  1. you clearly said he thinks HE can veto things simply because HE wants to, which is his right as president. your words were: this is unequivocally ONLY the president's job, and the fact that you don't understand this is the point that i made. anyone past the 6th/7th grade _should_ be able to understand why your statement is senseless. i call it a failure of the US public school system as they are more concerned with teaching some freakish ideal that has nothing to do with reality. i'm sorry you must suffer, though i suppose ignorance is bliss. rest assured, my son will not suffer as you have, and he'll be able to distinguish fact from reality in the end. Look, I haven't seen the friggen article in 8 months so I forgot the title of the power and used veto as a catch all for it. What I was led to believe by the article was that he wouldn't just veto it he'd be able to completely override congress and make it so that they can't even try to get a 2/3rd majority to push the bill through. it is. except for an executive order he put in place in 2003 to have better control (by the government) on what is classified and declassified, the executive order makes note that ALL classification/declassifications must be reported to a watchdog group. First Chaney started to ignore it now bush is out and out ignoring it and trying to fend off the watchdog group and now parts of congress in order to preserve what he thinks is his privilege and his alone. I apologize if your so high on your damn horse that you can't help but look down on everything and everyone but realize that politics is not something I study or even really pay attention to other than to make sure I don't have to make an end run to Canada. However it seems that between the US attorney firings and the fact that bush has been pushing for more power for the executive branch he's been dangerously unbalancing the "balance of power" that the framers stove to achieve, meanwhile you keep nitpicking in order to find things wrong with what is essentially a half remembered news story so you can feel righteous and smart for striking down "one of the idiots of this world". remember genius, 2 things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity. Except that we're unsure about the universe.
  2. I killed NPC's in one of the capitals. anyone who was tapped into either defense channel got to keep hearing the spam of "Silvermoon is under attack".
  3. I decided to annoy the crap out of the horde... by killing things in silvermoon.
  4. For an overall it was, but some of the specifics weren't crystal clear to me, so i just wanted the assurance. you didn't miss anything, the devs just decided to change some things right before release so some things were left... confusing.
  5. they ended the series :'( at least we have a movie coming out soon to tie up the story line.
  6. The hole gets deeper and deeper. Alright Calax, exactly what civil liberties do you think have been overrun? When and where did Bush say the executive was immune to oversight with respect to intelligence. Both halves of congress has intelligence comittees and all members are "in the loop." Bush repealed the war powers act????? Do people tell you these things or are you just making them up? The executive branch cannot repeal anything. That is a legislative function and the President does not legislate. Only congress can do that and it will be a cold day in hell before that happens no matter who is in office. There are many and more reasons to dislike Bush and he has not been a good President to say the least. But the things you are posting do not make sense. http://www.sacbee.com/341/story/235644.html and I was being facetious about my last sentence
  7. uh, that's a constitutional power of the president. he can veto any bill he wants and is not required to provide a reason. in other words what HE thinks is all that matter. no kidding. the president is the commander in chief. congress cannot restrain him (much). do they even teach the constitution in schools anymore? sorry calax, i'm not trying to be mean, it's just that these are things you should have learned in the 6th or 7th grade if you went to school in the US. if you did not attend school here, apologies, but you should do well to learn now. taks no actually I was referring to the fact that in a newspaper article recently he wouldn't veto as much as simply say "only I can do that" as he kept expanding the executive branches power and played upon the hysteria and paranoia to override civil liberties. Hell, now he's trying to say that his own office is immune to oversight when it comes to classified intelligence. Also I was unaware that bush and his cronies had repealed the war powers act.
  8. That and McDonalds french fries. They age very well. ... if kept frozen their toss out date is a year from their arrival at your local store... FO3... looks... interesting. I'm not entirly sure that bethesda is going to ace it in terms of feel but they are going to ace the technical aspect of it.
  9. ... Hasn't our current president been using what he determines to be "executive powers" to broaden the power of the executive branch to the point where he shoots down certain bills because they infringe on what HE thinks is his right as leader of the executive branch. I remember her was at least one instance where there was a bill proposed to put a reign on bushes military fisticuffs, but he said it wouldn't be constitutional because he's the cmdr in chief of the military and thus has almost full and unfettered control of the military. of course it's late so I'm not exactly sure about this.
