  1. Much of that sounds eerily familiar. This I can agree with. But needing more sleep, nope, didn't notice that at all. It may of course be true for some, but not for most - at least not in my experience. You and me both. He usually sleeps slightly less than one hour (from the four total) right after dinner. This hasn't changed in my lifetime though. (My father's in his mid-fifties.) Not that often. I may try to increase my flight hours in the future. I may try that. Trouble is, if I have something to read, that usually eats out of the time I otherwise would spend asleep. Not as such. While I have taken a few classes, I've actually done far less programming since than I did prior to said classes. Some things just stick, like the obscure humour. In my case, I think it works the other way round, I seem to stay up one hour later. And nothing I've come across appears to reset that, including AAAAAAAAaa!! Bright light!!! Bright light!!! My mind needs to learn the basics of cycling, I guess. Not totally unrelated to the topic at hand, I was somewhat addicted to coffee a while ago. When I could no longer stay alert for very long without several hits of caffeine during the day I decided to make a change. It was quite tough for a few weeks, but now I feel more alert all through the day than I ever did while drinking all that coffee. This could also be due to taking a more healthy approach to life in general. I still drink tea, and after overcoming the addiction, it's no problem to have a cup of coffee every once in a while either.
  2. Did anyone see that episode of South Park where they 'played like' Lord of the Rings. Pretty funny. They even met some kids playing Harry Potter (as in pretending to be the characters from the books/films), and of course immidiately branded them gay. And there was a hilarious mix-up when Stan's dad had rented two films, LotR for the kids, and pr0n (yeah, I hate that spelling too) for the wife and himself. Ah, good times.
  3. My 'vote' is on 5-6 hours, as that has been the case lately. With that amount, I feel pretty much fine for the duration of the day. However, I average all of the alternatives listed from time to time (well, I probably have never averaged 10+ over a period of more than 3 days). Sleeping too long, even to make up for lost sleep, is something I strive to avoid. 10 hours or more usually gives me a bad headache. I think I slept for 20 hours or so once, though I probably woke up and turned over more than once during that time. Don't think I could possibly sleep longer than that, or even get close to that again. Oh, and as a teenager, I slept substantially less. Then I would usually average less than 4 hours a day, and that average accounts for some extra hours during the weekend. Suffice it to say, mornings weren't my favourite part of the day. Had little trouble getting through the day though, so it more or less worked fine. Of course, being somewhat nocturnal and a part-time insomniac may have something to do with all that. By the way, my father averages 4 hours a day. Sometimes less. Never more. And he doesn't 'make up' for it on the weekends. Doesn't seem to do him any harm. Off-topic, I have a surprisingly high number of lucid dreams. Spontaneous ones, that is. Haven't a clue why. I don't know if someone called Dr. Dement is a source I want to trust blindly, or any research that old (a lot of 'research' from that period has later turned out to be ludicrously wrong - not that all modern research is well conducted), but I certainly believe we need sleep to function. I believe the number of hours needed is individual, and that it can vary more than the so-called experts I've seen in common media claim. I don't agree to the numbers metadigital lists as given by Dr. Dement and his research. Visual or other stimulation can not, in my experince, replace sleep. I don't know what kind of stim-packs you are on, Launch... " Also, it seems some of the researchers Launch mentions may have fallen asleep while conducting their studies. This is merely a disagreement and not a personal attack (I wouldn't dare  ). My opinion (and this opinion is based on some scientific mumbojumbo I've read during my life, and probably also some madeup mumbojumbo that happened to catch my fancy - it may thus be somewhat askew, and even, though this I doubt, completely wrong) is that sleep at the very least serves the purpose of 'defragmentating' the mind, filing the day's input in the appropriate drawers, and then giving it a fresh reboot. And I have had dream-like 'hallucinations' when sleep-deprived. I don't know if I would call it hallucination; it was basically just like a dream, only I wasn't sleeping (well, that is possibly open to discussion as well - I was sitting upright with my eyes open and I snapped right out of it when after a few seconds I realized I was dreaming). I've also been 'micro-sleeping' at the wheel, and once I was very fortunate it didn't have any impact. Since that experience, I always pull over to rest when I get very tired. Anyways, the time you need to react to a situation increases dramatically even if you're just a little tired, so driving in such conditions is really not a good idea. $deity, now I've created a monster post as well! Damn you people with your interesting discussions! Finally, I concur to Kaftan's bemoaning of the tyranny of the morning people. They'll all be first against the wall when the revolution comes!
  4. ...and then managed to improve the situation substantially... (Yeah, I know. Pot, meet Kettle.) Launch, it seems FG is becoming almost as soft as Carth these days. " Telrunya - Finally we get chocolate! *Applaudes*
  5. Would you need to take it out with a Holy Hand Grenade? If so, would that be considered DS? First time I played the game I was a male Guardian/Weaponmaster and I laughed out loud when I first got the Dancer's Outfit and read the description of it (Usable by: Mira, HM, my character). I was somewhat disappointed when I noticed it said 'restricted to female characters' further up... "
  6. Wait, is that how Yoda's race looks when they're younger?
  7. You could always ask Darth Flatus about that. Oh, and great pic! You should not pay attention more often, it seems. (In no way do I mean to imply that your other pictures aren't also very good!) Ok, maybe Malak looks a bit passive just there, but then the game is turn-based... :D Saraya, yours are very nice as well!
