  1. Besides the fact thats completely unfounded information and quite probably untrue. There's always a misconception of the relationship between developer and publisher -- LucasArts sets the deadlines, and is in charge -- the developer must comply. I don't really care for either, but I don't really think, 'Man, this is all LucasArts's fault' when I open the game and find it to be ****. What I do find, is that I wasted my money on a game that is ****, and a game that is incomplete -- my issue is with Obsidian, who could not meet their deadline since they undoubtedly took 9 months to think up that lackluster story and another two to design those robotic characters that look like garbage.
  2. Something so simple as a poll, yeesh. Since this forum contains no KotOR'1 discussion board, it is unlikely anyone here will represent those who enjoyed Knights of the Old Republic moreso than its bastard-sibling The Sith Lords. Surprisingly though (not really), a lot of people who camp here find the first better than the second, anyway. This will not be an accurate poll since its the equivalent of going into a Lesbian Forum and asking which of the following they preferred: Boys or Girls. Nonetheless, KotOR'1 is finished, is more challenging when fighting and earning credits as well as demanding of intelligent choices when concerning powers and is somewhat more balanced. KotOR'1, while 'cliche', is finished, isn't hard to endure when concerning mumbo-jumbo lines (Kreia), and is overall a solid product that won Game of the Year. A lot. You won't see a hundred Game of the Year tags on KotOR'2 because, well, quite simply, the game blew chunks.

  4. LucasArts isn't to be blamed -- the developer is just as guility, if not moreso. LucasArts is currently in a transition phase from seperate, mostly themselves involved decisions and situations to being right next door to LucasFilms. I mean, simply, that George Lucas is moving all his divisions together, and the cutting of the KotOR'3 team and the shortening of development time were apart of those cuts. Besides, as I've said before, Blizzard Entertainment and Sony Online Entertainment are both capable of cranking out expansion packs to their original games within 6-12 months. Expounding, they create tons of new levels, tons of new systems and items, and sometimes tons of new characters and vehicles that work with the original. Obsidian Entertainment was given a game that already had an engine, already had most things readied and they gave us a half-assed plot, a half-assed dialogue tree, half-assed quests, half-assed characters, and just about a half-assed game in general. They added few things and even those few things were just mimics of things already added (IE certain Force Feat graphics). The game is so buggy, its a wonder if they spent anytime testing it at all. This is not the fault of LucasArts -- this is just a rookie compiled team (with vets, of course) that got carried away with a story they should have known they couldn't crank out with their time allotment. Hell, Avelone, in each interview, talks about how his teams took three damn years just to compile storylines and so forth and so I don't know; for what we got in one -- I'm not impressed.
  5. The best part of the game was when the credits rolled.
  6. Yes it is an idealogy --it is a concept or manner of thinking that is widely held -- a cultural one, in fact, amongst Americans. It is comparable to if you do not vote, you cannot complain. The first defintion describes it as a body of concepts concerning our lives and or our culture -- Star Wars can certainly be its own culture in this instance, but I won't even use it. The concept -- the general idea derived from specific instances or occurrences -- is that if you do not like the thing, you cannot complain or involve yourself in any discussion of it, similiar to if you do not vote, you cannot complain. I used a situation that isn't true and isn't supposed to be, to show how unfair such a concept and idealogy is. Furthermore, I said the person was probably amongst the 'common-sense' wielding individuals, another comment that shows additionally what I meant, and that is that.
  7. The idealogy is not the scenario -- the idealogy is 'If you do not like it, you cannot argue or involve yourself.' You can use hypothetical situations or hyperboles to convey an idealogy but it does not change it. I used the scenario -- 95% of people who dislike prequels -- to show how it can be wrong: those people can get involved with Star Wars and since this has Star Wars forums and not just KotOR, I can be here without need for questioning. Dictionary.com 2 entries found for idealogy. Main Entry: idealogical, idealogy variant of IDEOLOGICAL, IDEOLOGY I suppose you'll start criticising me if I start spelling traveling, travelling, criticizing, criticising and so forth; you obviously meant I could not use an 'A', which is untrue -- I made a simple mistake in adding an o after it, but otherwise, it is perfectly fine.
  8. No, I was replying to your response to my post in which a simple spelling error occurred; since I did not see it since it was a simple one, I thought you meant ideology was not a variation of idealogy or vice versa.
  9. Sure I can -- it was correctly used. The same 'ideology/idealogy' -- the ideology that if you dislike it, you cannot participate which is concept and a manner of thinking -- an ideology yields the following scenario: [insert scenario] which I believe is wrong.
  10. As for ideology, you are correct; nonetheless, I used both idealogy, which is also correct, and ideaology but simple spelling mistakes are not uncommon amongst forum-goers and certainly not uncommon amongst those who are really intelligent. Note, I am not saying I am.
