  1. You're missing the point. The point is you say Sion wasn't necessary to the story, but fully acknowledge that his PART (ie the things he did) were. Who cares if someone else could have done them? Han Solo was then unnecessary to ANH. He could have just been replaced by any other smuggler, he just happened to be the one. So using your reasoning, he really wasn't important. You've completely gone full circle from your stance because now you're no longer arguing against Sion's actions being unnecessary to Sion himself being unecessary, but if that's the case then 99% of the characters in both games were unnecessary. What was the point of Handmaiden? What was the point of Jolee? What was the point of HK-47? All unnecessary since their parts could easily have been performed by anyone else. In other words, if you're going to start arguing about a character being easily replaced, then name 99% of characters and they become unnecessary. But your first argument was what Sion brought to the game (ie. his part in the betrayal) was unnecessary, which is untrue. SOMEONE had to betray Traya. SOMEONE had to be that antagonist that chased after the Exile. SOMEONE had to be the failed student.
  2. Same can be said for Malak. They could have just had him betray Revan, but get killed as he was fleeing and have a Sith Lord rise to take over the Star Forge. The point is the character DID do those things. Malak DID betray Revan, just as Sion DID betray Kreia. Both are responsible for setting the events in motion, so that's why I think it's silly to say one was not even needed for one story, but the other was vital.
  3. Sometime late at night. I'm going to take some cuddling time away from Sarah.
  4. Yes, you did need Sion because he was Traya's apprentice, the one that she "failed" with. He was the reason she wanted the Exile to succeed to prove that her teachings weren't a failure. Nihilus wasn't. So without Sion, a lot of Kreia's motivations wouldn't have been there.
  5. Maybe Atton nudged Disciple out of the way and took it just as you were handing over the influence to him. "
  6. I was kind of wondering why he bothered to tell us that first part when in reality it had nothing to do with his question, but I refrained (until now I suppose). :">
  7. You mean you got influenced gained over Atton? Or Atton showed up in the cutscene? Or you lost influence with Disciple?
  8. You make this comment: Then follow with this: So in K1's case, if Malak had not betrayed Revan the story wouldn't have taken place. But in K2's case, if Sion (and Nihilus, another guy you said had no real point) didn't betray Kreia, then the story would have still gone on? You contradict yourself so bad in that explanation. The entire reason for the events of K2 is because of Kreia and her goals. She's the one that wanted the Exile back in known space, she's the one that wanted the Exile to draw out those who hurt/betrayed her. If it weren't for Sion (and Nihilus), then Kreia wouldn't have been betrayed, thus Kreia wouldn't have sought out the Exile to do her dirty work, and thus the entire story wouldn't have happened. It seems to me you're downplaying Sion's part and glorifying Malak's part (btw, I do believe BOTH were necessary and integral to each plot) because you liked K1, but disliked K2.
  9. He was Kreia's "failed" student and thus part of her motivation for training the Exile. Saying he didn't contribute to the story is like saying "what did Malak contribute to K1?". What DID Malak contribute? He betrayed Revan, but the story itself could have worked if any other Sith had then defeated Malak and taken control of the Star Forge. The story itself was about Revan and his redemption, Malak just played a part in it. That is, of course, if you narrow his part in the story down the way you did to Sion.
  10. I'll grant Nihilus didn't have much of a part in the game, atleast in terms of a huge connection to the Exile (other than Kreia's assertion that he was created from Malachor and what the Exile did there), but your comment about Sion is way off. He's the one hunting you from the get go (first cut scene), he confronts you at Korriban, and he's the one that goes into a big speech during his fight with you on Malachor V.
  11. Faster way than what? You didn't really give an example of how long it's taken you, so it's hard to give you an example of a way to get it faster.
  12. Seriously? That's suprising considering how many times the question about the kath hounds, water dish, and secret stash have come up on here.
  13. It's not in the Outer Rim, but it's also not where you say it is. It's in the Inner Rim but right on the edge, bordering on the Expansion Region, which is still quite a bit away from the Core Worlds. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's in the "colonies" ring between the core worlds and inner rim according to the map in the d20 revised Star Wars RPG rulebook (p.209). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://www.nav-computer.com/ That site was directed to me by the people in charge of the official star wars forums and those who are in charge of continuity (leland chee)

  15. That's what I figured as well.
  16. So then it's a video game character phenomenon, not a Bastila phenomenon. Thus can be applied to every female on that list that wasn't from the movies. Btw, I disagree with that. Leia and Padme have just as many fanclubs as Bastila. The only reason you see so much of it on here or on forums is because they're generally video game forums. If you did this exact same poll on a non-video game forum you'd have the same kind of gushing over Leia and Padme.
  17. But that adds to the entire package. You saying "if it weren't for the romance option, people wouldn't pick Bastila" is about as valid as me saying "if Padme wasn't the star of the movie, and only had a brief cameo, those people wouldn't pick her either". If Bastila didn't have a romance angle, but still had as much screen time as she did (just some party member you couldn't romance) I would STILL pick her because of the things I listed (her accent, her prissy attitude). I realize I'm getting into a debate about fictional characters here, some of which are pixelated, but my point is you're removing a key part of what Bastila's appeal was. Sure if there wasn't a romance angle SOME might not like her, but the same holds true for every single female on the list, and the same holds true for Leia and Padme if they were just 2 scene eye candy rather than the main female heroines of the movies.
  18. I didn't miss it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yet you still think that we (the people who picked Bastila) wouldn't like her if there was no romance plot, despite the fact we confirmed we would?
  19. You missed my reply then, and the subsequent 2 or 3 people agreeing with my reply.
  20. That wasn't the reason for any difficulty considering that enemies scale to your level anyways, so even though you could get above level 20 in K2, so could your enemies. The games were both easy. The end.
  21. Atleast I *think* you can if he's talking about the part I think he is.
  22. I wasn't actually sure. It's been a couple of months since I last played so I couldn't remember what you got out of it.
  23. Why would you exclude Kreia? That's like saying "well if you exclude Malak, Darth Bandon got next to zero screen time!". You can't exclude Kreia since she's THE main antagonist. btw, I couldn't really answer this without spoilers. Can the mods move this to the Spoiler forum?
  24. Don't you get the XP from learning a new lesson Kreia taught you?
  25. You can also just blast that door open at the control panel...
