Dark Side easier ? I don't think so.
Inanna replied to ukplankton's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I must guiltily admit that apart from watching Atton slowly turn undead, killing Vrook is one of the *major* attractions of the Dark Side... I vote 'over and over again'. -
I wouldn't be worthy of fangirl status if I didn't come in here and say: Atton. He's a deeper character and he's bad. Disciple, on the other hand, is a smarmy little creep.

Dark Side easier ? I don't think so.

I can't really understand why good people would be averse to playing DS. I mean, we get to be good all the time. Here you have a controlled environment with *no* consequences - you're not hurting anyone - and you get the chance to be as rotten as you want. It's what attracts me to playing evil, anyway. It's always difficult for an hour or so (I always do LS/good first, so I feel bad about being mean to NPCs I like) but then it settles into being just what it is, a *story*. It *certainly* wasn't because it was easy. As someone said earlier, I wanted to exert my influence over my slaves - *ahem* party members, and turn people like Bao-Dur and Disciple over to the Dark Side. But to gain influence with them, I had to do good deeds/say nice things. I wish there had been a 'lie' option as there was in part of K1. My character (as I roleplayed it) was *not* doing things out of the goodness of her heart, but purely in order to subvert her henchmen. Very DS, much more so than just running around killing everyone (though that can be fun, too). So, lots of LS points I didn't want. Means to an end *shrug* -
Hidden Kreia fall movie (ala Emperor/ROTJ style)
Inanna replied to Cathari's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually being evil is quite difficult, in K2 anyway... I want high influence with all my henchmen (I wish to drag them down to my level) and so I've had to take quite a few LS hits when talking to people like Disciple and T3, and doing good deeds in order to convert Bao-Dur etc to the Dark Side. I normally play a saint, and so in evil games I usually find the first couple of hours quite difficult - not really because of the reasons outlined in the above posts, more because it's against my own natural alignment and not 'what I would do'. Sadly, after those couple of hours I usually get right into it, and depending on the game in question (Arcanum, Fallout etc) have been known to slaughter entire towns, cackling nastily as I do it. On some level I think I should find this disturbing... So, is this movie unlockable at all? I really wish I'd bought the PC version, you know.... -
Silver, double-bladed. And while ideally I'd be LS, since I consider my own natural alignment to be Neutral Good, I don't know how long I'd last as a Jedi. I have a bad temper and a left-wing fervour, and it's a bad combination that might not work in my favour, lol... There's a few people at work I'd like to use Force Choke on.

Drat, I suspected that might have come across the wrong way. Oopsie, bad me. I actually speak French so it's never been an issue for me - I have found most French people to be perfectly polite and helpful. I was actually referring to the cliche - y'know, 'they speak English but won't help you'. Just cause it's a cliche doesn't mean it's true. A few people *are* like that. I think Atton'd be one of them. 'Sides, if someone marched up to me in the street and started asking questions in a non-English language, expecting me to reply in same language, I'd get a bit narky, too! Not that this post now has anything much to do with droids beeping or anything, so...
-
That's the way I looked at it, too. Basically the same sort of thing as French people who speak English, but won't, if you ask for directions or whatever in English.

Bored so who did you hate the most from both KotOR
Inanna replied to Kalfear's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
K1 loved: Bastila and Canderous. Bastila's bossy and no-nonsense, Canderous was, well, Canderous. Hated: I didn't like Zaalbar or T3 - Zaalbar because as someone else said, he never had anything much to say and I don't know, maybe I'm racist against wookies or something. I know I'm racist against droids, which is why I didn't like T3. K2 loved: Atton (alert! another fangirl) and strangely, T3. He had so much personality this time round that I overcame my anti-droid stance and actually *chose* to have him in-party. Odd. Hated: Well, Kreia, obviously, because she was such a contrary old cow. (This is not to say I didn't think she was a good character - she was a well-done character who I hated.) Mandalore - zip personality, particularly given how much I'd liked Canderous earlier. And Disciple. His Donny Osmond teeth and 1980s boy band hair, stupid earnest voice ... *shudder* Strangely, I am developing a certain respect for GOTO during my interminable evil playthrough. Actually talking to him and bringing him along seems to be making a difference. I couldn't stand him before but have revised my opinion. As for Carth *shrug*. Me female, but never understood what all the fuss was about... -
I think I lost the right to complain about the big boobie thing when I chose my avatar.
-
The Sith just didn't do their homework, did they?
-
Ah, but the question was 'who is the hottest NPC', not the hottest female. You asked a question, we answered!

