  1. Are the Raptors actually going to be a contender? I don't just mean be a decent East team, but not have a real shot against the big boys of the league.
  2. The opposite answer for this thread goes to Denerim in Dragon Age Origins. Touted throughout the game as the biggest city in Fereldan, blah blah blah, and when I arrive there it's the size of a small outlying village in any other RPG. The beginning village in Witcher 3 (White Orchard) was bigger than Denerim.
  3. I decided to go ahead and start a New Game+ play through. It's kind of amusing to see my starting armor (the Kaer Morhen armor and hunting trousers) have superior stats to the grandmaster witcher armor that carried over from my last game.
  4. Citadel from the first Mass Effect was great to explore. They really streamlined it in ME2 and ME3, so it lost a lot of its splendor. Toussaint in Witcher 3 is great, both in terms of aesthetics and things to do, plus watching people go about their lives. I actually liked Novigrad as well.
  5. The main quest in Blood & Wine didn't feel like the supposed 20 hours. Overall, including side quests and contracts, I probably spent over 20 hours on it. But the actual main quest seemed closer to the 8 to 10 hour range.
  6. Literally every question mark on Toussaint has been discovered by me. All quests done, as well. All I have left is to upgrade my witcher armor by the grandmaster armorer/weaponsmith. Not sure if I'm going to start a new game, but do the whole choose different options thing, or give it a break and move on to a different game now.
  7. I might hold out for a console version like Wasteland 2.
  8. Witcher 3. Finished the main quest for Blood & Wine. Pretty good overall story. Now I just have to finish off a couple of sidequests and treasure hunts in the Toussaint area.
  9. It's been a while since I played it that it's one of those games I might actually get for my PS4. But not until the price drops a lot.
  10. So what looked to be a simple witcher contract turned into an actual sidequest. Cool stuff like that is why I love the Witcher 3 so much.
  11. Still traipsing around Toussaint in Witcher 3. The sidequests continue to have depth to them, just like in the core game. A little disappointed there's not a bit more interaction with the duchess and those surrounding her, though. At least during this portion of the game I'm at.
  12. I mean, it was fun enough in its own way. It was just so obvious that they cut a *lot* out from dialogue/quest options that you'd typically find in a RPG. Heck, I think the new Deus Ex had more dialogue options than FO4.
  13. Fallout 4 seemed to do away with any pretenses of being a RPG with deep dialogue and a lot of choice and consequence, from what I recall. It was basically a bare bones version of previous RPGs.
  14. Finished everything available to do in Witcher 3 aside from traveling to Toussaint. I'm there now. I didn't realize how much there was going to be to do there. I figured it'd be like Hearts of Stone.
  15. The Nilfgaard in the game also seems a lot less brutal than the one in the books. I don't really think the Empress ending fits Ciri's personality in the game. She just screams "Witcher" to me. She achieved her "destiny" by stopping the White Frost and the Wild Hunt. The politics of the world didn't really fall under the "destiny" banner, IMO.
  16. Just finished my first ever play through where Ciri ends up being Empress. It was a bitter sweet ending because, on one hand it felt like she was doing something good with her power/influence, but on the other hand it feels like she should have become a Witcher.
  17. More Witcher 3. I've finally started the Hearts of Stone DLC. I'm actually friggin' annoyed right now because of how they're pushing the romance with It seemed like every option lead to flirting or outright romance when all I wanted to do was play the friends card because I'd decided to go with Triss. So dumb that no matter what you do, your options involve some sort of flirting/kissing. Even if you turn down the chance at sex, Geralt pretty much acts like he's flirting all the way until that point.
  18. Damn it. I wanted Ciri to be a Witcher, but I've since played another 2-3 hours after that. So I'm not sure if I want to load up a save before then, or just go ahead and
  19. I can't stop giggling whenever someone mentions the character 'Dudu". Either that or Hierarch Himmelfart.
  20. I always seem to side with Cerys, even though she looks quite manly.
  21. I'm approaching the part where Geralt heads off to find Ciri after the Kaer Morhen quest. But I'm just polishing off the various contracts and side missions on Skellige before I go. It's a good thing there's no time limit to complete the main quest. If there was, Geralt haggling for extra coin to kill some drowners or playing every person a game of gwent that he meets is probably not a good idea.
  22. Well, I just snubbed Yennefer. Triss, here I come!
  23. I'm addicted to that game (the in-game version, not the separate version). Every single time I come across someone who plays, I have to have a game. "Excuse me, inkeep. I'm looking for someone. My daughter Ciri's in danger. She'll die any moment now if I don't find .... oh, hey, do you play gwent? Let's play a few rounds!"
  24. On Skellige, but I have no money right now. Which sucks because the merchant I came across is selling those maps I need to find the different school Witcher gear and upgrades.
  25. Just about to book passage to Skellige. Too bad I couldn't just swim. Geralt seems to go faster in the water than on a boat.
