The world's 193rd country just emerged
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/4F2...A835CB96817.htm Medvedev backs Sebia with what I think is a pretty strongly worded statement. However, no explicit moves were set out.

I suspected this was a topic on random musings, but it appears Walsingham is in actuality voraciously interested in the topic at hand. It appears I would be churlish to refuse you the option of sitting in the corner randomly musing.

I'm quite fond of budvar, but if I am going to go in that direction at all I'll take singha beer, or castle lager. Both tasty but good in the heat.

What you did today
Thanks, man. It would be very galling for thsi to fall through at this stage for no better reason than that the vendor is a fool.

What you did today
My bleeding house negotiations fel through today. The vendor suddenly decided that an offer "subject to survey" actually doesn't mean that it is subject to a survey. Either that or for some reason they assuemd that a survey would result in my raising my offer. Honestly, I've never dealt with anyone in obvious command of considerable funds who was so clearly unsuitable to be in charge of them. ...OK that's not true. But all the others were members of the aristocracy and they don't count. They're supposed to be mad. Incandescent with fury. I had to go out for ANOTHER run just to burn off energy. On the plus side I noticed I look and feel about eight years younger. Fury is obviously good for me. UPDATE: I just finished a phone conversation with the estate agents. I didn't actually accuse the young man of being an idiot, but I did speculate on the mental strength of his client. I used the Harvard technique to give him a drubbing: 1. Pointed out the logical foundation for my position, unrelated to expense. 2. Enquired after the logical foundation of his client's position (they had none, they simply wished they were getting more money in spite of the collapsing house market). 3. Illustrated the massive discrepancy in the strength of our two fallback positions. I lose a few hundred pounds if this falls through. His client will lose thousands in wasted interest and mortgage payments, and has only a slim hope of getting more money. 4. Stated it was absurd that the negotiations should fall apart because the vendor was simply being childish. 5. Stated that the negotiations were not going to fall apart, and that builders were going in, I was getting my quote, and the price would come down. Hopefully we shall see some action now. But by god it's fuyn to lose your temper. Best done in moderation, I think, but still awesome.

I'd forgotten about that. Really, as you know I'm hardly a fan of vigilante justice (Or as I like to call it The Judge Hades Fiery Destruction Half Hour), but it seems to me that in the absence of any law enforcement online people HAVE to prosecute the fight against net criminals. In any event, I don't see even now what possible objection the spamsters would have. Indeed, they'd have to rbing a case, identifiying themselves as spamsters.

I suspect the problem could be entrapment? But I'm not sure. I simply don't know enough about this kind of fraud. BUt it seems to me that having mroe ways to trace criminals can only be a good thing.

I'd agree, but this stuff is actually pretty decent. Sort of gentle and aromatic My favourite, which I can't get locally is called Firestoker, by Marstons. Smooth light IPA (lagerboy friendly) with the faintest hint of cherry wood/mahogany smell.

Wouldn't that make them even more useful to law enforcement? Because instead of tracing some random zombie PC you get pinged by the actual fraudster? i supose the biggest issue there would be that the same numbers would turn up repeateedly, allowing scammers to spot the lures.

Why not use 'poison' credit card and personal data, fed back via criminal's spam email, to catch them?

I followed each point, but am not sure where I am now supposed to be. Surely all those issues have been around for a while?

Kitchen - high priority, good strong worksurfaces especially. Nothing quite like malleting a chicken flat and finding you've cracked the boards. busy street - is it busy 24/7? I've certainly known 'quiet' streets which are horrendous at precisely the hours when one wants to sit still and relax. bathroom - you'll get quickly used to it small bedrooms - how much room does one actually need for sleeping? danger spot - you are neglecting two points. Firstly, this will give you an excuse for wearing a viking helmet around the house. Secondly, if you are being pursued you can chase through here and duck, while your pursuer comedically is knocked unconscious.

Some help with a virus
Certainly sounds serious. But if antivirus isn't detecting it, might it not be some kind of temp file? I'm simply guessing. A temp file that is being added to but not erased.

The Decline and Fall of Europe
IMO this is turning into another religion vs science debate. So far as I can see all this fuss about Christianity is simply because some of you chaps don't know anything about the religions that came before. Bone up on what people did in the name of Ahura Mazda and come back. You'll find a tonne of forced conversions, witch-hurling, and penguin wrestling back then. N&S if I understand your point correctly, we are actually far closer than at first appeared, in a sort of potato/pohtahto way. You mentioned that genetically we are homogenous in Europe. well, I'll but that for a dollar, and also buy that genetically we are homogenous worldwide. As I think you know. However, as Muso says, it's hard to claim we're homogenous culturally in the UK. Certainly this puts strain on things. BUt it's also a boon in many ways. I'd be bored witless, not to mention educated to a lower standard were it not for so much intermixing.
