From the sound of it, I'd suggest that the reason the character you were annoyed at wasn't changed was simple, cost. I mean imagine how many hundreds of lines that would require re-recording (which is expensive and takes a while) if they'd chopped him in favor of a last ditch new crew member? So far I've found the inquisitor to have the most interesting tale, the warrior to be second, agent, with Jedi knight being the most boringly drawn out piece of ugh this side of Hoth. Honestly they limited themselves wayyyy to much by saying "act 1? 4 planets. Act 2? 2 planets act 3? Two ish planets!" leads to many act ones being needlessly drawn out for no real reason

Cats are more awesome, but faaaar more individually temperamental. I mean a dog you can manhandle and pet and wrestle and it'll love it, but a cat will tell you when enough is enough, and won't always want to have you petting it. Also cats are lower maintence than a dog

[chariots of fire] FOR BLACKADDER!!!! [/chariots of fire] Also one thing that me and la familia were getting really frustrated at was the fact that gymnastics would rather spend every second on the USA team rather than alternate between other teams while waiting for a score

Opening ceremony was a bit to long and self absorbed (to me at least). I will give them the Rowan Atkinson appearance as awesome. Appears to be a lot of of martial arts folks carrying flags

Just figured I'd start a thread for the Olympics. Watching qualifiers right now of soccer and can't understand how three guys passing to each other is interesting/ exciting. Can't wait to see the opening ceremonies tonight

I will admit that my first reaction to Calax flying to Long Island (locally known as "Lawn Guylun") was "hopefully he's just changing planes at JFK." Nope, des Moines > Charlotte NC (with a 5 hr delay)> la guardia> 20 minute car ride to oyster bay

Well, from my short time at boot camp, it seems if you don't make E2 by the time that you're out of boot, you're doing somethin wrong. That said, I think the Eagle has more effect on officer promotions, which is certainly something to look at more worrisomly.

Flying to Long Island today.

The question for me is how much this'll actually effect the troops. From my experiance, it appears that the troops don't have that much upper level control exerted on them (that is the head scout master doesn't have somebody who comes down on him if things aren't done just right). And the higher levels of BSA have barely anything to do with the boys in general beyond making sure that certain camps are kept active. I will say that one of the things that Hurl's trying to point out is entirely true. With the changing social norms, and the level of social interaction through social media, one of the primary reasons to even join the BSA is gone (communication between kids). It was a place where groups of similar interests could get together and have fun (assuming you picked the right troop), and now you don't need that as much because a guy can just post on twitter or facebook "Hey! Going to XXXX anyone wanna join me?" and get an entire party going in five seconds. I think BSA is sort of a "last vestige" thing that's gonna end up dead soon. I mean a few troops will keep going because the parents are good, and the scoutmaster is able to keep a handle on kids. But I've been hearing less and less about the Scouts as I've grown up, and they can't seem to keep up with the times at all. Part of it is also the religious part of the organization, and I suspect that several troops are VERY powerful in their convictions about making sure that everyone displays their religious iconography. I think people would be happier if there was a similar organization to the scouts (at least with the amount of pull they tout... free promotion if you join the MIlitary as an Eagle, hiring officers want you in as an Eagle etc) that wasn't as hidebound and conservative as the scouts are. I'm just going to throw this in there, but When I was a scout, I was terrible at it (earned like two merit badges and never got beyond first class). Mainly because I was there to have fun more than to do "srs Bsns" like a few of my friends. It started out ok, with little pressure to do any more than have fun, but then my ex-friends dad took over as senior scoutmaster and all of a sudden he decided that "I'm going to have the most eagle scouts on the planet!" and the pressure to rank up became immense, and all the fun kinda went out of it. And now that I look back on it, even though I'm more laid back than most of the leaders were, I was probably a better leader than anyone who put themselves up as leader for the crew.

Seriously. If you're not spying on other world powers then your foreign relations are going to be shot.