  10. wonder if he was watching her loins grind?
  11. I was actually referring to the cutscenes that everyone looks at because it shows the PC going ballistic like he never would in the game, or he shows "hey, I got teh powah!" (see the little angel boy from Xenosaga, when he first appears he freezes time and kills somthing by touching it." Instead of that actually have him do somthing that he can pull off while under the players control.
  12. In Iowa there is the Powerball lottery and the Hotball Lottery. You can either do the 20 year increment or take the cash all at once. If yo do the 20 year increment you get the whole amount, but if you decide to take the cash and run, you get roughly half the winnings right there and then. actually what sand posted is true in most states. Lotto groups are able to entice their winners because the sods are greedy and think more money later is better than half of it now. Still half of the 100 million jackpot kicks so much ass.
  13. another thing, Don't have a PC do somthing that they couldn't do OUTSIDE the cutscene.
  14. mmmm glowing boobies.
  15. no, this is not a thread for "dude I wantz a fallout game with lesbians dual wielding robots dual wielding shotguns!" this thread is for more plot device sort of thing like: If you have a case where a person is: the incarnation of a god, the child of a god, the carrier of a god, the antithesis of a god or related to a god in a way that is not normal to the setting, for crying out loud make at least some point in the story line you having the ability to just kick the crap out of any and all comers. If you have somebody who's wanted by every faction and their brother, have wanted posters (with horribly drawn caricatures if you want) posted. If you have a King, Queen, Prince, Princess, or other public figure join the party incognito, don't have them retain the same costume or physical features. Have them make themselves indistinguishable. For example, Have them cover half their face with a mask and wear something other than court costumes. (the mask will draw attention away from the face, people will see the mask rather than the person behind the mask). Or get tattoos to cover distinguishing marks. If you have the main character as a ruler, have them make the decisions rather than be told by henchman #5 what to do. If something is PAINFULLY obvious (Oh Oh that's gonna be the evil guy) let the other characters pick up on SOMETHING that raises a red flag, rather than act oblivious to the mustache twirling, insane laughter. If there is a war, don't have the war be three vets wandering around telling tales with no actual visions of battle. If the main character is supposed to be the best of the best of humanity (or a metahuman) don't have them taken down by your average goblin. Have them go nuts through swaths of goblins and be worn down if you need to have a person be captured by a tribe of said goblins (a dynasty warriors esque fight would be good) Feel free to chime in.
  16. nope... in mechanar in outland the engineers have a shrinking ray that makes you TINY if hit twice (it looks funnier with a glowing weapon because your just a black dot next to a glowing larger dot)
  17. I saw it yesterday too (jinx?) and I was quite surprised that it wasn't as bad as the first. I think a lot has to be down to the fact that there were ZERO lines of dialogue with Alba pretending to be a scientist, which meant she didn't have to stretch to anything outside her range of pouting and working the runway. (Who did her make-up? She looked like a shaved orang-utan, her fake-tan was so thick and her skin so orange.) yup... again a new writer and you could have made the movie a DAMN good movie. But instead they went for 15 seconds of action and alot of pouting so we got what we got.
  18. Itty bitty kithy...
  19. Crackdown... Grand theft auto better looking and with a supersoldier as the protagonist. According to the game i can lift ten tons and chuck it about 250 yds. I can leap 25 yds strait up, and run at close to 40 mph. I love this game.
  20. Saw Fantastic Four today... thought that it was in desperate need of a new writer (it had two distinct plotlines that if written right, could have made another movie). I won't spoil it but lets just say that Surfer isn't the ultimate power that they make him out to be in the previews.
  21. DS is still heavily outselling the PSP. Mainly because people view the PSP as more a pocket Playstation rather than a handheld in it's own right. Also the DS's touchscreen brings alot more people to the table.
  22. Inu-Yahsa was lighthearted then became dark. I guess it's mostly manga that has this happen.
  23. the Twinkies ok?
  24. has anyone else noticed that anime and manga seems to always start out with humor everywhere then at somepoint, takes a left at Albuquerque and becomes a really dark and intense and murderous series?
