  2. 4:00 am? Are you in England?
  3. Thanks. I'm just worried that I'm gonna buy speakers and not be able to hook them up.
  4. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-131-451&depa=0
  5. Maybe they'll all work on the newly announced Blitz: Playmakerz next!
  6. Yeppers. My mobo manual says it, the box says it, and newegg.com says it.
  7. Obsidian can hire me, and I'll tell them how to do it!
  8. Processors need to be able to conduct electricity, and also need to be quite small. A friend of mine works for NanoMetrics, and they develop stages to measure down below nanometers. The stages are used to develop and manufacture processors. We've hit a window where we can't find a substance that can get smaller and conduct electricity as quickly. Newer processors (like the ones going into the XBox 2 and PS3) are based upon hyperthreading. There are multiple processors, each with two threads. Instead of one super processor, you get a farm of powerful processors. The technology is currently available on the standard consumer market, in Macs. I kid you not.
  9. I have come across moments that I haven't seen in any RPG, save perhaps for Torment. Some of the opportunities the game gives you are priceless. I'd break down why the story is better, but I try to be respectful of spoilers. And it is possible to have a good story with a poor ending. I've seen plenty of good movies with bad endings (Last Samurai is a great example). I maintain that KOTOR:2's dialogue and story is greatly improved from KOTOR, even if there isn't closure.
  10. I remember that. UO is the only MMO I've paid for. And I liked it for a while. But it wasn't Ultima. And the level grinding just wasn't fun.
  11. It's a single plug. I've been told that there are two types of S/PDIF. The motherboard's manual only states that S/PDIF is THE standard for surround sound.
  12. I thought you lived in Central California. I rather liked Santa Cruz.
  13. Compare those 4 skill points to the whopping disadvantages. Then try balancing them again.
  14. The prevalent rumor is that there won't be a HDD. But they will use cheaper flash memory (like those USB pen drives).
  15. Console manufacturers actually take a loss on the cost of hardware so they can get the consoles in your home. But, they make money on every title sold. I think M$ averaged a $150 loss for every XBox sold. Sony lost less, but their hardware cost less. When all is said and done, M$ says they didn't turn a profit on the XBox, but they didn't lose much either. However, they gained market share. If they can't launch at $300-$350, then they won't sell many consoles.
  16. I have that on my forums. Only one user actually said she was female. I know there are several other females on the forum, but they don't list their gender. Check this thread out: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=1294
  17. You just like being tackled. And I'm not the jealous type. That's her.
  18. I expect the next-gen consoles to launch around $300 just like the XBox and PS2 launch.
  19. We should drive to Ames, IA and cheer up Hades. Or maybe we'll fling poo at it.
  20. PoR2 deleted Windows. In some ways, that can be seen as a good thing.
  21. Paladins have better saves because they add their CHA to their saves. I did a chart on this, but I'm not going to bother right now. Paladins can heal, and have a much better spell selection. Never underestimate the ability to heal in combat. Not dieing is vastly more important than trying to kill someone else. Paladins can wear heavy armor. A higher armor class is pretty nice. Most of the Paladin abilities can be used fairly universally. A Ranger's abilities require that you be in a certain environment. Smite comes into play more often since you run into tons of evil creatures naturally in most settings. Rangers only run into favored enemies when the DM decides you do. I've never seen a DM really do anything to cater to the Track ability. The Paladin Mount is far superior to the weakened companion. Paladins get a full D10 hitdie. Ranger's are the only figter BAB class who gets less than a D10, including all the classes in Warrior supplements.
  22. We're getting married at Burger King. I'm gonna let PrincessSarah wear one of those paper crowns, and everything.
  23. Rosbjerg, Have you ever read Red Meat? I think you may dig it.
  24. There really is something to be said about moments like that.
