks (Otherwise i wouldn't be posting here). I'm just saying that i was disappointed with it. It could've been a lot better. Still, it's a good game which i enjoyed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fair enough. Here's where I disagree: I thought both games were hit and miss regarding their "Star Wars feel". KotOR II was much more realistic to me, which might be what you're saying, but I preferred that. The lack of goofy characters was something that I appreciated (I don't mind a goofy droid here and there, but I don't like every other character being cartoony which happened a lot in the first game). This game did seem less urgent... you killed people, you didn't really have to defend yourself much. I thought the sheer amount of death being dealt was pretty over the top. But yeah, I can see what you mean. I don't think a complicated story is a problem, unless it's bull****. I have some minor quibbles, but on the whole I thought it was simply more mature. I didn't have trouble understanding it... but they did leave a lot to the imagination, which is good sometimes, but not... you know... when you're playing the whole game just to figure stuff out. I was excited to get to see more of Atris, and her showing at the end was pathetic and abrupt. I didn't like the influence system as much as I thought I would, but for different reasons. I won't get into it now. As for the difficulty, I don't know what you did, but my game was incredible easy. I never experienced anything difficult, believe it or not, which was somewhat of a dissappointment, but then again, it didn't bother me that much. I'm a Jedi, after all! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, it really depends on your taste. Personally, l like movies/games which are more 'loyal' to the original trilogy. For example, l loved R2-D2 and C-3PO and their arguing. T3 reminded me of that in Kotor II which is something l felt was improved. I recall someone mentioning the inmersion factor. This is the main problem l had with the game. The fact that it didn't feel like Star Wars at all. I didn't feel like I was part of the Star Wars story. But that's just me, since i'm a fanatic of Star Wars Sometimes sequels are better. Sometimes they're not. In my opinion, i think Kotor I had a better storyline which felt like it had more to do with Star Wars. I just didn't feel like Kotor II was true Star Wars. For me, Star Wars is more simple. It's supposed to be Good vs Evil or Evil vs Good with Fairytale Romance. When l play as the exile, i feel like he's just complicated and thinks about wether good or evil actually exist and how he is the 'wound' in the force. I think Star Wars is much more simple than that and it should've stayed that way. George Lucas should've stayed loyal to his first movies. That's my opinion. But like l said before, each person has his/her own taste. On a side note: I'm sorry Obisidian... l think you should let Bioware make the RPGs around here... no really, you should. And l know you're doing Neverwinter Nights 2, so... you'd better be loyal to the Forgotten Realms world! I love that D&D game and i want to see a hell good of a game -
So do I

Revan & the Exile's gender/alignment
germi91 replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, it's hard to accept that there is a canonical ending. I really don't care wether it's dark, light, male or female. All stories are alright, both for Revan or the Exile. (Off-Topic)And speaking of the original trilogy: For me, Star Wars ended with The Return Of The Jedi. I really hated the way Georgy made The Phantom Menace, The Attack Of The Clones and The Revenge of The Sith. Lucas seriously overused the special effects. Where's that puppet Yoda? Where are those simple starship figures? -
Too bad Vrook doesn't stay in his force cage. I would've loved to see him run around a dark pit with a Rancor.
-
You're quite right Kenelis. The characters generally aren't well developed. There's a lot of missing information and most of them are simply dull and simple minded (Especially Visas which, like you said, is easy to gain influence with).

Yellow is ze best color. Do not deny it! ... I always chooze ze yellow lightzaber color. Though zilver is cool too. Yez! That Atton iz a zneaky fellow. Curze you Atton, curze you!
-
Aaaah! So THAT was it! And l missed that setence two times (Though l did know that you could make Revan be a man or woman)! Time to replay the game!

*applauds* That needed either guts or a complete lack subtlety and tactfulness whatsoever. The community would appreciate it; if you dear artists wouldn't completely crush this guy. We need people who always speak their mind, whether it's wanted or not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Read my above comment. In no way i'm trying to provoke or start a fight by spamming or anything. It was merely a joke post. Like before, i'm sorry if it seemed offensive (Which judging by what you're saying it is).

Dark Side Energy in Freedon Nadd's tomb
germi91 replied to Jediphile's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I did finish the game.... twice. And there are still elements in the story l do not understand or things i've missed out. Like you said, l feel that i've missed out like.... half the game or something. -
Dear fellow Forum comrades, whom i do not wish to provoke: I have read that you can get Revan to be light-sided by choosing certain dialogue choices. Is this true? If so how? I always end up with Revan being Dark-sided.

1. Drawing Anime in a comic is called a Manga, wether you think it is or not. You might consider it a comic, but it is officialy a Manga. 2. I didn't say it was bad/horrible/terrible. 3. I was being sarcastic when l stated the 'policy' and when l wrote about wanting more 'proof', i was referring that l wanted to see more comics, because i found them funny. I'm sorry if i seemed offensive in any way. I never insult what anyone does. I'm very tolerant to anything (In fact, i'm very Socialist). I meant my post as a sarcasm/Joke.
-
Not bad... I mean, making a comic and all is a cool idea. HOWEVER! I had a personal policy which stated, 'If certain person is not from Japan, he/she will be unable to draw a pefect manga. Only Japanese people are able to do it'. Perhaps you've proven me wrong.... still, i'm not completely convinced! Show me more proof!

Dark Side Energy in Freedon Nadd's tomb
germi91 replied to Jediphile's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I didn't know you could get force powers or extra force points in the tomb.... 0_0 Next time l play through the game, i'll check EVERY corner of each planet. -
A dark Jedi tends to refer to a Jedi knight who has fallen to the dark side. For example, Revan was a dark jedi during the Jedi civil war. A Sith is a member of the Sith tradition, having it's own code and moral and understands the dark side better than a Dark Jedi. An example is Darth Sidious. Normally, a Dark Jedi is able to use force powers from both sides, but a Jedi or Sith understand better their alignments and have a code to follow, plus both sides have secrets which only true Sith or Jedi are allowed to know. The Dark Jedi are chaotic and tend to have their own goals. They can be good or evil.
-
Yup, which means i agree with you.
-
I believe Jediphile is right. Revan's objective was to prepare the republic against the true Sith threat. His primary goal was always to save the republic, despite falling to the dark side. It was a risk he knew he would have to take, as well as the fact that he had to leave his loved ones behind.

Perhaps the exile was never that strong with the force. The thing is, he drained most his power from others. It was his force bonds that made him strong, not his connection to the force.

It's probably a glitch, yes. Do remember that this game was rushed. Therefore -
Why the Masters didn't mention Kreia in K2?
germi91 replied to Masta Revan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You can't be sure if it's a fake name. It could be her real name since Darth Traya is a title like she mentioned. I could be wrong... but that's just my opinion. -
The tomb has changed me for the worse?
germi91 replied to Luke Skywhacker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's true, you can enter and leave the tomb with light side mastery or dark. You don't have to gain any dark side point. The tomb was... strange, though it made sense. The figure you see standing next to Revan is always there i think, whatever choices in the dialogues you make throughout the tomb. -
Vrook dialogue on Dantooine
germi91 replied to Luke Skywhacker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, but he still keeps his strict attitude. I never liked Vrook much. Maybe the game designers made him like that so that you would never like him and then here you'd see him helping you and catching you by surprise. -
