Obsidian why was the game generally too easy?
MTJ replied to MTJ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Your memory must be getting Foggy Alanschu. Kotor had many hardpoints throughout the game. Kotor had what like 2? I have only came close to dieing near the Cerkza base on Telos and the flying sabers. -
The syrack caves only work if you're darkside. Well unless you like 30 minutes to recover your force powers

Obsidian why was the game generally too easy?
MTJ replied to MTJ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The only trouble I ever HAVe in the game is at the Czerka base on Telos with the two turrets. I usually end up getting like 15 mercs and those 2 turrets killing everyone besides the main PC. -
Some of the dark side faces were pretty bad. I choose that blad chinese with the goatee and I never EVEN develop one vein. I just got very very pale.

Stop the whole Exile + Raven fighting the Sith.

*ding* *ding* *ding* The winnah! I'd much prefer to have a game where you start off as a young Padawan, and learn about the force and whatnot. Construct your own lightsaber, and take on the role of a Padawan to a master. Have real significant choices for your darkside/lightside crap. Have a guy kill your master and the way you deal with it determines your destiny. But still allow for redemption/fall. I played through as a predominantly light side Jedi as Revan in KOTOR 1, since I was trying to always do the right thing. But while on Korriban, I knew I had to embrace the Sith ways to keep my cover...upon learning about them, I figured it'd be good to learn about these teachings to further my understanding about the Force. Little did I know it would dominate my destiny! Soon I was betraying my friends, and exploiting people. No one would stand in my way! I had waaaaaay more fun playing the game that way than I ever did being all the way lightside or all the way darkside. I didn't get my darkside mastery bonus until I was on the planet and conviced Bastila to join me...which seemed just perfect! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There are easy ways to screw that idea up. What if a developer choose that a "young" padawan wasn't a 15 yearold, rather they make it so your character is 12 and you end up doing stupid puzzles for 5 hours till you get to see some real action. All I ask for is a game where you're a padawan, with a jedi master. With enemies that are not push overs (K2 cough). -
I have always been wondering that. In Kotor 2 the master speed + master flurry combo killed most enemies and bosses in one attack round! I hadn't actually tried making a game where I don't level up master speed and flurry. But still I ended up with Lightsabers that do 6-50 Damage (double bladed) along with Juyo form and master speed. I ended up doing 5 attack rounds a turn doing 200-300 damage in ONE round. Which most enemies usually die from... the question is why was KOTOR 2 a walk in the park compared to KOTOR? In every game for KOTOR you needed master speed and flurry to survive, without them you were pretty much dead meat. But in K2 all the enemies are extremely push overs, it never seem that their base health wasn't high enough to pose a threat.

Yeah I have to agree about the DS being cut. The game is really set so your character is meant to be a jedi (even though I hate the whole Kreia killing master thing). Lets see -Cool robes -Every party member is influence with good acts (that can become a jedi) -You get better mastery bonuses -The Prestigse classes are way superior (e.g. Watchmen has more reflex than Assainan) (Weaponmaster gets deflect and weapon reduction). Also the Sith prestigse have broken skills like fury. -So much diolouge When playing K2 I ususally end up playing the LS, than the DS. Though in KOTOR I usually ended up playing the DS side more. hmmm

Stop the whole Exile + Raven fighting the Sith.

They don't even know a role. Otherwise we would be hearing about Exar Kun all the time for the heck of it. Everything doesn't revolve around by a rejected jedi/sith lord -

well, given the story arch we are in now, there are some real advantages to having a PC that is the UNOFFICIAL FORCE BADDIE. The PC may decide to join a faction (such as the Jedi or Sith) but he is still going to save the galaxy regardless of his official faction affiliation. I think the connection should be a blood connection (i.e. Revan's nephew or niece). Or, if you chose a non-human PC, you have this blood connection with the Exile. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Having a family member would be done as Reven nor Exile knows any family members -
You guys do know that Obsidian cannot use any "stories" that you guys posted, otherwise you can sue them.

