One of the bigger issues in America relating to the Free Speech issue is that they can't have totally free speech. If they did, they'd end up with demagogs who'd whip their followers into killing frenzies and beat the living bejesus out of somebody. That's the only thing that's really dis-allowed under the First amendment... speech that would lead to the imminent danger of a person or persons. Now, I won't say that as people we shouldn't self censor what we say in order to prevent social exposions, but as a society we should be mostly free to discuss and exchange ideas, even if they're complete garbage that hurt us on the whole (see:Discovery Institute) or hurt our reputation with the international community (the current dust up).

I originally had another car picked out, but the sellers screwed up and sent the title in to get it changed over, instead of just giving it to us, so we had to back out. I ended up having about 2 weeks to buy the car I currently have, and sell the old Camry. So now I'm trying to get a 91 4Runner for winters and use the acura for long trips/summer (40 mpg vs 20 is srs busness)

Boy, this new "New topic" post box is different... Anywho, I'm currently in Iowa and am looking to buy an ancient toyota 4runner that's currently in Nevada (basically I'd fly home, visit my parents, then drive the sucker back here) because my tiny little acura doesn't have the power or clearance to deal with the ice and snow. Also I need something that can carry more than two people, as all the people I know have tiny little sports cars. My question is, can anyone give me advice relating to how I'd do the registration and title? I know I'd have to re-reg it in my name, but I don't want to register it in California (higher taxes, higher insurance) before moving it out here.

Ah yes, the nebulous immersion. The reason why nudity is "meh" for me is that rarely I do I find it actually adds anything to my game experience. Prostitutes don't walk just walk around naked, so seeing them not naked seems perfectly fine. I think excessive blood/gore is also distracting, but if a game involves combat and I am hitting them with a sharp swing on an object, having blood makes more sense than not having blood. Well nudity and immersion can be liked. One example is indigo prophecy/fareinheit where the main female character has a scene that starts with her in the shower. The American release had her in a bra and panties while she was under the water. That'll toss you out of the entire thing lickety split. I don't enjoy nudity for the sake of watching a pair of jubblies hang out of a top. It's the same reason people were forced to remember that they were in a game in fallout three where the protitute in megaton takes your money, leads you to a bed, and promptly falls asleep. I'd have preferred a blank screen with the gigantic words "you had sex" rather than what we got. I mean look at the witcher 2, the nudity there made sense in the context of where you found it and wasn't just there for titillation (ok a few of the encounters between tries and Geralt were entirely gratuitous but they had an established relationship so it wasn't that odd for them to get it on)

Maybe have a quest that revolves around him and several other long time forumites? Have it start at a bar where people are telling tales and maybe a bar fight... and end up sending the player on a quest to visit the grave and do something special. If you really want to get the feeling of where he lived... it's a college town surrounded entirely by cornfields. Make it a magic school in the middle of the standard fantasy farm? And have the final boss be a werewolf that you kill with a portcullis?

It'd be nice if we had a fantasy series that was genuinely different from the tolkien "Elves are awesome and nature lovers, Dwarves are awesome and miners, Humans are awesome and the most powerful of the "Good" races." I mean I understand that having elves dwarves goblins etc means that you can play with the concept of racism.... but it just gets old, and you can yutz with the racism JUST USING ONE SPECIES. I donno... Maybe a setting like the one found in Black Company? (Oh shut up, it's my favorite book, and is significantly different from Tolkien... there is a GOD that's a TREE... and is warping the reality around it so there's flying wales, talking rocks that teleport, and all sorts of weird stuff going on.) Or something more along the lines of Clockwork tech.

This is getting annoying. I'm tired as hell but when I try to go to sleep, it's the lightest sleep possible and even the smallest noise will wake me... and I'll spend 2-4 hours just lying in bed in a strange twilight zone where it feels like my entire body is asleep and my mind is blank... but I'm not actually asleep.
