There are rumors of a werewolf companion. It would be great if you got Velanna (dalish mage) for helping the dalish and the werewolf for slaughtering them. Which is why it won't happen.
-
That's already happened.

I like the fact that you're dismissing my statement while simultaneously agreeing with it.

The debate here seems to be 'is DA as good or better than BG 2?' Which isn't the same as 'is Dragon Age a good RPG?' As far as I know, even those who find obvious flaws in DA consider it a good RPG. Besides, outside of Elder Scroll type open world games, Dragon Age is very long. It's the biggest BioWare game since BG 2, and one of the longest RPGs I've ever played. As such, I have a bit of sympathy as to why the developers didn't add more stuff. I think playing as a dead PC is stupid, but that

Jory did draw his sword first and lunges first. Greedo shot first!

While I think his books are okay, they're basically a high level DnD campaign with a new magic system. If you want non-standard fantasy, I'd point towards Labyrinth or Pampilset by Valente or Perdido Street Station by Melville. If you like unusual magic systems, I think all of Brandon Sanderson's work is more interesting. I think it's telling that when asked what Duncan would have done after Ostigar, David Gaider said he would abandon Ferelden to the Blight, join up with the Orlesian Wardens and army massed at the border, fortify that position, and take down the archdemon when it tried to enter Orlais.

BioShock 2 handled this surprisingly well. Each weapon feels fairly unique. Whatever Mass Effect 2's flaws when it comes to combat, I find it far more entertaining and interesting than ME 1 was. I use cover all the time. Maybe too much, but in ME 1, I only used cover when I fought the rocket drones on the moon and when I fought the colossus on whatever planet you rescue Liara on. After my soldier got immunity and some of the better armors, I'd fight enemies by running right at them and taking them down one by one as they all shot at me. ME2

When it comes to modding, I doubt Dragon Age will ever meet or exceed Neverwinter Nights in having a large, active community. This isn't because Neverwinter Nights is more popular or a better game - it's BioWare's worst game in my opinoin - but the toolset is easy to work with. With NWN, I spent three hours going through a toutorial and ended up with: 1. Three new areas 2. A couple of NPCs, two of whom gave you a quest. 3. Two combat encounters. 4. Two questlines with appropriate journal entries. It's a complete mod, albeit a simple one that would take all of ten minutes to play. With Dragon Age, I've worked in the toolset doing tutorials for over eight hours and still have nothing.

Well that explains it. So she goes from cold, deceitful and manipulative to devout and nice, because a deity is speaking to her? Come on Maria, it might have a certain logic to it, but the character is pretty much insane. Its because she's an attempt to shoehorn a completely different character into Imoen's appearance and personality, and the end result is weird. She was never cold, deceitful, and manipulative. She was *sweet,* deceitful, and manipulative. Honestly, the only thing that Imoen and she share personality wise is that they

Leliana was a bard; being sweet and charming is necessary for the job. Thane killed people by sneaking into their house and stabbing them. Leliana killed people by being invited into their house and stabbing them. The entire point of the bard class is that they entertain and get others to let their guard down. How could Leliana do that if she was the type to sit in the corner brooding about the weakness of the mortal coil? Moreover, while she did kill people, the majority of her work was not killing. It was spying and information gathering. Yes, she

You can play as your dead Warden in Awakening. Your DEAD Warden. This is after years of telling us that they made the combat system the way they did because in Thedas, death was 'meaningful.'

I consider Morrigan, Alistair, and Sten memorable characters. I'm not sure what about Leliana confused you. Oghran is a serious character? People constantly complain that he's a joke character.

I sent Leliana from DA down there. The howling in anger and swearing lasted for three days. When it quieted down, I found them giggling and sipping hot coco in a pillow fort they'd made.

It's easier to set up games like that on PCs as well. We're never going to see a BioWare RPG where you can use PC + five companions at a time again. PC + three companions + summoned critter is the most you can hope for. There are no romances in Awakening, by the way.

Huh? I could have sworn that they have had the same team atleast the last 7 years. Then the one who keeps his finger on repeat is someone else in there. As far as I know, Dragon Age was developed in about 6-5 years. They had a max of four writers working on it at one time. David, Mary, and Sheryl were there all the time. Jennifer, Ferret, and Fernando were cycled through, but they didn

A giant clusterf**k in the making. -
Dragon Age had only one writer that had worked on a previous BioWare game.

If it matters, the writers for Awakening are

Well, they can also charge valiantly towards certain death on their own. But it's better than ME1. Different squadies act in different ways depending on their personality. Miranda and are good at staying back while Grunt and Jack both love to run forward and die.

There are still people who complain about running out of ammo. I think the ammo is to discourage a certain type of play style.

"I enjoy seeing humans on their knees." O.o "That was a joke." "Right."

I hope I stop hearing about how the asari are all too-perfect Mary Sue space elves. Anyone have favorite lines, yet? Samara: It is deplorable to force living creatures to fight for entertainment. After we have finished your mission, I may return here to teach the krogan the value of compassion. I'm going to need a lot of bullets. I played almost full paragon last time, but renegade feels far more reasonable this time. Interrupts seem most annoying when you don't want to use them. For example, there's an interrogation scene that lasts forever if you don't use the renegade interrupts and start smacking the dude.

That Miranda reads your personal e-mails is alluded to in the game and you