Keep replying like a retard. its all you have now. Post all you want, you're a failure and your parents probably disowned you

The next game will have to take place during the construction of the new jedi order or we're going to get a time shift to another era like K1 to k2. It was 5 years between the 2 -
Well my point is that everyone is being a noob and is thinking that Raven is still alive. He's a fricking blue glowly fighting the dark side of the force, why did you think he didn't need his ship? He has been fighting in Spirit and now the exile has joined him. Though teh exile legacy (Atton, Mira, Bao-dor) live on and construct the new jedi order
-
It sucks and it doesn't make sense. Both Raven and Exile are blue glowies man. Also WHO THE **** IS STAYING BEHIND LIKE IN CANNON TIMELINE TO ****ING START THE NEW JEDI ORDER
-
Hey we should have the game where you play as a blue glowly Raven with the Blue Glowly Exile and you fight the darkside of te force it's what everyone wants.
-
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hardly. The original movies in today's standards had worse acting than Revenge of the Sith. You can't compare a movie that has been done 30 years to movies that have been created a month ago. Hmm the originals had good acting? I really like the great acting like the stormtrooper that hit the bulkhead and felled down oo yeah. How about the bad acting with the extras? If I recall some distant extras look DIRECTLY at the camera for crying outloud. You can't say Revenge of the Sith has bad acting while the original does. Revenge of the Sith has much better acting than most of the crap coming out today.

I concur. While im sure the graphics will be upgraded. Why should they change engine? It always amazes me over the years, people ask for new engines in highly successfull game lines, developers do it, and game tanks as it loses its feel. I hope they keep same engine and just upgrade graphics, keep the fundamentals the same so KotOR franchise continues to be the star it is. If it aint broken, dont fix it <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think that it is possible to keep the same feel for a game franchise when going from one engine to another. They just need to keep the focus of the originals when making the next one. And who says changing the feel of a game is a bad thing. What if it changes for the better? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If that is the case how come no one is using hte Quake 3 engine anymore? It's simply because older engines (like the one running Kotor) simply can't handle the cool stuff today like hoods (well that are switchable). I find it funny in the opening scene that Kreia looks like she is moving her hood down but doesn't hah. Her hands go right through her hood

Stop the whole Exile + Raven fighting the Sith.
MTJ replied to MTJ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Maybe I am not really talking about the story itself, I just don't want the damn setting to be set in unknown space, with only 2 characters with them being blue glowies for crying out loud... -
Seriously just ignore all the people who say "Exile and Raven should be in the next game fighting the sith empire" is complete garbo. http://www.answers.com/topic/dates-in-star-wars A new jedi order is being built, I rather be a jedi knight rebuilding the order, saving children, stealing Candy from Baby (whatever), and fighting the Sith (they don't go into hiding for another 1000 or so years). Seriously who the heck whats to play a game with only two characters (exile and Raven) who are fighting the Dark side of the force as blue glowies? I won't even touch the box of Kotor 3 if the whole game is nothing but being a blue glowly like Ben Kenobi kicking the crap out of black glowies (worse idea ever). I rather be in the known universe as a jedi master, saving people, fighting sith who ARE alive, rebuilding the order, and maybe even have my own real padawan whoses skills are reflected on my own. Or from a dark point of veiw destroy the new jedi order (which is the order in Ep1-Ep3) and pretty much scrap all the history I know a lot of 11 yearolds find the prospect of being a blue glowly to be entertaining, but I hardly think anyone else would.
-
I hate people who say K3 should be the exile + Raven. There are serveral problems if the Exile and Raven are out in the middle of nowhere, how exactly do you get new party members? quests (assuming you don't get blasted by sith on the spot) and training? I rather be one of the remaining Jedi who form the new order (the order we see in Ep1 and destroyed in Ep3). I just find the whole idea of rebuilding the order, recruiting new jedi, doing quests, hunting down the infinite fleet, hunt dark jedi and the sith than fighting the Dark side of the force as a glowly (lol Exile and Raven glowly).

The engine cannot be upgraded anymore. They coudln't throw stuff like hoods in the engine as the engine cannot support that kind of information
-
' The guy is simply trying to cash in. It's like the website http://mikerosoft.com Plus Kotor 3 website will be hosted on lucasarts. At most it may have a shortcut link like www.kotor3.com but they're not going to spend 5000 dollars for a said url
-
That they should of included the other Prestige Classes like Officer? I personally thought that Mandalore need a 2nd class so why not give him a prestigse class? Also don't get me started with Mira, her starting class is a prestige class! *faints*

How do I get the cheats to work?
MTJ replied to The Jedi Master's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Surely a jedi master would know how to enter a cheat... -
Wait did you say the sabers are over powered in Kotor compared to Kotor 2? What the heck are you smoking. Kotor 2 allows you to make a saber that does 50+ damage, you can't do that in Kotor. Also from what I can tell you is that Sabers with Master speed and valor doesn't take everyone down in one hit like in Kotor 2.