I finally finished the game for the first time.
Inanna replied to radiohead3's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I rather enjoyed Peragus, too ... it reminded me of System Shock 2. Everyone's dead, and you piece together the story through their journals. There's a homicidal AI out to get you. Good stuff. Obviously it wasn't as frightening as SS2, though - but still fun. (I was enjoying the Deus Ex digression. I thought DE-IW operated on the premise of all three DE endings occurring, too.) -
Bwahahahaha!
-
None of these are hot! They're all women! I vote Atton. So there.
-
DS seems to have thrown up an interesting quest or two that didn't seem available/completable LS, though. Or it could be my unpatchable dodgy X-box version, of course... (Anda's quest is only available DS... right?)
-
I actually thought it required quite a lot of willing suspension of disbelief to go with the 'last Jedi' storyline. The Exile *isn't* a Jedi, he/she's lapsed, yet the Sith are hunting her. The same Sith who don't appear to notice Bastila, Kreia, Visas, the four councillors, etc, etc. (I doubt there's anyone here who will have the ending of Throne of Bhaal spoiled by this, but anyway, here's some space...) * * * * Reminds me of Throne of Bhaal, actually, when at the end you were supposed to be the last surviving Bhaalspawn. Except Imoen, of course.
-
Now you tell me... <_<
-
Me too, I guess, with some caveats: that they don't turn it into something with 'roleplaying elements' like a few other (non-related) franchises have done. I was unimpressed with the end of KOTOR2 but will probably buy KOTOR3 unless it gets really, really low reviews. Fortunately games come out later here than in the US, so I get a bit of time to look at responses.
-
Would you buy KOTOR if it wasn't Star Wars?
Inanna replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I bought it in spite of it being Star Wars. I'm an episodes IV-VI fangirl (largely thanks to Harrison Ford as Han Solo, but hey...) and hated Ep1 (haven't seen II due to hatred of I). So I had my doubts about KOTOR, but bought it anyway because I'm an RPG nerd and there's not much out there lately in RPGs. -
If we're looking at the question of who's better at *betrayal*, not who would pwn the other... Which is more of a betrayal - to: 1. Charge around yelling 'I'm going to kill you' and then try to kill you (Malak) 2. Draw someone into your confidence then force you to try and kill them (Kreia)? Neither of the two are particularly subtle, though. But Malak's just a big plastic bad guy, as someone else said. And he stuffed up murdering Revan, didn't he? (ref. the entire plot of KOTOR1). I don't see why anyone should be surprised, though, given that the whole power structure of the Sith is based on systematic betrayal. I suppose it's sneakier to *not* be a Sith while you're doing your betraying work. If the question is 'who would win a straight-out battle' I'd pick Malak, given that he cheats re the almost-dead Jedi, but that wasn't the question, was it...

I invariably play sickeningly good the first few times through - then I decide to force myself to go against my nature and be evil. I spend a couple of hours feeling guilty and finding it difficult to do the evil quests. Then I invariably get right into it and murder my way across the landscape/galaxy, laughing all the way. :D Heh, heh.

I'll definitely second that, Wynne. Or Pazaak, Naa Shadaa rules! (I wish I could spell)

The Redemption mission on Dantooine
Inanna replied to Jellybelly's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Sadly, I am an Xbox player. Because of my other half's irredeemable addiction to World of Warcraft, it's either buy the Xbox version of games or never play them... Ah well, at least now I know. -
The Redemption mission on Dantooine
Inanna replied to Jellybelly's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I had to beat Geredi three times to do it LS, as well. Another perpetual quest - the crims on Telos (Devaronian - sp? - and Rodian). During my first three plays through, all LS, I was never able to resolve this. However my fourth, DS character found and killed them. Is this quest only resolvable as DS?
