won't be sleeping tonight due to being to apprehensive about my lack of finances.

I just laugh because one of the very same organizations that that article is using to give itself authority (the WHO) is saying everything is safe.

Did they at least get rid of the vehicles made out of spit, duct tape and prayer?

You won't say that when heavily armed Zen Buddhist guerillas starts the next insurgency somewhere... Zen Buddhists vs military Junta, vs commies.

GD, that's not just the Islamic nations that are like that. India, and everything east of there have a significantly different set of values and a wildly different culture, In a similar way to the Muslim nations. Japan isn't that different anymore after forced modernization and political change post-Meji restoration and post-ww2, and china followed a different track. But most of those eastern asia cultures are still as radically different than ours as the Muslim culture, they just don't have the extremely powerful church to connect their ideologies.

Actually I think most people take installments so that this doesn't hit them that hard.

Honestly? I'd probably end up putting it somewhere it can earn me more money. And maybe toss some to a basically completed game project that lost it's publisher

This probably has to do with the perception of the nation. Afganistan didn't have much said about it's current politics before the US went in, plus the citizens were caught up in the patriotic "kill 'em all" fervor because AlQ was in there. Iraq didn't have the open opposition or the leader who said "My people love me and would never want to hurt me" while his troops were firing weapons on civilians. I'm sorry Calax, I don't remember where you stood on the Iraq invasion. But for the sake of agrument let's say you opposed it. If Hussein was bombing and gassing his own peoole would that have changed your mind? On that note, if McCain were president and he was doing exactly what Obama was right now is there any doubt in your mind the same people who are lauding Obama would be protesting against and castigating McCain? They would not give a dried rat turd how many people Gadahfi killed or how he did it. Kudos to Congressman Dennis Kucinich who it an absolute nut job in my humble opinion but at the very least he is consistent in opposing military action in Libya was he was anywhere else in the last 30 years. That in itself is a very rare quality in the modern politician. I wasn't against it so much as I was against the reasoning behind it. I am obviously anti-bush, and felt that they were making up the WMD and Al Queda connections that they were scaring us with in order to go in. Afganistan I could understand and was willing to go along with (wish we hadn't installed a corrupt government), but right now Libya? EEEEeeehhhhhh.... I'd prefer that we keep troops off the ground, if only due to cost reasons. Is that callous? Yes, but then again, so is letting the numerous other regimes that are currently in power that are far more oppressive stay in power.

Although it could have been much worse if Reactor four hadn't been offline at the time and basically empty of fuel rods.

WoW and Shogun 2. My consoles are quiet until tuesday when Dynasty Warriors arrives [insert evil laugh here]

It's far less linear than AC2. Also has an updated combat system that I enjoy better, but other than that it just feels.... small.
-
Worked a bit more on my Shogun game. I'm basically holding the line near kyoto (beating off about 3-4 full stacks from the comps per turn in sieges, with the comps being made up of mostly friggin archers) and invading from the west, or doing my best to as I recently lost that army to a double siege by the Chokosabe.

That's where the 8 day half life on the Iodine comes in. Also, a lot of the radiation was unfortunately absorbed into the local crops, so nothing that was grown in that area is edible.
-
Well, the tap water was unsafe for CHILDREN in terms of radiation, however if somebody says "unsafe for this portion of the population" everyon'es just gonna go for the bottled stuff anyway. And it's not just Tokyo that said it was now safe, but also the World Health Organization.
-
And yet according to my current geology teachers ex-boss (who is an exec in the Nuke industry) they've stopped the leakage. And the Iodine only has an 8 day half life. Give it a month and the Iodine will be low enough that it's once again at the level of background radiation. Heck, at this point the government of Japan and the WHO have concurred that the radiation levels are at the point where it's safe to drink the tap water. Also, for the record, Reactor four was almost completely empty of fuel rods.

Shogun 2 still, captured Kyoto and became shogun. And the entirety of Japan promptly turned on me (literally, EVERY SINGLE CLAN that was remaining attacked), and right now i'm in the process of going around taking provinces and making vassal states. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you my first defense of Kyoto. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59468094...B07B4FFB6803E8/ That's about halfway through the battle, MOST of those corpses you see are my enemies. Archers have become DEADLY in this installment of the franchise and that's what did most of my killing that round. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59468094...7E7119F35641C0/ And that's how it ultimately turned out. I managed to hang on by tooth and nail because of my archers and towers on my castle. For the record, that's MOSTLY an army made up of Ashigaru (militia) while the enemy was Samruai level (professionals). In RTW terms it was Town Watch vs Legionary cohorts and the Watch won, by a large margin. Right now I'm on Kyushu (the southernmost/western most island in the chain) and was about to launch an army into enemy territory from there by crossing a land bridge, the army got attacked across the gap and I got the best defensive map in the inventory. Basically the biggest feature on the map for the defender is a small plateau that you can park yourself on that has a tight bottleneck that anyone who wants to get you has to go through. So I tossed myself up on that and this happened: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59468094...BF5992FB4A735B/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59468094...E3E5CC9358E888/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59468094...9BF77D63D76637/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59468094...6619C08D30BFA8/ And this was the final count of that particular battles survivors. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59468094...14BE6E54CA313F/

Joe, why in my mind's eye do I have the opening sequence of Die Hard Six: Die Hardest But on a Train coagulating in my imagination right now? Watch out for ex-Spetznatz mercenary commando drug-dealing nuke stealing bad-asses hiding in the bushes wearing NVGs. OK? Isn't that Under Siege 2?

I haven't seen glee but it seems like it is just a musical version of the standard heavily stereotyped highschool. That said, I do think that Grohl and the others who refused do have a right to fire back at the guy. Being accused of not caring about kids/the future because you decided not to appear on a show isn't exactly cool.

Multiplayer = awful was spot on. I liked the "game world" one in particular.

The things you learn from facebook... Apparently my cousin was deployed (navy) to Japan LITERALLY the week before the earthquake hit. Right now they're on voluntary evacuation, nobody has really left, but are set to redeploy back to the states or just to sea (I think).

Did a bit more on my Chokosabe game, it's late enough that I won't be able to move fast enough to take the provinces I need, but here's a basic overview of my empire. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Calaxprimal/s...680317441338787 As you can see, I'm in a bit of a bind, I have less than 5 years to take another 10-15 provinces. For the record, the two Islands I'm invested in are ENTIRELY mine (the other colors on the place are my vassal states).
