Final Fantasy II was the first to use the system, so Wasteland wins that distinction. They may have been the first game to use such a system. Final Fantasy II - 12/17/88

I just got an early christmas present, a $65 16x dual-layer DVD-burner. Yep. It's horribly expensive to wake up and smell the 21st century. In case people missed it, Sony has started to sell new HD-DVD burners and players.

Influence system, can it be modified for the PC?
EnderAndrew replied to kumquatq3's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The system isn't perfect, but I still think it's preferable over not affecting the NPCs at all. -
Who Do You Think Should Make KOTOR III?
EnderAndrew replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
After playing some KOTOR:2, it's not even close. Obsidian all day long. -
Yeah, did loot somehow become random? She and I got very different loot on Peragus. And we're both pretty confident we both blanketed the whole area. There are several things I got that she didn't, and vice versa. I also noticed a character appearance in game that didn't happen in hers because she said Revan was evil. I can't wait to see all the differences.

I flat out love the new music I've heard so far. I really love that when I get a LS point I hear a bit of the Luke-Force theme. The music is pretty sweeping, and much more in the foreground than in KOTOR:1. Obsidian isn't responsible for the score, but I'm digging it none the less.

I can't wait.

I might need a refresher on the specifics. If you can point to the thread, or PM me, that would be cool.

Look. The game frustrated the hell out of me when I first put it in. Half the time it wouldn't read the disc, and I have a pretty clean XBox because I constantly maintain it. Then it locked up repeatedly and ate my save games. But, I turned off auto-save, and alternate between multiple saves. I've still never had a console game lock up this much before, and despite that I'm really enjoying the game. The dialogue, even in the simple Peragus logs, is quite good. The NPCs all feel like real people with seperate personalities. Many of the small gameplay changes really add to the game. I'm also seeing a few MCA touches here and there. You wake up next to a morgue to start the game, and have a female mentor? Torment references perhaps? We just needed a floating ball droid named Monte. I can't say much more without risking spoilers, even light ones, but my girlfriend and I fight over who gets to play the game.

If they don't want exposition, they shouldn't play RPGs. I'm only 5 hours in, but I think the dialogue is VASTLY improved from KOTOR:1.

Should a KOTOR 2 : TSL The devolopers cut
EnderAndrew replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If they release a new version, it should be to add a new world/content and fix bugs. Changing the ending is weak. Stand by the game you design. -
Do you want KOTOR 3 to become one of the first FPS
EnderAndrew replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Nope. Most of the first RPGs on the PC were first person. Take the old Ultima games (first person in dungeons), Alkabeth, Might and Magic, Wizardry, etc. -

My game mostly locks up during game saves and loads. -
I have an old XBox with a Thompson DVD drive. But my XBox gets opened and cleaned monthly. I have Artic Silver thermal compound on the CPU and GPU. The crappy 7v case fan has been replaced with a 12v Vantec Stealth. The HDD has been replaced with a brand new Western Digital 120 gig. I cleaned all the optics in my DVD drive, and then pot-tweaked it. I still have trouble reading the disc from time to time, and only with this game. My XBox hardware is in pretty good condition.

Freezing, Glitches, & Broken Quests

My game likes to lock up when loading or saving games. It's eaten three save games so far. -
Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?
EnderAndrew replied to Tenjhotenge's topic in Computer and Console
My problem with a mana system in a vamp game is that it disregards White Wolf's rules. Why must D&D games strictly adhere to D&D rules, but when people take something like the Vamp or Shadowrun license, they throw the rules out the window? I'll never understand. I'm not crazy about D&D, but I'm putting stock in NWN:2 because I think Obsidian has better developers. -
Troy was decent. This is a weak year for movies. I haven't seen many great movies this year, so my movie of the year is Garden State.

Alias had a rough third season. But I'm really looking forward to Wednesday nights.

I wish Solich luck with whatever he does, and where ever he goes. I don't like the direction he took Nebraska as the head coach, but he's a good guy who gave the program the better part of his life. Here's the problem with the Rose Bowl wanting Pac 10 and Big 10 schools. Take 1995. Nebraska is undefeated. Penn State is undefeated. Penn State is tied to the Rose Bowl. Nebraska is tied to the Orange Bowl. Both win. Who is the national champion? With the old system (which you're calling for) we'd have Oklahoma, USC, Auburn, Boise State and Utah going to five seperate bowl games. How the hell would we figure out who is the champ? I'd like to see a plus-one game. But right now if Auburn wins, they will likely get a split national championship. As far as the NFL goes, it's hard for me to maintain a strong interest.

I self-flog for entirely different purposes.

I started replaying, but this time as a DS female. I'm really not digging KOTOR 1 as a DS female. The relationship with Carth was awful.
