IGN Review!
You're referring to the PC version of KOTOR I? Weird. I had no trouble (no bugs, no crashes, no glitches) when I played and my computer probably just barely met the recommended system specs. Hopefully whatever "bugs" that exist in the XBox version that caught the reviewer's attention are looked after by the time the PC version is released.

Apparently it's a "he". But yeah, his scores aren't over the top, so a 9.3 seems like a very good score. I think people are just worried too much about the low score in graphics, when in reality everyone should have expected it would be one of TSL's "weaknesses".

Its official 8.5 Graphics= Lazy Dev
Yet you use that same reviewer's review on graphics as the basis for this thread? Yeah, that helps your argument.

Actually you need glasses. Read the last page of the review. The reviewer didn't average the five categories evenly. She (I'm assuming hilary is a girl) gave it a 9.3

He's the same troll who endorses car insurance fraud. Don't mind him. He'll be in federal prison before long anyways. I wonder how graphics look on prison-issued TVs. "

In either case, I'm not really worried. Last time I checked, a 9.3 is still a very strong score (unless this reviewer tends to rate even crappy games in the 9+ range).

Gotta agree with this. I'm more interested in the story and how the characters and plot unfolds than whether I'll be able to defeat an enemy in one try or 100 reloads.

Designer Rambling: PC Causality/Triggered Events
Name a game that accomplishes this, including a detail of how it does this in case I haven't played it.

IGN Review!
I haven't read the review, but if the reviewer is using the fact that Obsidian is using the same engine as a basis for lowering his score, isn't that rather idiotic on his behalf? IMO, when I rate a game, I compare it to its predecesor (sp?) and base it on what it hoped to accomplish, yet failed to do. Something like using an existing engine shouldn't be a negative, since it was known ahead of time that that would be the case. IMO, that's like taking points away because it doesn't have FPS combat, even though it was known ahead of time it wouldn't be implementing FPS combat.

I'm afraid to read it in case of spoilers. btw, what did KOTOR score in comparison?

Designer Rambling: PC Causality/Triggered Events
I don't think I can deal with this one. Atleast in terms of game mechanics and the d20 system, Hades had a valid argument. In this case it just seems like he's complaining for the sake of keeping his reputation as a complainer. I personally figured this feature would be a welcome one to most people who complained that KOTOR didn't seem responsive enough based on your decisions. Now that it's implemented and expanded on, he's still complaining.

You ask for things that make no sense at all. Sorry, but this time you're just complaining for the sake of complaining.

Designer Rambling: PC Causality/Triggered Events
The problem is, you're often contradicting yourself about what you want to see happen in a game. On one hand, you say that KOTOR was lacking because YOUR choices (the PC) didn't have much effect on what happened. But now that Chris has stated the opposite, you're saying that shouldn't be the case either. Honestly this time you're just complaining for the sake of complaining without having an actual case.

That makes no sense at all.

Yes, I was. {} <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Women!

Designer Rambling: PC Causality/Triggered Events
That's how I understood it as well. I was just wondering if you were answering yes to my explanation, or yes to my statement about not understanding Chris' post. Now I have a headache.

KOTOR3 or KOTOR2 Expansion?
I like both ideas. I think a short (in comparison to KOTOR and TSL) story about one of the above would make for a nice expansion pack.

Are the speederbikes upgradeable?
That was podracing not a swoopbike anybody can use a swoopbike. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My bad, it was a long time ago i saw ep1. thought it was swoopracing there too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i don't remember that from EP.1....why can't humans podrace?... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because in the SW universe we suck at everything unless we are a Jedi.... and lots of us are :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wasn't that just another example of some stupid thing Lucas added so that he could have an excuse for why it was such a big deal that Anakin (a human) actually won the pod race?

Yes. I'm not a developer but I play one on TV. {} <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes to what? Grrr women!

Designer Rambling: PC Causality/Triggered Events
Does this mean certain events won't occur if your alignment is different than what is needed for it to occur? For instance, if a DS event occurs when you have sufficient DS points, then will this never occur if you are LS? Or did I completely miss what you posted.

Why Do The Sith Want You So Badly?
Read what I wrote again. I didn't say last. I said last KNOWN.

Merry Christmas!
If ever there were a thread that needed to be moved to Off-Topic, this is it.

Why Do The Sith Want You So Badly?
Gee, I dunno. I could be off on this one, but because you're the last known Jedi in the galaxy?

Are the speederbikes upgradeable?
That was more trial and error than anything. I never needed a game guide to tell me what I needed to do with that puzzle. I just had to work it out for myself through trial and error what worked best.
