  1. Dang, Reajeasa said exactly what I wanted to say. <_<
  2. *sigh* I gotta do my report sometime. Curse my laziness.
  3. Better masks would definitely be a plus. I know this has been said a million times (like other things in this thread), but I gotta say it again: get a better DS appearance for the characters. Come up with something intimidating, not something that makes the characters look like they've aged 50 years and have the plague.
  4. Or pretty awesome, depending on who you are. ^_^ And boy, how about Big Ben? He definitely was the hero of the game, in more ways than one.
  5. The war made Europe stronger only becuase it was allowed to recover and it received help from us. But what about Europe after the war? It was practically in ruins. Same way after World War I. And don't just look at those two wars. Most wars leave a nation weakened afterward. Just look at France after the defeat of Napoleon, or the U.S. after the Civil War. Just look at any country involved in long conflicts. Just look at how the arms race in the Cold War weakened the U.S.S.R. The same would have happened with the Republic/galaxy - and it did happen. Aren't we forgetting the Republic was close to collapsing in the beginning of K2? The entire galaxy was weakened. It was ripe for the picking by any outside invaders, like the True Sith.
  6. Yup, anyone with eyes agreed that was an interception. I practically threw a tantrum when I heard that call. We also would have gotten another touchdown if Bettis didn't have a major fumble two yards from the end zone. I don't care what anyone says, THAT was a fluke.
  7. I suppose it would be rude of me to laugh at that... :D I haven't kept up with football in ages...are these two teams close to/in the playoffs or something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yup, both were in the playoffs. The quarter finals, to be exact. The Steelers were the underdogs in this game, seeing as the Colts were the top-seeded team and the Steelers even lost to the Colts before (I think the score was 28-7) in the season. But the Steelers ended up pulling off a major upset and defeating the Colts 21-18, even after a few bad calls against us, and a MAJOR fumble in the end zone that almost allowed the Colts to score a game-winning touchdown. Had Roethlisberger not made the tackle, it's likely the Colts would have come out victorious. The Colts also missed a potential game-tying field goal that would have taken it into overtime. Keep in mind this is American Football, just in case any of you Euros are confused.
  8. Cheated? No, we were the ones almost cheated. After a bad call from the ref on what SHOULD HAVE BEEN an interception, and then a fluke fumble, it was almost a miracle it didn't cost us the game. Avoiding the Language Filter is BAD! Fionavar
  9. Steelers: 21 Colts: 18 :D Way to go, guys.
  10. You know, I can't honestly said I've ever had a lot of east-European quisine before. I've had a decent amount of Arabic/Syrian food before. Mmm...hummus.
  11. The only thing I remember Shadowstrider doing as a mod is enforcing the "40 page rule". Which he enforced for maybe three threads. ^_^
  12. Look, don't post if all you want to do is spam. At least not until this thread reaches a few pages.
  13. Normally I don't post religious threads, especially since they tend to degenerate into flame wars, but I found this rather humorous and a little sad. LINK Basically, he's suing the Catholic Church for teaching Jesus existed. I don't know about you, but I find that the ultimate act of religious intolerance. What do you think? Discuss. And try to keep it civil, folks; I'll likely end up deleting this thread anyway if things get too out of hand.
  14. I used to have problem with shin splints while running a lot until I did outdoor track. Then, my legs just never hurt as much when running. I'm guessing the constant running I did finally got my legs in the right shape. Even still, I got into the habit of using Dr. Scholl's whenever I go out running. They help.
  15. You should also try spring rolls from Vietnamese restaurants. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds good. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there's even a Vietnamese restaurant in my area. As a sidenote, I'd say oranges are my favorite fruit, followed by bananas.
  16. We're doing something, aren't we? And Afghanistan is not going to be rebuilt over night, not even in five years time. You have to understand, the country is not just recovering from one war, it's recovering from generations of poverty, war, and repression. We could do more, yes, but it's not that easy.
  17. Yeah, and have we used nukes yet? No. Have we leveled any of the countries you mentioned? No. Are we currently in two of those countries spending time, money, and LIVES to try to rebuild them? YES. Of course, you're so laughably anti-U.S. biased you won't admit that even when facts are shoved in your face. You'll look for anything to support to justify your anti-U.S. views, even if it means making stuff up, as you did above. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry? Did you actually read my post, or seen which line I quoted and said that after? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You quoted my post regarding Hades' attitude toward Japan. The way you said it, it sounded like you might have been referring to President Bush. If you meant Hades, sorry for the misunderstanding. BUT...I stand by some of the things I said.
  18. BTW Shadowstrider, if you're reading this, I think it's best that you see this, in case you haven't already. http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=519236 I could go for 'Player or Di as a mod.
  19. 20. One less mod on the team. I'll miss Shadowstrider. Not.
  21. I love sushi. Egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce as well.
  22. And that's why I'm glad people like you aren't in the White House. And when I said "You support atrocities of a different kind", I was referring to your post about supporting the complete and utter destruction of Japan. That just shows what a low regard of human life you show. You seem to care not for the millions of innocent lives that would be lost as a result. A lot of people hate us for using nukes on Japan, do you really think your philosphy would improve things in any way?
  23. Yeah, and with your isolationist views on the world, you wouldn't give a crap about all those killed under Hitler's and Stalin's regimes. Oh, but who cares, as long as it's not you, right? It's people like you who give the U.S. a bad name. You of course introduce a quagmire by condemning the U.S. for its atrocities but support atrocities of a different kind. I'm sure if we had known what al-Quaida would have become, we would never have aided them in the first place. Bottom line is, at the time, they weren't the threat, the U.S.S.R. was. That's something that can't be changed, unfortunately. As for your comment about us not doing a single thing right from 1940, it's times like these I'm glad people like you aren't in the office. (w00t)
  24. Revan's actions hurt both the Republic and the Galaxy. And the Jedi would have definitely gone to war if they had known about the True Sith. And the Republic won, becuase it defeated the Sith fleet at the battle of the Star Forge. And after the war, it was a wounded animal, on the verge of collapsing. As for his actions, maybe he did them out of his lust for power? Or maybe because he had become corrupted from the wars? Or maybe that he felt the Republic and Jedi were weak and had to be eliminated?
  25. So long Shadowstrider, and good luck. Now get out of here.
