I understand that, and that's why I hope that if it is Reynolds, he has a director who can rein him in.

FINALLY made it to act four, and that plot twist was about as "hidden" as a freight train. Personally the new Diablo design doesn't work. If you're gonna make him a her, then you sorta kinda need to adjust the voice, because right now it feels like I'm fighting somethin that would have been from D1 or D2... but it's got baby-makin hips and mammary glands. And the game feels like it's trying to get me into a public game, but I don't really wanna do multiplayer right now.

It's not about acting... at least in the way you're making it out to be. It's about the FEEL of the movie. The original (Good) highlander flick played itself as fairly serious. I mean the Kurgan raped MacLeod's wife and then threatened to do it again for crying out loud. I just worry that Ryan Reynolds will take the role and play it like deadpool or Hannibal so that the entire thing feels more lighthearted. Basically I'm worried that it'll be a Ryan Reynolds flick dressed as Highlander, not a Highlander flick with Ryan Reynolds. http://spoonyexperiment.com/2010/12/06/highlander-the-source-review/ http://spoonyexperiment.com/2010/11/01/highlander-endgame-review-part-1/ (has parts 2 and 3) http://spoonyexperiment.com/2010/05/20/highlander-2-the-quickening-review-part-1/ http://spoonyexperiment.com/2010/05/24/highlander-2-the-sickening-review-part-2/

The thing for me is that you don't want it to be entirely serious (like ville horror). It's just that if you don't do it right, Ryan could end up accidentally turning it into a more of a farce than an action flick. I'm not saying that Ryan couldn't do it, but just from stuff like Blade 3 I think it'd take a director who could keep Ryan from being to comedic. Maybe Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth? Both have shown themselves to be able to suit the role better than usual. Or Tom Hiddleston.

From what little I understand, they'd set up Edmonton specifically to be the Customer Service dept of the game. So right now it seems like they've dropped development of new content to a more back burner position, and are working on QA/Customer Service. I know that their Customer Service has been noted to be atrocious with many bug reports or support requests being given little more than a form letter and promptly ignored (I stopped playing one of my characters because she was caught in a "can't complete quest" loop that got 0 help from the Customer Service dept.)

do hope they don't push the comedy to much with Ryan as Conner. Maybe toy with a few funny things, but not a LOT of comedy.

not movie but watched 6ish episodes of "Aquarion", an anime. Was so thinly veiled in terms of "this is a growin up anime! With mecha battles!" that there was an entire "so how does it feel to XXXX" conversation between girls, and you didn't need to change a WORD for it to be a discussion between girls about what having sex would be like. Also saw Avengers (fantastic) and Hunger Games recently. Avengers is obviously fantastic, and SHIELD in the movies is part of Homeland Security, but the US Military pulled out because of how muddied it was as to who Col. Fury reports to. Hunger games was.... a WHOLE lot of boring. The director needs to lock down his camera so that I can actually watch the movie, and needs to figure out how to properly choreograph things. It also felt VERY much like it'd changed formats given how randomly they used the commentators on the games (basically it's an exposition dump so you know what the hell is going on). If they'd either stepped things back and had it more like a football game where you watch what's on the screen but still have the commentators going every so often (even on inane bs) or, had just gotten rid of them and had the whole thing take place IN the games, it would have been much better. Honestly, it didn't amp me up at all and just felt like it was turning it's wheels to get to the interesting stuff that'd show up in the second movie.

When the patch came out, there was clear increase of players.. for like a week. Then it dropped back to the "I Am Legend" levels, at least on my server. Fast to do dailies, no need to wait your turn when you are the ONLY ONE on the planet. the quick sub hike was because they offered a week of sub to players to try to entice them back to payin

First day back at work, felt pretty good overall, had a co-worker/friend say that they actually missed me while I was gone. Made me realize she's probably the first person to actually say that to me that wasn't my parents.

Thing is, you're only going to make 8 characters... and you're going to split them between imp and rep because you don't want to run the same stories, and get all of the playing styles. Which is one of the other major issues for the game. The class split, if you picked the wrong split for your particular playstyle, you're running through the EXACT same content because you made one wrong call. And even then some of the advanced classes (let's be real, there are 8 classes in the game... no "class/advanced class" bs) are REALLY rough to try to get to the top, but once they get there things get much easier. I might not want to be a Guardian at the top and want to run as a sentinel instead, but that's not allowed, unless you go back and re -do everything you just did, only it's more painful.

Cartoon/Anime/Comic settings you would like to see a rpg set in
Calax replied to C2B's topic in Computer and Console
Those were the two main anime that made it out of Japan early on. Both are heavy style endeavours rather than trying to go for a good story (seriously... the Ghost in the Shell manga is about the size of a text book, and includes a lesbian cyber orgy along with the discussion on what it means to be human and other transhuman concepts). Mecha anime and harem anime are/were two of the biggest ones to be exported because they were aimed at little boys, and the shows aimed at girls tended to make moms uncomfortable (given that the "female" anime often has at least one semi-gay character and revolves around relationship drama... you know, stuff girls shouldn't be worrying about until they're 22 if mom has her way). There's also fighting anime, sports anime, racing anime, relationship anime, slice of life anime, supernatural anime, "OMG wtf am I watching" anime, Humor... To blatantly pigeonhole it as Gromnir did with the cliche's idiocy... is blind. Probably my favorite anime is Ruroni Kenshin. Bleach used to be second but it kinda died in the past two years, both popularly and creatively. And of course, I can't go without mentioning Mobile suit Gundam <,< if I did my avatar would reach through the screen and strangle me. -
Battletag here is Calax1292... Although I prefer Real-id myself (because of my WoW habits) you guys have to be happy with giving out yer names.

