  1. The outside world and this forum can't be seperated as I see it unless I become a zombie at my computer. Where I come from empiricism is bashed, that is not wrong, I do not mind, in fact i like these discussions! Its kinda like whatever country bans flag burning, they should get their flag burned. So whatever religion bans blasphemy, they should receive blasphemy. Its the personal attacks that can hurt, and that should be seperated in these especially taboo subjects that we should strive to get out into the open.
  2. Its seems like the aide is saying that the Faith-based community is the opposite. Theres always a grey area, and most people always tend to fall into the grey area. Especially those that may take a book somewhat figuratively.
  3. In the United States religion is trying to pry its way into the constitution, classrooms, and foreign affairs, so the reality community has an axe to grind i suppose. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "reality community" lol So are you trying to say that justifies behavior on this forum? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't believe my behavior went over the line. I was tolerent, i certainly do not have to be a brown nose. I just defend reality wherever i see it may be dismissed. Religion is to taboo, and maybe its because society supposedly is not suppose to have an open discussion about it like this. We should always be free to renew and update or beliefs, so lets talk!
  4. I could tear this argument to pieces Hurlshot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not an argument, it's an observation. And I'm making it strictly about our little forum family. I've seen numerous posts on how religion is stupid and belief in God is moronic. It just seems very intolerant to me. I don't go around insulting non-believers on these boards, but it seems to be open season against spirituality. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In the United States religion is trying to pry its way into the constitution, classrooms, and foreign affairs, so the reality community has an axe to grind i suppose.

  6. Hmmm. Some christians take the bible as somewhat figurative, for instance the existance of the devil would be just the "flaw" human kind inherited from the original sin. The more literal you take the bible the more extreme one has to be. This atleast looks like he walks the line of literal interpretation of the bible. That combined with political power is disturbing at best.
  7. You annoy me greatly Takkie. This is just what FOX news wants you to think, Baaaaaah. Do you know why the blog community started? Its because they were sick of turning on their television to only see FOX, CNN, and MSN give their side of the story. Not just that but also how they have to censor themselves. FOX News is the greater evil in the big three, their piggybacking with the Rightwing religious is disgusting, supporting stories like the War on Christmas from secularism. The Blog world is the peoples press, and their attempt to take news into their own hand. You would be surprised at how many stories have been uncovered FIRST by the Blog community. I'm a supporter of it. You can support the corporate news all you want, but they either have their hands tied or hands in someone elses pants. BTW what would you call reliable anyway? The pretenses of which we went to war? Reliable seems to be relative these days.
  8. FEAR HL2:1 Hitman:Blood Money GTA: SA Unreal Tourny 2k4 Online Multiplayer I have all these games to play and barely anytime anymore!
  9. Yes two girls, and they have to be kissing!
  10. I hope so. Not to mention it was some other officer trying to sign me up, so the head one lost this guys recruit, me. A week ago I got a call from the Army which was trying to recruit me. I was on a lunchbreak when he called. I asked him how he got my number and he said he recieved it from the college i went to. So the military buys my private information from the college to get rectruits. I told him "if i wanted to join the army I'd contact him, leave me alone - bye" Click.
  11. Independent plumbers make good money. Like the industry standard is like 40$/hour. And since nobody studies plumbing anymore there will be a huge shortage of plumbers soon. It's off topic but I'm always bothered by plumber bashing. It's decent, essential work and you have genuine opportunities to help people. Or screw them, whatever floats your boat(that was my link to the Navy so I'd be on topic). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No offense Astrocreep to plumbers, I know they make a great living. Its just that my friend signed up for the airforce to be something fancy and actualy became a plumber. His military career was switched without his knowledge and as soon as you could say **** he was a plumber in the military. Wasn't his ideal job at the time is all.
  12. I was kicked out of my house because my pregnant sister needed the extra room, and my mother spent my college money, and still justified kicking me out. So here I am, nearly graduating highschool about to be homeless in need of a career to get me on my feet ASAP. A brother in law was in the marines and he felt that was fun so I thought I'd give it a try for few years as a reservist. I talked to the guys, I was going to be in logistics blah blah blah something important sounding where I was probably going to be a plumber. I took the physical, the test and I came back into town to just sign the paper. While I sat down to sign up, the commanding **** started to bitch at me for only being a reservist, how I was weak and should do Fulltime, how Ill still have plenty of time to do what I want to do. He got in my face and intimidated me. I slamed the pen and Walked out. He followed and apologized, and I got to my car. They harrassed me at highschool for a week, and then I graduated. I found a job painting making good money, and a cheap apartment that was huge.

  20. Not all indie music is rock alternative or electronic, hip hop, ect... All indie music is is independent i believe. Alot of it does suck, alot of pop sucks, alot of all genres sucks I think, it just takes time for an individual to weed through to find what suits their pallette. I guess I like indie music so much because thats where I find the most originality, and less glam/pop/materialistic music that suits me. Thats me, a crybaby, folky-goth drama queen. Baley was your post directed at me? Mount Wroclai - by Beirut
  21. I heard advent rising was written by Orson Scott Card, the same buy that wrote the Enders Game Series, I loved that series. Hes a mormon though, it shocks me how some brilliant people can believe in such stupid ideas. Ideas like believing in some crack who reads egyptian hyrogliphics by reading rocks out of a hat.
  22. At The Bottom Of Everything - By Bright Eyes Has anybody else heard of this group? The Lyrics are nostalgic and very intelligent, atleast to me. Give it a try. Bright Eyes Clicky!
