  1. I liked the tutorial level right up until the sandstorm. At that point, I just panicked because I didn't have a clue where anyone was or what I was supposed to do. Only way I figured out how to keep Singh alive was by shooting him myself with the non-lethal dart so the enemies would think he's already dead. The sandstorm bugged me because it seemed like I was the only one blinded by it. I couldn't see jack all, but my enemies saw me (and Singh) like it was a bright and sunny day out.
  2. You sure he heard you and didn't see it? I am stealthily the he'll out of everything. Even got around one of them big guys without any combat. No, he heard it because I went out of my way to peek around the corner and only strike when he (the one who was far away) was facing the opposite direction before attacking the one closest to me. I watched his "watch routine" and waited until he got as far away as possible, and was facing the other direction. Yet he still heard me "silently" taking down his buddy.
  3. More Deus Ex. Apparently I really do suck at stealth. I can't seem to knock someone out with a stealth attack without their buddy down the hall hearing me and becoming hostile.
  4. Do you get XP for killing enemies? You should.
  5. Now we can finally discuss this game on here, if only a decade too late!
  6. Yeah, the level design messed me up. I couldn't figure out a way to navigate the levels before realizing you could only access one set of levels by going through the police station (at least that's the only way *I* found to do it).
  7. I love the bank, best fun I've had with games in a while and I like how the games forces me to make clever choices like calling the elevator to the second floor to use to get to the third. BTW the new augs are awesome, remote hacking, dash and the micro assembly are definitively worth their praxis. Just kept dropping my main weapons to make space for the ones that I would dissemble and then use the parts to upgrade them, now I have my 10mm and combat rifle completely upgraded and 1000+ parts remaining. Edit:BTW if you get remote hacking get the sentries, cameras and laser upgrade. It really makes stealth easier. The remote hacking aug seems to only give me the option to turn off cars and open window blinders so far.
  8. Jensen's the same as he was in HR. Though he does move his head a lot when he's talking.
  9. Maybe it's just me, but I'm noticing a lot less vents/air ducts this time around in Deus Ex. I went into the Palisades Bank for a side mission, and there were very few sneaky ways through the levels, other than doing the crouch behind a wall/potted plant thing. Seemed like there should have been more stealth options.
  10. More DX: MD. I'm drawing a blank about what the augment is called -- it's the one that can fire a bunch of gas rockets in a wide area -- but I can't seem to get it to work right. I'll fire it, but I don't have the range down and the gas cloud only hits one or two enemies (there's usually 5 or 6 coming at me). Non-lethal's difficult because even if you tranq one enemy, his buddy will just revive him when he stumbles across him. The tranq rifle isn't much good when there's multiple enemies in a building you have to clear.
  11. More Deus Ex. Well, there goes my non-lethal play through. I came across one of those exo-suit police officers and had to take him down, but found out the hard way that stealth takedowns don't work on him. Since the only thing I had in my inventory that seemed to stop him were frag grenades, I had to finish him off like that. I read online after that an EMP pistol shot can stun him and then allow me to do a stealth takedown. Too bad I didn't have any EMP ammo prior to that mission. :/
  12. I have a feeling I'm missing out on some NPCs and side missions in DX:MD. I generally just follow the main path and pick up side quests along the way that happen to be associated with said main missions. I need to do a better job of surveying the area before tackling missions. One mission I wanted to sneak in to a place, but couldn't see an obvious "back door". So I snuck in through the front door, having to knock a couple of guards out along the way. Only when I completed the objective and was about to leave did I notice there's a vent that leads straight to the street from the room I had to get to. If I had taken that route in the first place, I wouldn't have had to knock anyone out.
  13. I've found there are multiple paths/ways to complete a task. I also haven't run across all these offices that you're constantly sneaking through. On the topic of hacking, my issue is I don't slow down to read the manual about hacking. I forget to use the various programs that slow down a trace or nuke a node, and just go with the plain old click-and-wait approach to each node. Loving it so far.
  14. I enjoyed Human Revolution quite a bit, and I'm enjoying Mankind Divided just as much.
  15. Playing some Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. So far, I'm enjoying it. I suck at stealth, but I decided to go with a non-lethal play through, so that's making things tougher for me. I also have to get re-acquainted with the hacking mini-game. My awareness of my surroundings is also iffy. I'll be tasked with having to get inside a restricted area, so I'll find a ladder and break in a window, only to realize that apartment has no access to where I want to go. So I just end up peeking in that person's drawers and check their e-mail before leaving.
  16. Are you talking about the consoles? We've always had to wait on the PC. I used to plan my day around when it would be time to swap out the next install disc. Yeah, consoles. Took like 3 hours for the update to download. Then again, I probably have a slow ass internet connection.
  17. I bought the new Deus Ex today. I'm just waiting for the update to download before playing it. I remember the good old days when you could buy a game and play it right out of the box without having to wait for updates/patches/etc. to download first.
  18. Usually because games that allow for both do one of the perspectives poorly. For instance, I too play FO in first person, but that's because the third person perspective seems clunky and tacked on as a last minute concession. If a game could implement the option for both, and both were actually done well, I'd be okay with it. As it is, I'd rather them keep RE as a third person view, rather than implement a half-assed third person view to go along with their decision to go first person.
  19. Despite the bossfights I still loved that game, but due to the bossfights I'll likely never replay it. The setting on the abandoned ship was pretty awesome imho. Can only think of one enemy that you had to kill a number of times and that was Rachel. They fixed some of these issues in Revelations 2, but then the setting made me wonder whether I'd managed to stumble into the Tomb Raider reboot by accident... As for what I'm playing, got to level 95 in Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen (DDDA), making my way through Bitter Black Isle with the occasional excursion into The Everfall. Also getting back to Warfame once Titania has finished building in the Foundry, also got Vauban Prime in the cookier, so that's two new frames to toy with soon. That's the love-hate relationship I have with Revelations. I loved 90% of it, but hated the "boss fights" to the point where every time I want to replay it, I remember a boss fight on that level and decide not to. Even if you put the difficulty setting to absolutely wuss levels, the boss fights can still be a total pain.
  20. I dislike 1st-person view unless it's for an actual FP shooter. For RPGs or action/adventure games, I prefer to actually see my character as they make their way through the environment.
  21. Resident Evil 7 is going to be first-person?
  22. I actually really liked Revelations. I thought it was the best combination of the "new RE" and the old school RE games. Plus, Jill Valentine.
  23. Deux Ex is the first game since UC4 that I am actually looking forward to.
  24. This was one of my concerns about purchasing it. From a lot of reviews, it seems to be a very ... shallow game. Sounds like there's technically a lot to do, but 90% of it is boring stuff.
  25. I have three problems with dialogue wheel. 1, Needless obfuscation: written "yes", says "sure". 2, When the short written sentence doesn't match what my character says and/or does. 3, When the dialogue wheel is used to hide my lack of choice. Two or more written choices, but they all lead to my character saying/doing the same thing. #2 and #3 really are the worst. It's crazy how often it seems to be done, though.
