Finished the challenges for this weekend in Mass Effect 3 MP (extraction from the three Earth maps, plus the total damage bonus against the Reapers). I still think if BioWare/EA was going to insist on tacking on a MP component to ME3 and making it one of the selling points, they really should have done more with it. If you're going to clone the CoD model, then do stuff like kill/death stat tracking or different game types to play. Heck, have unlockables when you reach certain levels.

Sounds like it was an interesting concept. I'm still puzzled why some games that end up really crappy get the green light, while others with potential get scrapped.
-
I tried some ME3 multiplayer today, my first attempt since earlier in the year, and tried to do some of the challenges on the BSN. Sat in the lobby searching for any game on the Earth maps (part of the challenge this weekend), never found a game. Is the MP even busy? I literally sat there "looking for game" for each of the Earth maps for about 5 minutes each, with no luck.

Are we sure we're not just being trolled? Half of the information from these folks doesn't seem like it's supposed to be taken seriously.

Based entirely on what was written in the OP, and not knowing any further details that may give a different perspective of the situation, your family comes across as kind of petty. They seem to get pissed off at your wife over the tiniest of things, and expect her to show them some sort of reverence whenever she's in their presence. It's a tough situation because these are family, but at the same time, they're not really being understanding or tolerant toward someone you care about.

My loot bag arrived!

I'm still waiting for my confirmation e-mail. -
I still need to give it a try. I really don't know why I never picked it up.

Finished Max Payne 3. I liked the story, I just wasn't a big fan of some of the shooting bits. PS. I saw the twist coming almost from the beginning.
-
One thing I find annoying about Max Payne 3 is that sometimes after a cutscene, I'll lose a gun I had equipped and be stuck facing a host of bad guys with only a pistol (which seems to be the default cutscene weapon). One of the recent missions, I had this really powerful automatic rifle with quite a bit of ammo left, but after a cutscene I was left with only a pistol.

I don't know what has annoyed me more about the Mass Effect series: the ME3 endings or the suggestions on the BSN about what the next ME game should be. Probably the former since it affects me directly, but the latter still make me fume that "shooter" fans seem to be taking over everywhere.

Never played 1 and 2. I'll likely finish it, but I'll grumble about it all the while.

I'm surprised IGN hasn't run with this story yet. Maybe they are waiting for Jessica Chobot to lick a horse first.

It is, but at the same time one would assume that adding a "III" to the title suggests it, like KOTOR I and II, are set within the same relative time frame, with the same events taking place during. Fair or not, fans of the series are also going to expect a third installment to wrap up all loose ends from the previous two games. Like someone else said, if it's not going to be about Revan, the Exile, or the "True Sith" that was mentioned constantly by Kreia, they might as well make it in a different time period. Of course this is all moot since I doubt any sort of KOTOR-esque game gets made. -
Like I said, it's my own fault for not going in with more knowledge of what it would be about. But in my defense, I'd assumed it would play like other Rockstar made games like GTA or Sleeping Dogs, both that are sort of "shooters". Or even a third person shooter version of Deux Ex: Human Revolution. Obviously story and combat heavy, but with "downtime" between missions.

I actually liked the Phantom Menace, other than the podracing bits. And you know it's bad writing when even Natalie Portman, who is generally a good actress, comes across as cringe-worthy on the screen. I just noticed it now. Jake Lloyd reminds me of the Starchild. No wonder I find the Starchild especially annoying.

I'm losing my interest in Max Payne 3. I don't know what it is ... I'm just not having much fun with it. My own fault for getting into it before knowing what kind of game it is, but I think the fact there's no real "downtime" between shooting isn't my cup of tea. Cutscene -> shooting a horde of bad guys -> cutscene -> shooting a horde of bad guys, with not much opportunity to even immerse myself in the world around me. I guess I was expecting more GTA/Sleeping Dogs, where the missions were broken up with Max being able to at least walk around somewhere or buy new guns.

Feargus says he wants to work on a KOTOR III, but I'm not sure what it would be about if Drew Karpyshyn's novel 'Revan' is canon (and I believe it is). Both Revan and the Exile would be ... indisposed. IMO, that novel and the subsequent TOR ruined any chance of a good KOTOR III single player game being developed. At least in terms of providing a satisfying resolution to the Revan and Exile characters, as well as remaining plot points after KOTOR II. -
Guys, you're focusing on the wrong party companion! Fat guy *on* the horse, not the horse. Even though both are romanceable (at the same time).
-
There's a rumor that rideable horses will be available in a Day 1 DLC. But only for those who purchase the golden pantaloon appearance pack.

It makes me sad to read about all the potentially good ideas that got canceled. -
Let's start rumors that that man on the horse is a party companion in DA3, and an anonymous BioWare developer was the one that leaked the information.
-
The Grey Warden put on a few pounds since we last saw him.
-
When I saw the drawing of the man on the horse, I thought this was a link to concept art for DA3.
-
I like the majority of BioWare's games, including both DA:O and DA2. Now if you'd posted a link like that about someone gushing over ME3's ending, them's be fighting words.