  8. Personally I much prefer Opera to Firefox. It's not open-source, and it can hog a lot of memory at times (at least the old version used to, new one out recently), but I like its functionality and layout far better. I've tried a number of applications I would rather use than WMP. I've stuck with Winamp for playing music, more out of habit than anything else. I've also used some of the other software already mentioned, like BSPlayer and Irfanview, and my experiences with such programs have for the most part been very positive. Which is more than can be said for some of my experiences with MS software...
  9. Light chocolate then? Very good.
  10. You mean the one where he and the wife are trying to have a baby? Yeah, I agree, but he was somewhat whimsical as well. Or perhaps I just can't see him without thinking 'tall and whimsical'. 'Maybe Baby', that was the title, had to look it up on imdb.com. Apparently he also played King's Advisor in 'The Man in the Iron Mask'. (The latter is reading the thread as I'm writing this as well...) And according to imdb he's sometimes credited as Stephen Fry... Ahem.
  11. Perhaps that power has the prerequisite 'Only usable by small, wrinkly and green midgets'?
  12. Are they covered in chocolate?
  13. Aren't you from that country where you hunt foxes for fun?
  14. I remember LS Silver...*reminisces*... The galaxy was a better place then. DS games do tend to be more one-sided. I think the DS options (in actions and in dialogues) are less elaborate than LS. Not that I would advise against playing DS, though. I think it makes most sense, given the available Force powers and their alignment, to play as Weaponmaster if you're LS, and Sith Lord if you're DS. Seeing as the DS powers are mostly damage-dealing, and the LS powers are mostly stat boosters. On the other hand, no matter how you play the game you get so many Force points, you can easily use Force powers of opposing alignment. (A LS Jedi using excessive Force Storm and Kill is a little 'wrong', though. " ) Bottom line, any way you feel like playing the game is the right way. EDIT: Now with spelling!
  15. Only if Revan is female and both are in the nude ...the fight could also be in chocolate So Sentry which are ya gonna do? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everyone likes chocolate. I vote for more chocolate-covered art.
  16. Not to mention that the life expectancy for those who did make it beyond infancy was dramatically lower than today. Disease and war would take many young'uns as well. Still does, to a lesser degree. I think that was it...
  17. Vader speaks the truth. He really is your father. Errm, no. It should not be hard to gain enough influence with everyone. It certainly isn't hard to get enough with both Atton and Bao, as you can have enough influence with Atton (and some influence with Bao as well) even before visiting your first planet after Telos. There's an influence guide at gamefaqs.com which lists how you can gain influence with the different party members. Apparently (I've been ignoring these characters during my previous games, so I can't say for sure), with enough influence HK will give his tips on how to kill Jedi. This gives your character a bonus to some stats/abilities. G0-T0 gives you a backstory and some XP, and you can also get rewards from him for stabilizing the different planets (through dark side dialogue options). As for Candy-man, I don't know. Anyone?
  18. Nothing beats a good saucepan on your head.
  19. There are mods around, though, which add Revan's robes, including da hood (and possibly the mask, but I'm not sure about that). Possibly there are mods for other hooded robes as well. These would presumably be found at places like pcgamemods.com.
  20. Ah. That was what I reckoned too, when I couldn't find it. I read a post here somewhere though, which led me to believe there should still be a compartment there. Simple misunderstanding, then.
  21. Hmm. I found the one in the dormitory, but the one in the cargo room isn't there...
  22. Here's a comic strip I read just the other day. Someone (FaramirK?) said something in a post that reminded me of it. It's in Norwegian, so for those of you who don't understand the language, I will translate below. 1st frame Christian guy, who comes calling: Hi there! May I tell you a little about Jessuss [yes, silly spelling]? Main character, answering the door: What? Are you a Christian? C: Yes? M: Why? 2nd frame C: Because... The Bible says 'And so much did God...' [how does that go in English, I forget] M, interrupting: But that's just a mouldy old fairytale book! C: It is? M: Yeah! 3rd frame M: Why don't you come in have a beer instead! We're watching 'Wrath of Kahn'. C: But... M: No "but"! C: Errr... 4th frame M: Meet Job and Isaak. They're Mormons. Job: We were Mormons! Isaak: Now we're Trekkies.
  23. Well, you live and learn. Good to know if I ever decide to go into the shampoo business. A long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away.
  24. Ok, thanks. That's what I read earlier as well, more or less. But this time I was only around the battle circle where you fight/spar with the Mandalorians, never had time to go anywhere else, it all took about half a minute. That wasn't the case in my earlier game, so I was, like, what the fudge?!
  25. Omg. Dorkiest thing ever! I love it! A friend of mine would kill to get his hands on that suit.
