You're 6'2"? Then bloody well enjoy that, you miserable bastard. I weight nearly as much as you and I'm a shortass. I was reminded just the other day that me dancing is like a rhino set on fire.

you actually got my middle name right! Ah, but you see, with your basic honesty you had to be a Henry, but girls would never go crazy for a Henry, hence your middle name. *puff puff*

I'd imagine that proviso is intended to make ceertain the ISPs don't avoid tracking the problem for fear of losing business. But I agree it sounds unprecedented.

Had some superb sushi in Manchester the other day, there's a place in Chinatown that cooks everything in front of you, except the sushi. I can't remember the name, but although it was pricey I'd rate it for any celebration.

When I worked in customer service we had a guy who used to make periodic requests to order things without a credit card. These were routinely refused under standard terms, but we became curious. We enquired as to why he had none, and he replied that the bank wouldn't give him one. This was where I was called in, since I had worked previously in a bank. very swiftly it was established that they couldn't give him one because he had no credit history because he only had one name, and no proof of identity. Long story short we established that this poor bloke had been raised by hippies who insisted he should never have a square thing like an identity and raised him completely off the grid. He was very peculiar but he seemed genuinely a victim of his upbringing rather than a proponent. So we helped talk him through the process of getting a birth certificate, passport, bank account, and finally his first purchase. One more reason I hate hippies. Its the sheer hypocrisy of forcing their views on a child.

Surely watching Jesus would be of less practical use than watching Mohammed? Since he was the later prophet?

Crazy. I am in awed admiration of your efforts, sir.

Thanks for all the input. Hopefully this is interesting for a few people besides me. 1. I can totally understand the urge to take the game seriously and practice. If people do it for amateur football or bridge, why not gaming? 2. However, I don't think massive practice is necessary to have a good time in a military sim that is based on some realism. We all know roughly what works. We just need some common spirit to engage in it. 3. I had huge fun yesterday evening fighting alongside an Aussie, and I thought it was interesting to see why. - Mutual lexicon. It makes a big difference in VOIP if you can say "Have eyes on leg at charlie 7, repeat charlie 7" and not be accused of being a space mutant. - Mutual support. If I need to get to a treeline under fire, having a tank which agrees to move at walking pace to give you cover is awesome. Likewise, if the tank comes under fire, having an engineer who is wiling to get out a satchel charge and bounce aggressively towards the enemy vehicle is an excellent distraction. - Shared awareness. If you see a T34 hull down in ambush, bloody sing it out. Ditto an MG nest. All these things should be obvious, and require very little training.

My mother is fighting cancer and she has days where she wants it to be over, so I wouldn't blame your friend. You're right IMO that its a human and sensible reaction to be relieved.
-
It's your damn name. I suggest you decide how it should be pronounced.

OK. Item one: morality. Is morality going to be simple like DD or complex, like White Wolf?

Here's a thought: why not have the modern 'castles' of the elite as power stations. If you assume that there's a strong pro-Wyrm influence then I can't think of anywhere more secure or cool than a nuclear power plant. Even the coal fired ones are pretty tough, and of course they have human rapid reaction forces protecting them. EDIT: also, you've seen those huge steel sealed containers going into power stations. Who's to say what is in them? Dignitaries? Blood? Slaves? Angels to power the generators?

The cupboard thing reminds me of a true story I heard from a friend who was working in Egypt as a teacher. They were living in Alexandria, ina tower block, and his friend dragged the ancient acst iron gas stove to the balcony to give it a good clean. It weighed about 150 lbs. While cleaning it, he lost control, and the thing toppled through the railing, fell several floors, and narrowly missed an old man. Impressive, enough, but it later transpired that the old man in question was radical cleric, and if it had hit him there could have been civil war at what was 'obviously' and MI6 hit.

I agree. It's not like we can afford to do everything we want. We have to prioritise. I am against attacking the guard for two reasons, although they may not have been apparent to the game designers 1. The South African experience was that justice must take second place to reconciliation 2. The Iraqi experience was that purges drove the defeated elements to form an insurgency EDIT: Perhaps we could encourage the former members to leave somehow?

You mean the writer was mysteriously murdered , police suspecting a link to the local gentleman's club?

It count.. as a waste of my goddamn time!

I was watching Dr Who yesterday and the people in their cars started singing 'Abide with me' and with no warning at all I burst into tears. Most bizarre.

I've got a mic set up now. But no bastard can hear me, apparently, other than very faintly. Which is weird because it works fine on Skype etc. Is teamspeak different? I've set up a thread about clanning me up.

I've been considering joining a clan in Red Orchestra, because poor team play annoys the living feth out of me, and apparently its what you do to get team players on side. Thoughts?
-
That's true, although: 1. Being a target can toughen you up. My family were very very poor and we got stick for it. 2. Having a moderately weird name is great for people thinking you are unusual later in life. We used to fake our names to see how people reacted differently. I recommend it.

I'd like to watch the French Canadian film Sonatine (1984). That film taught me how to want to live. According to your preamble, I'd need it.

Played Red Orchestra far too much today. But did my exercises, and breathing exercises, and did some correspondence. I should have done more but could have done worse. I'm not a regular player of online shooters like Red Orchestra, and some things perplexed me: - typing "tank to right" lacks a certain immediacy compared with speaking - The total absence of teamwork renders the whole thing into a confused mess - Only defensive missions with chokepoints evidence any teamwork - If you DO happen to get a good team player hang on to the little bastard. Two if us got into a tiger E and did great havoc once we got used to each other's style. I think you ought to apologise to that girl. Firstly because I think it's correct that she is under pressure and you pushed her over. Secondly because angry women are great kissers.
