If you're playing a LSM character with high influence on Handmaiden and less influence on Visas, and you've completed the game at least three times, then Handmaiden tells you that Atris was indeed in love with you before you went off to fight in the Mandalorian War. You have the option to confirm that, or tell Handmaiden that "if I knew it, perhaps it could have become something". IIRC it was one of the dialog options in the cargo hold of the Ebon Hawk: "Tell me about Atris".

It does work on Malachor V (PC version, patched).

I've never had Force, and for KotOR II I fully agree with you on Force Breech, but the other four powers I do find have their uses, mainly on the harder difficulties when every edge you can get is necessary. I agree with you that there are some positive sides to those powers, but today I feel I've to play the devil's advocate, so here we go Although I've never used it, from its description I understand that it takes away your vitality points when using a force power. With other words: it makes you weaker! Against difficult enemies this is a no-no and against easy enemies you don't need it. Since Guardian-type characters probebly lack the WIS and CHA modifiers to use offensive forces anyway, this power seems utterly useless. I usually finish the game around level 27, so that gives me Inspire Followers III at the end game, where I still have a party. So for 45 seconds I can give them a +3 to attack, damage and will save. Why not use Master Battle Meditation, which is already available for a level 18 character? It gives +4 to attack, damage and will save and has a chance to demoralize the enemy. Its only downside is the short duration of only 20 seconds. First of all, wearing heavy armor reduces the DEX modifier for defense purposes only. It doesn't affect your attack rolls. That's why it makes sense to give Canderous a high DEX, if you build him as a ranged fighter. Secondly, throwing your lightsaber makes you vulnerable for blaster bolts: you can't deflect them anymore, unless you've invested in Force Deflection/Redirection. And finally, look at the damage it does: 1d6 per two levels of the character! That's comparable to Force Wave. A level 20 character does 10d6 (average 35) when throwing and 30 damage with Force Wave. FW hits everything around you withing 15 meters, ATL hits only 3 enemies, if the first is at least 5 meters away. The only advantage I see in ATL is that it always hits Why not use Master Heal to prevent them falling in the first place? If one of your party members falls so quickly that you have no time to heal him/her, then revitalizing/healing wont probably help much. Other useless powers (in my opinion): Beast Trick (why not use stun/stasis?) Mind Trick (doesn't this also works on beasts?)

He needs the credits to leave Telos . If you re-visit the docks, you'll see him waiting for a ship.

Lightsabres and related questions
Heckur replied to Kievan Rus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think it has something to do with your level, or the number of lightsabers already in your posession. When I visit Nar Shaddaa as first or second planet after Telos, I always get a lightsaber (part) there. But later on, it doesn't anymore. -

No, I'm not sure about it. In my memories it gives me a lightsaber, but memories are the most unreliable form of history... -

Lightsabres and related questions
Heckur replied to Kievan Rus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
From the top of my head: - Dantooine: the salvager locked in the sublevel (forgot his name), Master Vrook, dead salvagers will (when forged). - Nar Shaddaa: Lootra, Vogga's Vault. - Dxun: Mandalore, Cannok - Onderon: Dhagon Ghent - Korriban: Master Vash As long as you don't have all three parts to construct one, you'll get parts instead of light sabers. Kreia can modify only one crystal, which you will find on Dantooine. It's your 'pet crystal', it's bound to you: while you grow stronger, the crystal gets better attributes. Very nice! -
I'm doing a LSF solo sentinel/watchman right now: - No reloads, except when the game crashes; - No party members: when you are forced to take one, like on Telos or Onderon, he stays behind, hidden in a corner; - No party members using the work benches; - Game difficulty level is normal. I started as a 10/14/14/14/14/12 sentinel, concentrating on defense: defensive powers, dueling and updating my CON to get the better implants. At the same time I worked on dual wielding to carry two blasters. Every enemy that drops dead before he reaches you is a bonus. Blaster using enemies are no real danger: when using Force Redirection and a shield, you hardly take any damage from them. Used stealth and mines a lot: to scout ahead and prepare for dificult fights. Sometimes I had to run away to heal, like on Telos (mercs and droids). Recently I carried two Heavy Mandalorion Blasters, using Master Speed and Master Rapid Shot to take out two to three assassins in the Korriban acadamy, finishing the rest with light sabers. I'm dual wieling light sabers: a short green defender (stat booster, defense, blaster bolt deflection) and a violet saber for attack (high attack, pet crystal, lot of damage). Progress so far: Telos, Dantooine, Dxun, Onderon, Korriban. I'm heading to Onderon again to support the queen. This is my most enjoyable game so far: it keeps you on your toes. When having a party, there is no challence after Telos. But when soloing, I can't allow myself to die: end of game and no reload.

