RPGs in Production
I'm not sure how tough it would be, but could you add projected release dates?

Diablo III on the rocks
I'd say that if the game has some element of the three things Hades mentioned, you could easily argue it can be defined as a cRPG. *note: "some element" implies a noticeable element. Not just some superficial "yeah there's kinda-sorta-maybe a story in there" type thing.

Diablo III on the rocks
Which is a perfect example of how Hades' theory just doesn't hold water, since different people place more weight/emphasis on different things and thus judge "balance" differently. To say one game is "more" of a cRPG than another based on what that individual judges balance on is, IMO, very arrogant.

TSL Restoration Project: Work in Progress
Please refer to the aforementioned WIP page for current progress. If they all ain't at 100% we aren't done. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know you are getting tired of the question, but look around the forums. Not much action going on lately. Even the posts over at Holowan have lost some intrest. Since school and college are on the way, I think people are starting to change their intrests. However, thank you for responding. If it took you four months to get half way, you people will be at 100% by January 2006. Estimate... February 2006 the latest. 49% Done on April 1, 2005. (Rounded the number off. If everything is equal, the actual number is: 48.928571428571428571428571428571% Complete.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a user made module in their spare time. The fact you keep asking them "when will it be done??? atleast give me an approximation" seems rather rude considering the fact they're doing this free of charge and during whatever time they can spare. No offense, and I obviously don't speak for the Restoration team, but your persistence is coming across as rather pushy and rude.

Diablo III on the rocks
It's not a quantitative measurement when each of those individual sums don't have an actual value associated with them. You can't just say a game needs 33.33% story, 33.33% combat, 33.33% rules system when you can't accurately give a numerical representation of what "story", "combat" and "rules system" is. All three are subjective in terms of what each of them is defined by by various individuals. Because as it is, most cRPGs have all 3 elements. So then it becomes subjective about which of of those cRPGs have the proper balance of those 3 elements.

Diablo III on the rocks
Why not? Because certain games don't conform to your view of what that balance should be?
-
Diablo III on the rocks
I'd argue yes, as per my post just above yours.

Diablo III on the rocks
The bolded part is rather subjective. Everyone's opinion of what that "balance" is will probably differ.

Nar Shadda stumpage
I believe this is one of the known bugs (although I've never encountered it) where the Jek Jek Tarr meeting scene is never triggered. If you can't find anything else to do to trigger it, try a previous save.

Speculation on the Jedi Masters
I don't think their attitude necessarily changed. They always seemed somewhat...skeptical of your presence. Vrook was the only one who was openly hostile towards you. The other two just seemed to think you were too much of a threat, but almost felt bad for having to do it.

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Then there you go. Without this thread here, you'd have nothing to complain about and take up your boredom. It's a win-win. "
-
KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Which is why there is the freedom to post in all those other existing threads that don't have anything to do with KOTOR3. Or the ability to create a brand new thread that also has nothing to do with KOTOR3. So you've still not given a valid reason for how this thread affects you since you're a)not interested in discussing the subject matter and b)not forced to read it.

G-Phoria: KotOR II - Did they earn it?
But using your theory (as messed up as it is), the ONLY reason Diablo II was good was because it copied Diablo. If you took away all the components Diablo II shared with its predesessor, it didn't add a whole bunch. Which is a pretty lame reasoning, but that seems to be the one you're using for TSL. It sucked because it used some of K1's good points, while only adding a few of its own. Yeah, that makes sense.

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Then don't join in it? I fail to see how people discussing something they want to discuss affects you. And before you say "it doesn't", then why post in a thread you don't really want to partake of?
-
KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
So now we're limited to discussing games in development? Really now, Hades, you're cutting down on potential topics.
-
KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
By that definition it's pointless to discuss Oblivion, Dragon Age, and any other game that Obsidian isn't making.

G-Phoria: KotOR II - Did they earn it?
You just described pretty much every sequel out there (FO2, BG2, IWD2, etc). I guess by your definition NO sequel will ever be as good as the original since it shares some things in common with it.

They should ship him off to Spain.

Jack Thompson
His stance also seems to place the entire blame on the video games and video game industry. Does he ever say anything about parents taking a more active role in making sure their kids aren't exposed to this kind of content? If he was truly in this "for the kids", then he'd also be lashing out at parents who allow their kids to buy these games, rather than just the games themselves.

I thought you were the comic relief?

I know. I was just commenting on it to strengthen my point I made.
