  1. Yes, I was agreeing with you, you *censored* eedjit. Except I could have made that clearer.
  2. Has anyone mentioned the notion of being turned into gunpowder yet?
  3. Never part with the books, even though they are heavy. I can't really recommend a moving technique other than bribing some mates into driving you places in a van. However if I were crossing the US I'd consider just freighting the lot to myself. Good luck, anyhow. Keep us posted on your travels. And... I dunno. Don't take candy from strangers.
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/monday/rams/1800.ram This link goes to the second part of a fifteen part dramatisation of G.K. Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday. It is one of Chesterton's better books, and teh production is pretty good (BBC). The book concerns a British secret policeman infiltrating a society of secret anarchists. It is weird and a little wonderful. You Deus Ex fans may recognise snatches from teh book scattered in the first game. If you enjoy it, look on http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain for more on last tuesday etc.
  5. Happy belated birthday. Sagittarius November 22 - December 21 Your discovery of Ponce de Leon's famed Fountain Of Youth will be marred by the unfortunate, simultaneous discovery of a half-dozen infants drowned in its waters.
  6. Similar to another surprise wounding/attempted murder I witnessed. The victim looks fine for a few seconds, then *poof* they realise how bad they are and collapse. This illustrates why the cops have to shoot for the head in hostage situations. You can't be sure the target will stop moving with anything less. Strange shooter, though, strolling off like that.
  7. Bye! *waves* Don't forget to kill until no Harkonnen breathes Arrakeen air!...
  8. This looks like it has lived its useful life. Short, beautiful, and poignant, like a midget in the snow.
  9. If we were in a game I'd suggest cajoling some huge barbarian into your character party, on promises of gold. Give him all your heaviest things. Keep the paperwork for yourself. Failing that, my recommendation is to ditch almost everything. Every time I've moved I've thrown or given away 50% of my stuff. And have never regretted a stick of it. Personal tip: if you ever want to dispose of anything huge and junkworthy simply place it out front of your house with a sign taped to it, saying "Only fifty bucks". It will be stolen in hours.
  10. People do not begin to take personal data security seriously enough in any way shape or form. Adults included. Myspace is a neat idea, but I'm with Meta. Why have your real photo on anyway? In my case it's merely a courtesy to the reader who has just eaten!
  11. Always ask at your local store for gaming groups.
  12. But I can't understand why you get tired of this color mix? Looking at other forums, I can say this scheme is the most pleasant to my eyes. BTW, there is a lite black on white option. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can you please tell me where this option is? White on black is bad for your eyes, period. I don't know why. It is a fan colour for people who think they are... d'oh!
  13. Yup. A fantastic no-argument instance.
  14. Ii have a no fail conversion pulling line, but I am afraid proliferation of the technology will invalidate the line. Sorry gentlemen. BTW, you do realise there are women on the site. Surely you should be asking them?
  15. I'd offer an option to change the colour mix. My eyes really start to hurt after a while of reading this white on black. I've seen the option elsewhere.
  16. I don't think anyone knows how they'll react before an event like that, or even from one event to the next. But I do think the reaction says a lot.
  17. Well, you North Europeans have the edge in Engineering. So cry me a river.
  18. In teh melee era, where a lot of weapons were slashing and bashing, and even for some of the pokey ones, bleeding is your main worry, because once it starts in a big way it will carry on in a big way unless you get it dressed sharpish. For loss of blood I'd lose em STR and INT, not CON.
  19. In my experience, people who are of opposite law/chaos alignments get along far worse than peopel of opposite law/evil alignment. If you know what I mean. I know they certainly would have more trouble adventuring together. "Why are there toenail clippings in the rationpacks?" "Somebody has eaten all the chocolate chips out of these bags of trailsnacks." "You didn't set up the tents while I was getting the water?" ...Plaintive cries of a lawful character among chaotics.
  20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/4439556.stm Just to show (as if proof were needed) that heroes come in all colours.
  21. AHAHAHAHAHA. *ahem*
  22. The tabletop nature of the game really militates against sensible playing of a firearms/radios game, where everyone should be concealed a lot of the time. i do like WHFB, but find the backstory less interesting.
  23. The thing is that my firm did research on this topic and discovered that when people had a good experience they told three people. But when they had a bad experience they told ten people. Draw your own conclusions. No, seriously. I'm tired.
  24. I never seem to find the time to dust off my marine army. I do enjoy a good bit of 40k. I can still remember reading Thrud the Barbarian in White Dwarf. Incidentally, if anyone can remember the battle hymn of the Fire Wasps order of teh Adeptus Titanicus, you set my mind at rest. I used to know it, but can't find it anywhere now.
  25. You've obviously never spent the afternoon with ME.