  11. I used it in such a way as to convey that if you believed how I posted here was wrong since I didn't like the game it is tantamount to believing I cannot post anywhere were I to be amongst the hypothetical amount -- 95% percent -- of people who disliked the first three episodes. Ideology being -- If you dislike it, you cannot involve yourself, comparable to if you did not vote, you cannot complain.
  12. Ya, I did feel trapped; the game irked me with such straightforwardness and overall easiness; how anyone can defend it with such imbalanced stats throughout the system and a half-finished storyline is beyond me.
  13. - When people begin to blindly defend the original's sequel despite its horridness. - When people think their Revan is canonical. - When someone creates stupid polls asking which horrifyingly rendered NPC character from the second game people want to bone the most. - When someone creates stupid polls asking which fictional character from the Star Wars Universe people want to bone the most. - When someone creates a second stupid poll asking which horrifyingly rendered NPC character from the second game people want to bone the most.
  14. That's why I used the word idealogy and did not state it as fact. As to the second part: I said its entertaining to read, kind of like those extremist columns on either side of the political parties; you don't have to be involved or a member but you can enjoy it and shoot it down with a simple one sentence response. It generally causes mass rioting of course and everyone rushing to defend -- for instance, this horrible game -- and I do want to bother. I don't spend too much time here but why not get a few kicks? As for 95%, I know its not true -- I liked the prequels because my nieces and nephews enjoyed them and since thats its target audience and since they and many other kids enjoy it, I think its fine; I mentioned it as simply a hypothetical situation but sure, whatever.
  15. KotOR'1 while cliche, is a game finished, is (more) challenging, and filled with a few interesting characters that are certainly new types to the Star Wars universe. KotOR'2 is all attempts -- attempts to be unique (that failed), attempts to be challenging with more variety and neat new systems (failed), and attempts to add a few characters that are interesting, but just remind you of those horribly written lines Obi-Wan delivered. Its mumbo-jumbo with no ending worthy of enduring it. There's similarities and thats why KotOR'2 shouldn't be KotOR'2 but a KotOR'1 Expansion Pack that could lead into something thats awesome for an actual two -- like a story not involving the Exile, Kreia or any of those great characters like Bao-DuHa-Hurr, Disciple and just about everyone else.
  16. Consular with 20+ Dexterity and Wisdom and on Difficulty = game owned. And Light Side too. Throw some Charisma in and what-not and by the end of the game I had probably amassed 200,000+ Credits in one way or another -- I had about 50,000 left over and each teamate decked out in ridiculously over-powered junk. I duck everything and with BBR I was owning people with their own crap throughout the game. It is a strategy; stop being cookie-cutter in a game that yields little possibilities as it is. Not everyone has to have 20 strength or amazing powers. Hell, I did Consular (Jedi Master) with Security, Repair, and Computer, Light Side Mastery, and Force Wave that yielded nothing save dead bodies. I had Atton Rand and Disciple converted by my second planet and let them deal with up-front battle, not that they could ever get close to them since they were dead before they got within 5 meters of em. To the post starter: I don't know what the issue is but all I can think of is Max Dexterity on your armor being restricted to +5 or something -- otherwise its just another error on an error-ridden game.
  17. 'Your kind' -- incredibly cute. I'm glad the major point of the post went over your head, proving your lack of comprehensive and intellectual skills -- I am here because this forum not only discusses Knights of the Old Republic 2 but Knights of the Old Republic; that its a forum where the most civilised discussion takes place with the possible third game is a plus. I can say the game sucks and stay here because I've played it and I have every right to. Not only that, its a general Star Wars discussion forum. Furthermore, I find it entertaining to see people come up with flimsy 'proof' or situations within the game that portray it as this awesome and well worth
  18. And stop making polls since your selections are totally biased. You didn't even put half the lines Obi-Wan Kenobi used which were mumbo-jumbo bsing and stake-burning worthy. No variety.
  19. What was the little kid supposed to say, 'Heya babe -- lets get nakie' -- huh? God, he's on Tatooine and is in a desperate sitation; if anything, it reminds me of my nephews and nieces at that age. Always asking questions that are silly; he's not supposed to be mature -- he's supposed to be reckless and a bit annoying but charming nonetheless. I think the lines were fine enough, but ya, romance in general is 'cheesy.'
  20. Because its a Knights of the Old Republic forum, genius, and I like the brand -- the same idealogy yields the following: 95% of the people who like Star Wars hate the prequels and since they do, they shouldn't watch Star Wars or interact with anything Star Warsy. Please, its a Star Wars forum with General Star Wars discussion and general KoTOR discussing taking place.
