Finally got around to playing Final Fantasy XV (or whatever this latest one is). Early on, but I prefer the "open world" approach from the one on the PS2 (was it XI or XII?). At the very least, I prefer the characters in that one.

Done the DLC in Skyrim. Just finished my fight with Miraak (or is it Miirak). That was tremendously clunky fighting on a dragon. Who actually thought that would be fun?
-
Yeah, I liked Taris. It was the only level that made playing as anything but a Force user fun.
-
Witcher 3's Blood & Wine is my choice. I also liked Mankind Divided, but not nearly as much. Haven't played Dishonored 2 yet.

Finished the main quest in Skyrim. I had to chuckle over the fact Alduin was a pushover in a fight. I had a tougher time taking on random fire mages that keep lobbing fireballs at you.

Playing through that dark cave bit in Skyrim during the quest to find Auriel's bow; jeez, what an absolutely terrible level. I'm just stumbling around in the dark, with no clear end in sight. How did they think this would be fun?

I still think of KOTOR 3, and you? : )
GhostofAnakin replied to theBalthazar's topic in Computer and Console
Two thoughts: 1-I'd love a KOTOR 3 2-I'd hate it if it were based on that novel. The novel ruined the Revan character (and the Exile) just so they could push forward their TOR MMO. -
Started the Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim. I never bothered with it the first time around so this is a new experience for me. The companion sucks, though. Seems every fight we get into, she'll toss a couple of spells before bowing out of the fight in no time.

Seriously, companion in Skyrim, can you just STOP walking right in front of me when I'm lining up a shot with my bow? It's almost like you're going out of your way to block my target, because when I move over to adjust my aim to avoid hitting you, you move in the exact same direction! I can't even begin to count the number of "critical hits" I've landed on my own companion because they don't have the sense to not stand directly in my line of fire.

ISIS Final Days : Mosul and Raqqa attack imminent
GhostofAnakin replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
That's inevitable when essentially you're fighting against an ideal, rather than a specific group of people. And that's what makes "defeating" any of these terrorist organizations near impossible. -
Is it unskippable? Cutscenes that can't be skipped should be outlawed.

Says the guy who logged a thousand hours on Skyrim. I basically decide which games are going to be good based on which ones HoonDing think suck.

Why is the companion AI just so damn stupid? My sidekick in Skyrim triggers literally every trap/fire plate, even when I go out of my way to try and move around it so my companion (who travels in straight lines, apparently) will follow. To make matters worse, they'll trigger it and remain standing on it so they get hit by the trap multiple times.

Are you using the unofficial patch? I'm playing the PS4 version.

More Skyrim. Ugh ... so I killed an enemy before doing the correct steps in a quest, and now that quest can't be completed because the "arrow" above my target remains over a corpse that I can't interact with. Luckily it was just one of those "miscellaneous" quests and nothing associated with a key quest.

Skyrim is one of the only games where this doesn't bother me in the slightest. I loved how mountains made the world feel huge and after several playthroughs I'd keep finding hidden dungeons and shrines. The mountains themselves were nice to look at. The mountains where I couldn't figure the hell out where I needed to go to get up them were a pain.

One of my biggest pet peeves rears its ugly head again -- mountains/terrain that cannot be climbed, thus making it frustratingly annoying to find a spot you want to get to when it's surrounded by said mountains and there is no clear path to take. Skyrim is bad for this. I'll have to reach a location that is located in the mountains, but I'll spend an hour (an actual hour) running around the giant mountain just trying to find a path that goes up the mountain. Dragon Age Inquisition was annoying with this as well, especially when collecting those damn shards.

I ended up buying Dishonored 2 because of the Black Friday sale.

I've only come across one so far. Apparently I suck as an explorer.

I'm not sure if it's because it's been a while since I played it, or because the quests weren't memorable enough the first time through to stick in my mind, but I'm finding a lot of the side quests in Skyrim are ones I don't recall doing way back when. I can recall with crystal clarity the main quests, but some of these minor ones seem pretty new to me.

My bow is deadly in Skyrim. I've also got a companion who absolutely mops up in melee combat, so it's like the perfect combination. I shoot the enemy twice to lower their health past half, then she finishes them up with her dual wielding swords.

You think? Couldn't tell from the various links to his interviews in this thread.

Get yourself some conjuration spells too You know, I keep forgetting to even bother with those. I stick with my fire spells and just go into a routine.