I'm gonna call gravity two. Used to have a shelf about 7 feet up in my old house by a window, cats would go up there and sun themselves. One day I come over because of a racket to see that one of the cats has accidently rolled one to many times and is now clinging to the carpeting up there (that's not stapled down) trying not to fall. He ended up being caught by a family member. I just laughed at a classmate in Cali who would basically go "Have I mentioned I'm irish?" every time they did something. Technically I might have been more Irish than her (my dad's, mother's mother was of the MacAnany family or something with a complete geneology leading to an Irish King of all things). Although I'm more tempted to follow the "I'm Spanish>English>American!" line given family history and my name matching to a british town (with an Ellis Island style edit) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swanwick,_Derbyshire

They have to reboot it. Or at least retool it. Otherwise they can't do Justice League properly (see the Justice League cartoon series for what happens when anything related to batman is shut off). Basic business would mean a complete reboot so that it's still Bruce Wayne in the cape and cowel rather than anyone else taking the mantle. After all, they're trying to sell people on the idea of Justice League and people wouldn't go "Batman" and think "**** Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd" or whatever (much less a guy who popped up in a movie). I'd expect a slight retool that'll use somebody like the Riddler or Penguin as the villain, but really the movie is only there for 90 minutes to quickly introduce the new bruce wayne to us. Well either that or they'll just do what they did with Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle and just change the actors with no explanation beyond "What? I'm the character damnit!"

Lets Play From The Rear End of History We Shall Ride Forth
Calax replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
You certainly produce daughters at a good clip. -
Apparently, if we preorder Medal of Honor Warfighter, we get into the Battlefield 4 beta. Stupid marketing choice given the new BF premium and expansions that are being hyped through the next year.
-
Full Metal Panic would be a good one. If you like more zaney things, try out Sengoku Basara.

So they're what gets blasted by the SK military across the DMZ?

What?! I love Ultima 9! http://blip.tv/the-spoony-experiment/ultima-9-your-knowledge-of-the-land-shall-be-great-6253749 Five minutes later http://blip.tv/the-spoony-experiment/ultima-9-who-are-the-gargoyles-6253747 http://blip.tv/the-spoony-experiment/ultima-9-the-codex-of-ultimate-wisdom-6253745 because obviously somebody who's saved the world nine times would forget the adventure where he was nearly sacrificed on an altar.

Understandable.I think he came from Naughty Dog, but I'm not sure. And when you think about THQ's repertoire Saint's Row is one of their biggest money makers. Warhammer hasn't earned them much money, Metro was a sleeper, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is to niche, Darksiders is on it's way still, Homefront had some pretty bad messes in production and wasn't as successful as they wanted, and finally Company of Heroes is only BARELY getting a new title 5 years after the first one. Basically, the Saints are their biggest pop culture franchise. And they don't have to pay royalties to anyone else to get it done (unlike their movie tie ins and the Smackdown Vs Raw series they produced). Figure in the next year they're gonna completely rebuild their commercial model, or they'll fail faster than a bag of chips.

Hm, weird. I've noticed for one-on-one the Jedi Knight (mine is Sentinel) can be quite a killer. Not so great with mobs en-masse unless you can focus and control.. but definitely got more bang then say, the Sith Assassin (which is really sucky versus mobs). I have to say, after having started off with a Sith Assassin, and then a Smuggler.. the shift to playing characters like the Bounty Hunter with heavy armor is really bloody noticable. Well the thing is that when you're questing with a Knight you WILL die... alot. or every fight will take forever because Doc barely keeps up with the damage you've got incoming. I just did my end of act 1 boss on my sorc... and that boss fight was MUCH easier than the end of act 1 fight for my guardian. The guardian got his face smashed until I basically went into a mindset that I was now raiding on my warcraft toons and had to hit EVERY BUTTON I had under my gun to do this... and even that was partly luck of the draw.

TOR for the content patch week. Mostly yutzing around on my sorcerer, remembering why I liked this game at the start, but still frustrated at my Knights inability to kill anything bigger than a wombat.

THQ is in financial troubles. This allows them to earn some more money without paying for physical copies. Which is probably why they can discount it.
