  1. Not sure how far this has flown under the radar, but I saw it initially on the Colbert Report. http://www.suntimes.com/news/jackson/50132...ton-harbor.html (uh, that's written by Jesse Jackson... so it's a TINY bit biased) http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011...n-benton-harbor (that's from Rachel Maddow's show) Apparently in the Michigan town of Benton Harbor the State leadership has gone in and basically replaced the town's democratically elected government with an "E F M" or Emergency Financial Manager, because the town is the lowest income and most financially troubled town in the state. Literally the guy got appointed, and then the next day used his powers to strip the mayor and city commission of their ability to do anything, because they might oppose his "drastic measures" to save the place (including merging the Police and Fire departments). According to Mr. Jackson, one of the first things that happened was that a state park that Whirlpool was trying to get privatized so it could put a development there (it's beachfront onto the great lakes) had been blocked by the city. As soon as the new guy rolled in, Whirlpool got what it wanted in the name of "mo money!" Anyway, thoughts?
  2. Uh dude... I think I know a guy who's got that number just on ONE of his characters, and at least half that on three others.
  3. whoa whoa whoa whoa wait a second that is 184x24? 24 hours a day? thats 4416 hours. thats more time on 1 game than i have spent on EVERY game I've played for the past FOUR years. (20 hours a week, 50 weeks a year) something is off with that number right? Nope, most wow players will have something akin to that I've got above that number I believe, my friends have WAYYY above that number.
  4. If you have active subscribtion, type /played into chat. You have to go thru all your characters (or at least that how it used to be) and then manually add up total time. Thank you! Now I cant wait to get home and check. between my two main characters I think I have about a straight year of game time on my WoW account, I dropped it last month so I can't check.
  5. I'm currently at 159
  6. Honestly, I think Martin kinda sucks at fighty fighty writing
  7. Until now when it all gets outed
  8. That sort of... emasculates Pakistan. Although the fact that the Bush leadership basically said "One way or another those things are going to die" seems like it fits the bill for the attitudes at the time.
  9. Whoops, missed an "un" in there.
  10. *shrugs* For Katerina at least I'm gonna reconcile the fact that she has so little armor with her being an Archon and she doesn't actually WEAR clothes/armor so much as gives the appearance of it while her innate self armors her and simply puts clothes on her to make her "presentable". Yay for unsupported fan theories!
  11. At the end of "Siege" storyline in the comics, Thor moves Asgard to somewhere in the middle of Oklahoma, where it gets destroyed completely as it gets assailed and defended by pretty much all superheroes and supervillains on Earth. It was moved there just after the Civil War. Thor basically reconstituted it there and was finding the rest of the gods (who were stuck as humans) and centralizing them. Tony Stark tried to get Thor to register and register his family but thor basically kicked him all over the street and then threatened him with insane storms (in New Orleans no less) if he didn't back off.
  12. They just could have done a LOT more with the concept of being inside the computers of today. Also it needed some faster pacing.
  13. I was referring more to the fact that the F4 movies were universally panned and at least the second one was a bomb.
  14. You really think they'll reference his Fantastic Four stuff in Avengers?
  15. You didn't see the "stinger" didja? Probably the most memorable thing about this movie (to me) is the aesthetic of the Aesir and Asgard. I don't know why but the costums just seem wayyy to awesome, I think it's the capes. I do hope that they end up abandoning the earth locales... Asgard was just amazing, and the visuals there... *drool*
  16. This is a Marvel Comics property, not just "Hey! Lets do a movie about that guy wit da hammah!"
  17. Saw Thor. Gotta say, the set and costumes for the Gods were AWESOME! Although casting a black guy as the "whitest of the gods" (Not kidding) seems a little... counter intuitive.
  18. Deus Ex is gonna be Steamtastic.
  19. http://kotaku.com/ubisoft/5798941 It's official, Ezio Auditore de Firenze is returning in a third AC game. According to the press release you get to play as all three of the characters you did previously.
  20. Nah, it was the smart move. Hardcore terrorists are going to hate us regardless, but there's a pretty broad swath of opinion in the muslim world that may dispise bin Laden's violent tactics but that has some sympathy with his cause. If the U.S. hadn't observed proper islamic burial traditions, it just throws more gasoline on the "America wants to destroy Islam" theories. Agreed. It costs us nothing to act civilized even if we we not treated that way. Even if it gains us nothing it's better to take the high road. I'm just glad Obama did not lose his nerve on this. He wavered for sixteen hours after he got confirmation Bin Laden was there. If it ever got out that he had the chance and passed on it for fear of failure he would be done. He's probably done anyway but still. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13...l#ixzz1LJkz0f2d This is what I was slowly getting at.
  21. Uh... Hrm... Uhhh Did everyone just forget masseffectsaves.com ?
  22. Yeah, and why is that? Because many Americans respect and love the people you mentioned. Are you now saying that many Muslims respected and loved Osama Bin Laden? Because you are now insulting Muslims. Not that many did, just that somebody did.
  23. The Great Stallion? Is that a relative to the Italian Stallion?
  24. The better question is why the hell would I care if some ignorant Muslim celebrated the death of one of those people? My reaction also wouldn't be to go burn down the nearest Mosque. I don't know why you'd care, but I'm willing to bet some of the people who were cheering in the streets on sunday night would be flipping out at the images they'd be shown if one of the people I mentioned was assassinated.
  25. You can't even make an exception for Bin Laden. Countless people across the globe, from the U.S. to Africa to the U.K. to Bangladesh have been killed by his orders. Countless countless survivors are missing limbs and in wheel chairs and countless more have lost loved ones or have been emotionally scared. Lets not forget the perversion of a religion, racial intolerance, sexism, murder of homosexuals & general intolerance of anything they don't believe in. Nazis only manage to surpass their general despicability thanks to their efficiency with the gas chamber, which I'm sure Al-Qaeda would surpass if they had the means. If I'm somehow insulting someone by being happy/kicking back a brewsky over his demise they can go **** themselves along with Al-Qaeda. And if I were to ask several people from a variety of Islamic countries they'd turn around and fire that same argument back about GeeDubuya, Obama, or a variety of other members of the DoD (Robert Gates for example).