And with that we know your teacher has never been married. Seriously, I dont know the numbers but I would be shocked if a few thousand dollars in Power of Attorney fees came anywhere near the cost of a wedding. Oh she's married, but she was always referring to her husband as her "partner" and thus when she was trying to get insurance she'd have to pay an extra fee because everyone assumed that she was in a civil union/gay relationship.
-
Give it what... 6-10 hrs to become playable, and at least a day or two for everything to work properly without anyone getting stuck in loading screens.
-
I dont get it either. Well thats a bit of revisionist history there. "Marriage" as known in the West has always stood for man + woman. Only recently has it become a free-for-all. Hell, you can even "marry" dogs now. It's not the desire for a religious institution or anything close to that. It's because the government took a religious institution and gave it financial and social implications beyond that which the church could give. The benefits and systems set up to feed off being married in the US are just way to beneficial for most to NOT get married to a person if they're that deep with each other. There are examples where one partner is incapacitated and the parents become the guardians, and they hate the fact that their son is gay, so they go out of their way to ruin the relationship by denying the "awake" partner the ability to visit unconcious one, and even go so far as to bar him from a funeral. If they were married, under the law the partner would be the guardian in question, and main beneficiary. As to Civil Unions vs Marriage, one issue that's been coming up is the fact that while Civil Unions offer many benefits... they are seriously more expensive than being married. One of the few things my Sociology teacher threw out on her tirades against inequalities.

Got drunk off my ass to the point that I decided to go for two walks... One was short, the other was nearly a mile and a half... Barefoot. Now feeling like I am going to throw up and my feet hurt, and are discolored from the pavement

Am I wrong for being slightly pissed off that my roommate decided to have her boyfriends stay go from "Just for the weekend" to "Until I leave (on weds)" without even saying anything to me, and overall seems to be treating me more like a "person who exists in the area" rather than "friend"

I can't take you seriously when you don't even know the title. Uncharted: Drakes Deception, whatever. It's Uncharted 3 where they decided to throw "you're on a sinking ship" "you're lost in the desert" "Your chasing after a plane in a car to jump onboard" "you crash that plane" "you run down a caravan on horses and blow it all up" and "swarms of giant spiders scared of a torch" at your face with very little rhyme or reason for them to be connected. You realize I posted that at like 1-2 am or something and was a little bit tired.... Also, Cutter was Lucius Vorenus and Killer Number 2?

Hold on... you have a female roomate with whom you are not involved? I'm making a prediction, and you let me know if it comes true. Sooner or later, boyfriend or no you will end up sleeping with her no matter if you want to or not. It cannot help but happen. Given her temprament I doubt it. She's very clear that she doesn't sleep with those who she's living with (although this might change) Besides, she's going back to norway weds. My best guess for this whole thing is that it has something to do with the boyfriends grades (or rather, lack there of). She views herself as being worth more than a failing student (He's an engineering student... who's failed his last few semesters and is now fighting to stay at the school), and it might be that he's decided to stay back in Chicago to get Community college under his belt (and some "real life" given he's 18/19) and my roomie is debating a breakup last I knew.
-
Gonna be a long stressful night it seems. My roomie just spent two hours anywhere except her bed (where her boyfriend was sleeping) including on my floor for a bit. Now she's spent the last 50 minutes crying and talking to him about something...

I will for give them the one in 3 given the Plot device used to inject that element. The entire game would have felt tighter of chloe and cutter had been cut and the three major reoccurring characters had been "the crew". What that game needed more than anything was a unified creative vision that had it planned from beginning to end. Judging by how quickly 3 went poof on the radars, I doubt that we'll be seeing a four.

Uncharted 3, Drake's Fortune. The game as a whole feels very... scattered. Basically if you took the plot down to it's base it's about Nathan Drake and his relationship with Sully (his father figure). The thing is that there are so many plot cul-de-sac's that it gets just annoying. Levels pop up out of nowhere and are never mentioned again (a whole segment that's technically impressive in the middle of the game on a boat is only there because it's an amazing setpiece and shows off water/tidal effects). Basically it's what happens when a dev team go "Ok, we've got our set pieces... now what do we do to make em work?" They have a stealth mechanic but I found that it was very clunky and I'd get off one or two stealth kills before just getting into a firefight... and getting killed a dozen times because there'd be RPG's and guys in heavy armor (that take a full load of ammo to go down), as well as the standard punks to get ya. The actual shooting was fine, although they need to change how tossing grenades back works. And add in a track target feature somehow. Major drawback, however, is that the game seems tailor built (excepting one or two sequences) for co-op play, so you're facing down REDICULOUS odds with an ai partner who can barely shoot, and never uses more than the standard pistol. More thoughts in the mornin if there's interest.