Things to think about: - Every time before entering a new room, set some mines first. - Let Mira keep her jacket: it has very nice damage reducing qualities. - If you didn't give her close combat feats, switch to melee fighting when she's attacked with blades. - Equip melee shields. - Use grenades.
-
Reload a game where you are still outside the acadamy. Normally, when you enter the acadamy, the Handmaidens ask to drop your weapons. Then a movie starts where Kreia and Atton have a conversation in force cages. Perhaps you have updated your game with the latest patch and answered the Handmaiden's question with: "All right, we mean no harm", when entering the polar base? In that case, after reloading, choose another answer or patch your game again with: http://3dinfinity.com/kotor/files/rzf_262imprison_csfix.rar

It helps if you select some other language than English in your spell checker first :D

I think the unarmed combat system is flawed for two reasons: - Strength now adds to the attack bonus, while it should only do extra damage. - Dexterity now has no effect on the attack bonus, while it should. Look at all those martial arts we know in real live: if you're slow you won't hit your adversary. But if you do hit him, and you don't have much strength, you won't do much damage. In TSL, if you have a high DEX and low STR, you can't win unarmed fights, like against the Handmaidens or in the battle ring, because you can't hit them. Even having a feat like Finesse Melee Weapons doesn't help. Maybe we only need an extra feat, like Finesse Unarmed, to add your DEX modifier to your attack modifier. What do you think?

You can also persuade Saquesh to let the girl go, or pay her mothers depth.

You have several options here: you may choose for a balanced party: one melee fighter, one ranged fighter and one force user. Or balanced in the skills area, e.g. if you were a guardian, you'll need someone to open locks or repair droids. It's also smart to take a character that 'knows' the area: Mandalore on Onderon, Atton on Nar Shaddaa, ... Most characters have much to say in such area's and are mostly silent in others. Kreia will never disappoint you, but after taking her two times (LS/DS) through the game, you know almost everything she has to tell you. After replaying the game several times, I find it the most fun to concentrate on only two characters at the time and 'design' my character for that purpose. E.g. if I wanted to take Atton and Kreia, I would be a LS or DS female sentinel: romance with Atton, concentrate on skills the others don't have, melee fighter, Atton as ranged sniper, Kreia as ranged force user. Talk to everybody in ship once in a while. Influence and LS/DS orientation determines a lot here. Your party doesn't matter much. The more you take a character to an extreme, the more difficult the game will be in certain situations: when you have a perfect ranged character, you _will_ come in a situation where you need to fight with melee weapons. This gives the game more replay value. Melee/LightSaber: concentrate on STR (better hit and damage) and CON (more hit points, better implants). Use 2-weapon fighting and flurry. Choose stat-boosting force powers, because offensive powers will fail most of the time, because of your low WIS and CHAR. Very easy build. Optional: high DEX for extra defense and weapon finesse melee (works for lightsabers too) to use your DEX modifier as attack booster if it is higher than you STR modifier. Ranged: concentrate on DEX. Choose for rapid shot and combine it with the force speed range. Have a high defense and close combat feats or prepare to fall back on melee fighting. Alternative: high DEX and INT and concentrate on sniper shots with keen weapons. Or power shots with keen weapons (power/sniper shots don't combine with the speed forces). Use Force Deflection to be able to deflect blaster bolts without wielding a light saber. Rifles are more keen than pistols, but you can dual wield pistols. It is a challenging build to finish the game with. With a high CON and the right implant you sometimes get a lot of free feats. This allows you to spend feats in other areas, to be more versatile. Offensive force user: concentrate on high WIS/CHAR/DEX (14/14/14) to start with. Then increase your WIS. Be consular/jedi master. Be male and take the Handmaiden with you for extra defense later on: Use duelling and a single blade for extra defense. Use weapon finesse melee. Concentrate on speed, valor, energy resistance and force barrier for defense and statis, stun droid and lightning for offense. Very easy build. Only the end boss will give you a little trouble. First use flurry/speed for melee fighting. Later on, when your attack modifier is high enough, use power attack/speed and a keen weapon. Alternative: stun the enemy and use a ranged weapon to finish it of. When you have lightning: stun and zap. To gain influence you must understand the character you're talking to. Kreia wants to teach you and likes to manipulate others. So if you don't accept her advice, or turn extreme LS/DS you will loose influence. But if you learn (and act uppon it!) and manipulate others, you will gain extreme influence and a lot of interesting background stories. If this conflicts with your roleplaying, then don't take Kreia in you party, but only talk to her on the ship. However, you and Kreia have a bond: you can't get her out your mind, she will see everything.

To forbid Jedi to love is also a path of self-destruction: most of them will have no children. So all those Force sensitives die out. Besides that, when forbidding Jedies to love, you should also forbid other powerfull people to love for the same reasons: that they may abuse their power for revenge or accomplishing their personal goals when their loved-ones are in danger. There are plenty of examples in the real world of this: e.g. take the Chinese general who opened a gate in the Chinese Wall, thereby causing the fall of the whole Chinese empire, just to be near his loved one. But do we forbid all those generals, kings, queens, corporate managers, et cetera to love? Even the president of the USA, one of the most powerfull men in the world, is married!

But these 'distractions' are rather vulnerable to force powers. When I was a LS Jedi Master, I used a couple of Force Waves. They didn't even touch me.

You know, if Force Storm is considered DS, why is Force Stun/Stasis LS? What's so LS about first stunning some guy, rendering him helpless, and then beat him to death?

Due to some inconceivable coincidence, yesterday somehow almost always seems recent
