  1. I would welcome the feature. Starting the game at lvl12 will definitely help me get those hard achievements where surviving is a factor!
  2. I think the game will keep me happy through nostalgia even if the storyline and gameplay do not meet what BG/IWD were. Either way, I welcome it to the list of these types of games I will play through and I have already booked the 26th and 27th off work to delve into the game as much as I can as soon as I can. As someone else mentioned I am sort of glad I did not hear about this game prior to two weeks ago though. The anticipation would have killed me! I have never done Kickstarter before but I would definitely take part substantially if these guys do make a second game.
  3. It should take me a very long time. I will try to find as many quests and items and make my stronghold something to be proud of the first play through. The second play through I will try to get the achievements that will take lots of time (I am really hoping the "auto-save only on hardest mode with perma-death" is not one of them)
  4. I like the looks of the game from what I see here. Never even heard about the stronghold so that should be a good money sink =)
  5. Oh okay. Well I did just fine with BG etc I just don't remember the leveling back then and in Guild Wars it stopped at 20 heh. Thanks!
  6. So I was watching the videos in a seperate thread (http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70742-here-is-my-first-video-of-a-series-of-video-of-the-backer-beta-for-those-wo-bb-access/) and the narrator mentioned all skills up to level 12. I assume that is the max during the beta, so any idea what the max is for the released version? How far in are you Beta players getting into the game ?
  7. Since you don't really get XP for killing stuff in the game (you do to an extent, but once you learn all about them you get zip) I for one really hate the idea of endless respawns. In Dragon Age: Inquisition they've made the respawns pretty darn fast and once you're three levels above them you get no XP. So wadeing thru endless hordes of respawning stuff over-and-over-and-over is far more annoying then fun from my perspective. Respawns would be needed for crafting. Animals drop leather and hides etc etc that are needed
  8. Oop, I meant the portrait not the guy walking around lol. Thanks!
  9. I like GOG, I got my BG/IWD/NWN from them and soon enough Planescape Torment but until they get Achievements in there, I'll stick with steam. I did not know about the client they are developing though so I'll keep an eye out for that
  10. I heard you can have your own avatar in place of the default. If that's true what size and file type are we limited to use? I'd like to try getting something before the game releases =) Thanks,
  11. Any word on what these would/could be? It was a pleasant surprise to see listed when I bought the game from Steam and just curious if difficulty or never dying will be part of it. That will be an achievers nightmare with permadeath;)
  12. Dungeon Siege II. Got my Nature Mage up to 63. Few more runs and I'll start a new game in the Veteran (70+) world. Once that is done I'll stop. I started DSIII but I don't enjoy it nearly as much as I do DSII. If I still have time, IWD. I never played through the series yet and it'll be a good lead up to PoE =)
  13. Ah well, I'll see how much I enjoy the base game although I am very much excited to play it on release. I was just curious since it seemed to be already mentioned heh. If it turns out like TotSC I'd still be a happy gamer =)
  14. So I was reading about pledging etc when I logged in to see what that was all about. Seems it relates to crowd funding which is now done but it also mentioned the Expansion being funded by Obsidian. Are there actually details about an expansion already? Either in regards to story, mechanics, additions, changes, timeline etc? Thanks,
  15. I went with Steam because I read it has Steam Achievements.
