  1. aw no pictures? you're no fun basically just picture someone with hooks in their back with ropes lifting them off the ground i can go into more detail if you like Good lord! Well, each to their own, I suppose.
  2. I meant it could be a good continuation of the topic. An evolution if you will.
  3. Maj. Carter is my kind of woman.
  4. It's quite clear that a resignation would have been carried out for two possible reasons: 1. To smoke out any domestic threats to the party, while he is still physically around. 2. To provide credibility to a successor.
  5. Top ten most badass presidential contenders? i.e. people who ran for Prez and failed?
  6. No pictures, but what is a flesh suspension? Is that like when you're gnawing on a whole leg of lamb while you type?
  7. A litre of guava juice.
  8. The fact that he was REALLY REALLY sick? As in well hes always been a sick mutha! I was thinking more along the lines of his kidneys failing.
  9. Picture, if you will, me staring at this bald statement like a dog being shown how to make nylon.
  10. The fact that he was REALLY REALLY sick?
  11. Darth Vader. The James Earl Jones one, not the strange comedic farce in the first three films. There your answers lie.
  12. You can't put Eisenhower below Truman!
  13. An independent Kosovo was always going to be a problem. Hard for NATO to defend, easy for Serbia to take at least with Russian backing). But when Kosovars appealed to the West for aid it would have looked very bad to deny it to them. There's a lot of Eastern European countries looking nervously at a resurgent Russia and wondering if we will back them up.
  14. One has a school shooting per week, one has not. Pardon me for claiming one is wiser and more right. If it's not the easy availability of guns, then what is it? What is so fundamentally different about the American mindset that guns are a non-factor in the equation? So far in this thread you've all been pinning the blame on mentally disturbed people. Since you have many more shootings, something IS different, that much is clear. Logically (according to YOUR logic) since it's not the amount of guns that causes it, it must be the amount of mentally ill people. Are you saying Americans are more mentally ill than other people in the world? Is it your health care system that's failing? Are Americans just more perceptible to mental illnesses? I'm not sure that was GD's argument. I think I was the one saying it was mentally ill people who go on homicidal rampages and kill scores of people they don't know. As for the USA having more, I don't know the statistics. But I would expect that free mental healthcare is even worse than that in the UK. I'll levae it there before I start sounding like a filthy socialist.
  15. I'm salivating like a bloodhound! I'm so going to capture you in a net and make you a chef. Which like all my stomach's plans works on many levels. You'd also be a dangerous chef, like Steven Seagal.
  16. SG1 was mainly tolerable if you didn't take it too seriously. The actors were engaging, and the stories no worse in concept than any other weekly sci fi explorer show. Some were better, like the one where they discover space nazis, and have to decide whether to collaborate with them. But the biggest problem I had was not so much realism as personal annoyance. Hee the human race was on the verge of annihilation and enslavement by the Gouauould (no I'm not looking up the spelling), and the team let petty manners get in the way. They'd cheer4fuly refuse to steal some superweapon even though it could guarantee Earth's survival. W? T? F? I also think they should have had a British team attached to the command. Plenty of scope for inter-cultural comedy.
  17. Snob. Last achohol related drink I had was a hot shot, actually three of them. Before that I had drank bottle of mint flavoured vodka and four long drinks. For certain reasons I wanted to get totally wasted. Meh. 'certain' reasons? Do divulge, sir. I think you could call it "general unhappiness of my current situation". Nothing serious, but all self inflicted. I actually ended up drinking two days straight and spend almost 200
  18. Im not following you Wals. IMO, mental conditions should be taken into consideration when doing a background check on people to determine their eligibility to buy a gun. Are you saying it shouldnt? I apologise for being unclear. I am rather tired today.* I mean that if we took proper care of people who needed psychiatric care then many of these incidents wouldn't happen. Indeed I would allege that doing so woud prevent more incidents than full gun banning. Not to mention the human benefit of properly caring for loons. *Not that I'm clear otherwise.

  20. Slow day? I believe I was drunk. Yes. Yes, now I think on it, I'm fairly certain I was drunk. For starters my spelling is too correct.
  21. That's hardly fair. I mean if only mentalists are doing these shootings, why punish everyone who wants a gun? especially when the mentalists need help and control anyway.
  22. I finished my week's stint at the paper on a high note. I managd to generate three novel stories, and helped a bunch of people, which is always fun. I am going to have tow of my stories published next week, one of which will be in depth (largely down to my being able to ladle in a lot of military history.
  23. Riggwelter is damn fine beer. I've acquired two casks of Bath ale for another stag do I'm attending. For some reason I have a large foamy mug in hand right now.
  24. No offence, buddy, but I#ve seen three and they were all so bad I've given up on the series. Bloody Fox network, trying to do things on the even cheaper.
